- the invention has for its object to provide a blocking device of the type mentioned, which is simple and space-saving and yet safely prevents unwanted opening of the vehicle door at excessive accelerations.
- the invention is essentially based on the idea that the lever of the blocking device is designed such that when the additional mass is moved in the opening direction of the door, the second lever arm laterally engages in a groove in the handle shaft and prevents its outward movement.
- the additional mass of the first lever arm and the length of the lever arms in this case must therefore only be dimensioned such that the second lever arm engages in the corresponding groove of the handle shaft before the handle has moved appreciably outwards.
- the restraining force acting on the handle shaft is essentially no longer the size of the additional mass, but rather the design of the second lever arm.
- the blocking device can be designed particularly simply if the second lever arm has a hook-shaped attachment at its end, which engages in the corresponding recess in the handle shaft.
