Definitions
- the invention relates to a release agent application device.
- the release agent application device carries on the surface a fusing roller one working on the transfer printing principle electrographic printer or copier separating liquid on.
- charge images are used on an intermediate carrier, e.g. a photoconductor drum generated, which is then due to electrostatic or magnetic forces with a developer mixture of a developer station be colored.
- the colored charge images are transferred to a recording medium in a transfer printing station reprinted in the form of single sheets or continuous paper and then thermally fixed.
- thermal Fixation is known from US-A-33 24 791, a fixing station to be used with two rollers, between which the carrier of the Toner image is moved through. The one facing the toner image Fuser roller is heated, the other presses the carrier with the toner image against the fuser roller. Through warmth and Pressure is then melted down the toner.
- separating liquid e.g. Wet silicone oil.
- a release agent application device from DE-C-39 42 147 known in which a felt Application element from one along the fuser roller extending pressure body pressed against the fixing roller becomes.
- a metering tube is provided, which in its Includes longitudinal openings. In the dosing tube pumped release agent emerges from the openings and reaches the application element.
- the application element picks up the release agent and hands it over to the surface of the fuser roller.
- the receptivity will through the material, through the material thickness and the degree of contamination certainly.
- a supply roll is provided on the the fleece is wound up.
- a take-up roll winds up dirty Fleece back on.
- the transport speed of the fleece is constant Rotation speed of the pickup roller determined.
- the transport speed of the fleece therefore increases with increasing diameter of the take-up roll.
- the cleaning effect of the fleece increases with the transport speed of the fleece.
- the transport speed of the Fleece is therefore designed so that the lower speed at the beginning of the fleece is just enough to to achieve a sufficient cleaning effect.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object a release agent application device for applying Release agent on the surface of a fixing roller of an electrographic To design printing or copying machine so that with a constant and reliable cleaning effect Extension of the maintenance intervals is achieved.
- the application element is wound on a supply roll.
- a sensor is coupled to the supply roll, which measures the speed of rotation for example in the form of pulses. It outputs these impulses to a control unit which in turn the speed of an engine that is the take-up roll drives, controls.
- the control unit are therefore the Rotation speeds of both roles known. About that the total length of the application element is also known. Out
- the control unit calculates the actual values from these values Speed of the application element and compares it with a target speed. The control unit slows down or accelerates the engine speed according to the comparison result, so that the result is a constant transport speed of the application element, that of the target speed corresponds, is achieved.
- control unit also the end of the application element.
- the end of the application element was like this designed to operate a shutdown switch as soon as it was withdrawn from the supply roll. There were failures of the switch to be operated, so that the end of the application element in contact with the surface of the fuser roller came. With the appropriate design of the end, for example, a ledge was attached there for destruction the fuser roller.
- the control unit recognizes the end of the application elements the standstill or the slowing down of the supply roll and then switches off the engine. In addition, a corresponding message to the central control of the electrographic Printing or copying device are output.
- a fleece with a thickness between 0.2 to 0.3 mm serves as a request element a fleece with a thickness between 0.2 to 0.3 mm.
- This fleece is much thinner than conventional fleeces.
- Polyamide, polyimide and Teflon or combinations thereof are used.
- a longer length can be achieved by means of the thin fleece of the fleece can be wound up in a small space. With unchanged Maintenance intervals is due to the increased fleece length an increased fleece speed can be realized. This is ensures a higher quality of cleaning the fuser roller, because the fleece is not blocked by dirt can be.
- the thin fleece enables quick and direct fuser roller lubrication.
- a particular advantage shows improved capillary action and absorbency.
- the transfer of the release agent to the fleece using the Wicks ensure optimal wetting of the fleece independently of thermal and geometric tolerances.
- Printer or copier is in a heat setting station a release agent application device shown in Figure 1 for applying release agent L to the surface of a Fuser roller assigned.
- the basic diagram shows the Fuser roller F, which rotates clockwise. Not shown are the pressure roller of the fuser and the between recording media guided on both rollers. Shown but is the device for applying release agent the surface of the fusing roller F. serves as application element V. a fleece that has a thickness of 0.2 to 0.3 mm. It exists made of polyamide, polyimide or Teflon.
- the application element V carries silicone oil or another suitable heat resistant Release agent in liquid form preferably on the whole Surface of the fuser roller F on. To ensure this extends the application element V with its entire Width over the entire axial length of the fixing roller F.
- Das Application element V is also in a predetermined Circumferential area applied to the fixing roller F.
- application element V In the operating state, application element V is always available the surface of the fixing roller F in contact. That takes Application element V dirt particles, such as Toner particles or dust carried by the recording medium. To one To ensure proper functioning, as described below in 3 explained in more detail, preferably the the area of the application element V lying against the fixing roller F. either continuously slow, but possibly also in intervals renewed in sections.
- the take-up roll AV is e.g. driven by a motor MO.
- the one caused by the MO motor Transport direction of application element V runs the movement the fuser roller F so that the used application element V all by stripping from the surface of the Fuser roller F carries contaminations and always a sufficient area of relatively fresh application elements V is available.
- These leadership elements UB, OB are arranged vertically one above the other, so that from an upper guide element OB and a lower one Guide element UB can be spoken.
- the two leadership elements OB, UB are represented by springs S1, S2, which are in the area the end faces of the guide elements UB, OB arranged are pressed to the surface of the fixing roller F.
- OB perform another task.
- the wick D is in touch contact with the application element V, whereby release agent L can be included in the application element. This can do that Dispense release agent L to the fixing roller F.
- the recording role AV is counterclockwise by a motor MO driven.
- the speed of rotation of the supply roll VV is detected by a sensor H.
- the speed of the motor MO is determined by a control device CON.
- This control device CON is coupled to sensor H and evaluates the information provided by the sensor.
- the diameter of the take-up roll AV is correspondingly low, since there is only one, for example Location of application element V on the AVR receiving tube Recording roll AV is located.
- a constant engine speed would a constant speed of rotation of the receiving tube AVR Have consequence.
- the transport speed would then increase of the application element.
- the diameter of the Recording roll AV increases, the diameter of the decreases Supply roll VV. Their rotational speed increases accordingly when processing the application element V, if you have a constant Speed of application element V presupposes.
- the control unit CON is due to the presence of the sensor H. Information the rotation speed of the supply roll VV known. The speed of rotation of the take-up roll AV determines the control unit CON itself, why this rotational speed is also known.
- the control unit compares the engine speed with the speed of the Supply role VV and determines the extent to which the application element V has already been processed. From this she calculates the Diameter of the supply roll VV. From the diameter of the supply roll VV and its speed is the actual speed of application element V can be calculated. This actual Speed of application element V is with a Setpoint compared. The actual value deviates from the target value the control unit CON adjusts the speed of the motor MO accordingly. If the MO motor is one Stepper motor, the on / off duration of this is accordingly Stepper motor MO changed.
- Hall sensor H is in accordance with Figure 2 arranged on the front side of the supply roll W.
- a circular disc HS coaxial with a pin HSS are evenly spaced on the from the face of the supply roll facing away from the individual Arranged magnets or a magnetic ring.
- the HSS pen penetrates into the axis VVA of the supply roll VV coaxially and so coupled with this that the pin HSS the rotational movement of the Axis of the supply roll VV transfers to the disc HS.
- the Magnet HM on the disc HS is a Hall element HL assigned. It is located in the immediate vicinity Proximity to the magnet HM rotating around the pin HSS.
- the safe function of the Hall sensor HL can only be guaranteed if both in the radial and in the axial direction very tight tolerances, for example +/- 0.2 millimeters with respect the distance to the magnets HM are observed. These narrow tolerances are met in that the HSS pin from the surface of the disc HS a defined Protrudes length. This part of the HSS is located on the same side as the magnets HM.
- the HSS pen has an axial bore HB in this area, in which a HLS pin connected to the Hall sensor HL can be introduced.
- the Hall sensor HL is arranged on the side of the plate HP.
- the Plate HP is based on a fixed angle HW, see above that a rotational movement of the coupled to the disc HS HSS pin not on the pin coupled to the HP plate HLS is transmitted and thus a fixed position of the Hall sensor HL is reached in the radial direction.
- the plate HP is HF by a spring axially on the end face of the coupled with the disc HS HSS pin pressed.
- the spring HF is based on the stationary Angle HW from.
- the sensor H can also be constructed in the reverse manner.
- a magnet HM can be arranged on the plate HP. Accordingly, HS would have to be on the disc instead of the magnets HM a plurality of Hall sensors HL are arranged.
- a single one can be placed on the disc HS Magnet can be arranged and the plate HP as large be carried out that a plurality of Hall sensors HL can be arranged in a fixed position. The rotating magnet would then influence the majority of Hall sensors HL on its way.
- the sensor H thus detects any movement of the supply roll VV. Depending on the speed of rotation are in certain Intervals of electrical impulses to the control unit CON submitted. Receives the control unit CON in the known Time intervals no pulses from sensor H, though the motor MO drives the take-up roller AV, recognizes the control unit CON the end of the application element V. The control unit CON issues a corresponding message to the controller of the Printing or copying machine, so that a new role with the application element V can be inserted into the device.
