Definitions
- the present invention relates to a catalyst for use in an oven with a lockable oven muffle by at least one heating element is heated, an effective surface of the catalyst by a Precious metal layer is formed.
- Such a catalyst is known from German specification DE 28 17 101, the catalyst passing through a ceramic disc with a plurality of holes small diameter is formed. During the cooking process or during a subsequent pyrolytic self-cleaning process flow the resulting Gases through the catalyst and are burned there or converted catalytically.
- Another catalyst is known from German published application DE 41 39 904 A1, the catalyst being made from a self-supporting knitted wire.
- An aluminum-containing alloy is particularly suitable as the wire, if appropriate Contains cerium. With the help of the catalyst is in the closed oven muffle circulating air cleaned.
- a catalyst is known from German published patent application DE 41 42 336 A1 known that in a vapor outlet opening in the ceiling area of the oven muffle sits. As a result, vapors removed from the oven become a catalytic reaction for burning or neutralizing unpleasant odors.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a catalyst with which improved cleaning of the gases is possible.
- this is achieved in that the catalyst for the breakdown of the Heating the oven muffle released formaldehyde is used.
- the catalyst for the breakdown of the Heating the oven muffle released formaldehyde is used.
- formaldehyde concentration by both the catalyst Baking process and the self-cleaning process significantly reduced. So far the formation of formaldehyde only when the oven is first heated considered its first commissioning as relevant. This creates the formaldehyde when burning production-related oil or grease residues on the Oven muffle. It was therefore always recommended during the first heating process ventilate the kitchen when starting up the oven and at the same time to leave. Appropriate instructions for the pyrolytic self-cleaning operation are generally unknown so far.
- the catalyst is advantageously formed by a wire mesh, in particular good flowability of the catalyst and at the same time a large surface area to provide for the catalytic reaction.
- the catalyst is in a flow-through, Pot-shaped housing arranged. This facilitates the manufacture and the Assembly of the catalytic converter. The same purpose and the easy cleanability of the The measures according to claim 4 serve as a catalyst.
- the Catalyst at least two partial catalysts arranged one behind the other in terms of flow technology on. While, for example, palladium as a catalyst material for degradation of formaldehyde, a platinum coating contributes in particular to the reduction of carbon monoxide at. So there is a risk of adverse mutual influence of smells of the two partial catalysts is reduced, is between the at least two partial catalysts an uncoated, possibly coarse mesh Neutral filter arranged. This also helps to even out the Flow through the catalyst.
- the catalytic effect is particularly pronounced at the high temperatures occur in pyrolytic self-cleaning operation.
- An oven 1 has a housing 3 which encloses an oven muffle 5. This is clad in a manner known per se with a thermal insulation material and on its front can be closed with an oven door 7.
- the door consists of one metallic door floor 9, in which a viewing window 11 is held. In the front area the door 7 is on the door bottom 9 a front window spaced from the viewing window 13 attached. Between the door floor 9 and an oven flange 15 is a essentially 17 sealing the entire muffle opening arranged.
- At the oven 1 is for pyrolytic self-cleaning operation suitable, whereby all components according to the occurring particularly high operating temperatures are designed.
- a vapor opening 21 is also provided in this, which consists of several individual openings 22 (Fig. 2). Via a funnel-shaped connector 23, the vapor opening 21 is connected to a blow-out duct 25 which opens into the open above the door 7 in the front area of the oven 1. In the blow-out duct 25, a fan 27 for sucking air from the oven muffle 5 is arranged.
- a catalyst 35 is arranged in the area of the vapor opening 21.
- the catalyst has a cup-shaped housing 37 made of a good heat-conducting material, in particular Aluminum, in the bottom of which several suction openings 39 are formed are.
- an attachment opening 41 In the middle of the bottom of the housing 37 there is an attachment opening 41, through which a fastening screw 43 is pushed through the catalyst 35 can be and in a mounting plate 45 of the top wall 20 of the Oven muffle 5 can be screwed.
- a bent peripheral edge 47 of the Catalyst housing 37 is pressed against the top wall 20. In the direction of flow three flat wire meshes are arranged one behind the other, the large contact surfaces with each other and to the inner wall of the housing 37 and the Have top wall 20.
- the first wire mesh forms the first partial catalyst 49.
- the wire used for this is coated with palladium and serves in particular for the reduction of formaldehyde.
- the second wire mesh is through an uncoated one Metal wire formed as a neutral filter 51.
- the flow resistance of the neutral filter 51 is less than that of the first partial catalytic converter 49 and a second partial catalytic converter 53, the flow technology after the neutral filter 51 and by the first partial catalytic converter 49 is arranged spatially separated.
- the knitted fabric of the second Partial catalyst 53 is formed from a platinum-coated metal wire for Burn or neutralize other odors or pollutants.
