  • the electrolyte monomer solution for filling was made by mixing 83% by weight of VSA and 5% by weight of a crosslinking agent: N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide while maintaining 12% by weight of a sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate aqueous solution of concentration 0.5% by weight at 20 °C or less, and then adding a water-soluble azo-based initiator (V-50 manufactured by Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.) to 100% by mole of the total amount of VSA and methylene bisacrylamide to be 1% by mole.

  • the proton conductivity, the hydrogen gas permeability coefficient, and the maximum cell output of this membrane were obtained by measurements.
  • the electrolyte membrane obtained by the present invention has a superior proton conductivity compared with a Nafion membrane (Comparative Examples 5 and 6) used often as a fluorine-based electrolyte membrane and a high hydrogen gas impermeability, when a solid polymer fuel cell is manufactured, a superior fuel cell having a high output characteristics can be provided.
