Definitions

  • the invention relates to a transport pallet made of plastic with two parallel surfaces forming its top or bottom, each surface being the outside of the base in each case one of two permanently connected base bodies, the bases of which are arranged at a distance from one another.
  • a transport pallet of this type is known from DE-A-26 55 593.
  • Each base for saving plastic material has a grid-like structure, so that the top and bottom have a plurality of openings.
  • Each base body is provided with blocks arranged in the manner of pallet feet, which protrude beyond the space occupied by the lattice-forming elements in the direction of the other base body and which are permanently connected to one another to form the pallet. There is therefore a free space between the two bases which is intended for the engagement of the fork of a forklift.
  • the grid-forming elements are designed in the form of ribs and their spacing is kept less than the width of a fork member of the forklift truck, so that the fork does not penetrate into the region of these ribs and possible damage is thereby prevented.
  • Reinforcing strips which are provided with open grooves, run between the blocks of a base body, into which removable, rigid reinforcing members are inserted and are preferably locked or fixed therein. This is intended to achieve a high load-bearing capacity of the pallet despite the savings in plastic material.
  • This well-known palette has a very complex shape, by which an effective cleaning is strongly hindered.
  • the height of the pallet is considerable and does not meet the desire for flat, space-saving pallets.
  • the reinforcing members are exposed to the possible effects of corrosive substances, so that their service life is limited unless they are made of particularly high quality material, such as e.g. Stainless steel.
  • the pallet should also be as inexpensive to manufacture as possible, have a high load-bearing capacity and a long service life, and the smallest possible height, which is particularly important for the return transport of empty pallets.
  • the pallet should be designed so that it is suitable for production from waste plastic, in particular also from unsorted household plastic waste that can only be processed in the pressing process, in order to make a contribution to the disposal of such waste.
  • each base body is a closed plate, that the space between the bases of the base body is bridged by pairs of mutually parallel, including a groove between them, that on both The ends of each pair of strips are each closed by a crossbar connecting the two bases to form a chamber that extends across the entire width of the pallet, the strips and crosspieces being integrally formed on both bases such that the space between the bases extends along the circumference of the pallet is closed by skirting boards that the pallet is provided with feet projecting outwards over a surface, the closed plates in the area of the feet can have openings to enable a stacking of several pallets, and that the two base bodies in the area of the lei most and crossbars are tightly welded together.
  • the two base bodies form after the connection a simply designed plate with smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces, which, due to its internal structure and the reinforcement inserts used as required, has a high load-bearing capacity despite a relatively small amount of material, the load-bearing capacity can be improved as required by at least one Only a rigid reinforcement insert is inserted.
  • the reinforcement inserts can maintain the shape stability of the pallets even when stored outdoors for a long time.
  • the plate can be kept relatively flat overall, thereby enabling a low overall height of the pallet. Because this plate is closed along its circumference, it cannot be damaged by incorrectly engaging the fork of a forklift.
  • WO-A-87/05581 shows a pallet which has a honeycomb structure as a supporting element, which is covered on one or both sides by plates which are tightly connected to the honeycomb structure by gluing, welding or the like honeycomb structure shock-absorbing and absorbing air cushions are included. Between the edges of the plate, the honeycomb structure is closed off from the outside by a peripheral edge. Outwardly projecting feet are connected to one of the plates.
  • honeycomb structure excludes the possibility of being made of elastic If necessary, plastic-made pallets can be made dimensionally stable or the load-bearing capacity increased by rigid inserts, in particular made of metal.
  • EP -A- 0 277 033 describes a transport pallet which - apart from runners to be fastened to the underside of support feet - including the support feet is made in one piece from plastic.
  • the upper limit of this pallet is a flat plate, from which molded-on reinforcing ribs, often crossing one another at different distances, project downwards. As a result, a multiplicity of chambers opened downward is formed. The introduction of continuous, rigid stiffeners is not possible.
  • In the area of the support feet there are closed chambers which are open at the top for design reasons, and vertical, hollow chambers which are closed at the top and open at the bottom are arranged in the center for inserting the connecting pins formed on the runners.
  • this pallet construction is not suitable for the arrangement of rigid stiffening inserts, it has a variety of open cavities and is particularly so structured on the underside that cleaning that meets today's regulations is hardly possible at a reasonable cost.
  • the pallet according to the solution can be produced inexpensively from plasticized plastic waste, in particular unsorted household plastic waste.
  • This material is, too due to its polyethylene content, particularly tough, tough, inelastic and unbreakable, and can only be processed in the pressing process because of possibly enclosed molding or because of fluctuations in the composition and the resulting changing melting points.
  • one, several or all of the chambers formed in the pallet according to the invention which are sealed off from the outside can each be provided with a reinforcing insert before the two base bodies are connected to one another, preferably by vibration or mirror welding. Because the reinforcing inserts are tightly enclosed in the chambers and the moisture in the chambers is also reduced during the welding process, there is no risk of corrosion for metal reinforcing inserts, so that inexpensive alloys can be used. In connection with the use of a plastic material that is both inexpensive and yet very resistant, it is therefore also possible to use relatively aggressive cleaning agents.
  • the length of the reinforcement insert is preferably dimensioned taking into account thermally induced changes in the length of the pallet on the one hand and the reinforcement insert on the other hand, so that no disturbing effects are to be feared even at the maximum expected limit temperatures.
  • the strips, crossbars and edge strips have the same height compared to the base of a base body.
  • strips, crossbars and edge strips associated with one another are integrally formed on both base bodies of the element, the height of the strips, crosspieces and edge strips of one base body approximately corresponding to the distance between the two base bodies forming the element, while the height of the strips, crosspieces and possibly edge strips of the other base body is limited to the height of welding projections, so that the reinforcing inserts can be completely embedded in the grooves formed between the pairs of strips before the connection of the two base bodies.
  • the base body carrying the strips, crossbars and edge strips is provided with the feet with the height of approximately the base distance of the base body.
  • Another expedient embodiment is to simplify production that all strips are arranged parallel to one another in a group of pairs of strips that are parallel to one another.
  • the element can also comprise two groups of pairs of strips which are parallel to one another, the direction of the strips of one group intersecting the direction of the strips of the other group and the strips being interrupted in this way in the intersection area of each pair of strips of the one group with a pair of strips of the other group that the grooves enclosed by all pairs of strips are connected to one another.
  • a grid-like, rigid reinforcement insert is preferably inserted into the interconnected grooves for high-load-bearing pallets.
  • the feet are preferably designed as hollow bodies and are arranged in an area kept free by the pairs of strips, their cross section tapering steadily towards their free end and the surface of the pallet facing away from the feet opposite each of the feet has an opening suitable for inserting a foot , wherein the cavity enclosed by the feet opens in the direction of this opening and wherein the area between the opening and the base body supporting the foot is enclosed by a wall closely adjoining both bases, the inner wall surface of which merges into the inner wall surface of the foot .
  • the feet are expediently molded onto the base body adjacent to them.
  • the free ends of the feet and the skids which are matched to the distance between two feet to be bridged by one skid each are provided with connecting elements which are assigned to one another such that the pallet can be provided with at least two mutually parallel skids beneath the feet.
  • the runners can be detachably connected to the feet, but a variant is preferred in which the pallet and runners form an inseparable unit.
  • the runners consist of a trough-like upper part which is connected to the feet and is open at the bottom and a lower part which covers the opening thereof and is tightly connected to form a hollow body.
  • the upper part is preferably bevelled on its longitudinal edges facing the feet in order to facilitate the insertion of fork-type forks.
  • a particularly expedient embodiment consists in that the runners are divided into chambers by longitudinal ribs formed on the upper part, at least one of the chambers being able to contain a rigid reinforcement insert which is enclosed in the chamber in a manner protected against corrosion by the tight connection of the upper part of the runners and the lower part of the runners.
  • the lower part is designed as a flat cover which has welding projections assigned to the edges of the upper part and, if appropriate, its longitudinal ribs.
  • an expedient embodiment is that the feet are integrally formed as downwardly open frames on the underside of the pallet, to which correspondingly shaped frames are assigned on the runners, and in that the frames associated with one another are welded to one another on the underside and on the runners to form a sealed cavity.
  • pairs of strips cross the pallet completely.
  • the shown, generally designated 10 pallet consists essentially of two plasticized in the pressing process Household plastic waste produced base bodies 12 and 14, which are permanently connected, preferably by mirror welding.
  • the base body 12 consists of a rectangular, plate-shaped base 15, one side 16 of which forms an outer side of the element 10.
  • an edge strip 20 extends at right angles to the plate plane along the circumference of the plate.
  • parallel strips 22 and 24 which are assigned to one another and run in pairs, each include a groove 26 between them.
  • all the strips 22 and 24 run parallel to two parallel side edges of the base 15.
  • the strips 20 which are parallel to the strips 22 and 24 can have the strips arranged adjacent to them corresponding to the width of the grooves 26 24 or 22 also 15 grooves 26 are arranged directly in the edge region of the base.
  • a second group of strips 22 'and 24' is added to the first group of strips 22 and 24, which is perpendicular to the strips 22 and 24 of the first Group run.
  • the strips 22 and 24 or 22 'and 24' are each interrupted in the cutting area of the two strip groups in such a way that the grooves 26 and 26 'are connected to one another.
