Definitions

  • the invention relates to a slide needle, in particular for knitting machines, with a needle part carrying a head and a slide part which is mounted longitudinally displaceable relative thereto and cooperates with the head and has a shaft with a tip and at least one control foot and to which laterally acting brake spring means are assigned (see US -A-1 673 634).
  • the one-piece slider part is formed after the control foot with a so-called tracking which lies between two narrow spring tongues forming the brake spring means.
  • These two spring tongues are parts of a sheet metal part which has a bracket part connecting the two cut spring tongues at one end, which is bent in an approximately U-shaped manner onto the slide part and is captively fixed thereon by correspondingly bending its free ends.
  • the shaft of the slide part is provided with a small foot which is arranged at a distance from the control foot so that, like the control foot, it forms an axial stop for the intermediate bracket part of the sheet metal part .
  • the object of the invention is therefore to remedy this situation and to create a slide needle, in particular also a neck slide needle, which allows improved guidance of the slide in the area of the brake spring means to be achieved with relatively simple means.
  • the slide needle mentioned at the outset is characterized according to the invention in that the slide part is formed in two parts, with a first part, which is the tip and in the region of the end of the valve which is remote therefrom Shaft integrally formed coupling means, and with a second part in the longitudinal direction adjoining the first part, which carries the control foot, the brake spring means and molded receiving means for at least the end region of the shaft of the first part having the coupling means of the first part, and that the two parts in Areas of the coupling means are non-detachably rigidly connected.
  • This two-part design of the slide part means that the second part, which is provided with the brake spring means, can be designed independently of the first part, which carries the tip cooperating with the head of the needle part, in order to achieve optimal guiding properties in the respective groove of the needle bed of the machine. In particular, it can be made very stable and with good lateral guidance, without having to take into account, for example, the thickness of the slide part, which is limited with regard to the needle part.
  • the receiving means for the coupling means of the first part have a longitudinal groove formed in the second part, into which the end region of the shaft of the first part is fitted and which thus provides an exact lateral guidance of the shaft of the first part at the connection point with the second part guaranteed.
  • the second part of the slide part can, moreover, be made in accordance with the conditions specified by the mode of operation in the respective machine and the design of its needle bed.
  • the second part can have at least one shaft part, in the area of which the control foot is arranged, and / or on the second part, a follow-up to the control foot can be provided.
  • the coupling means have an anchoring foot which is arranged on the shaft of the first part of the slide part and which is fitted into a correspondingly shaped recess in the second part which extends from the longitudinal groove and thus significantly increases the stability of the connection.
  • the longitudinal groove and the recess can be arranged in a housing-like section of the second part, which can also carry the control foot.
  • the second part can have at least one opening which leads laterally into the recess and / or the longitudinal groove and which, for example, can facilitate the production of the connection between the two parts of the slide part.
  • the two parts can namely be permanently connected to each other in the area of the edge of the opening, e.g. caulked or welded or soldered together.
  • the anchoring foot can also be means, e.g. Have undercuts, projections or the like, for positive connection to the second part.
  • the slide part of the new slide needle allows a very simple design of the brake spring means, which in a preferred embodiment are formed by at least one lateral spring bend on the shaft or the tracking of the second part.
  • the shaft or the tracking of the second part can have at least one laterally arranged section of reduced thickness in the region of this spring bend.
  • the second part, at least in sections can have a greater thickness than the first part, it often being expedient if the second part, at least in sections, has a thickness approximately corresponding to the thickness of the needle part. In this way, largely non-rotatable guidance of the slide part in the associated guide groove of the needle bed can be ensured without additional measures.
  • the first part of the slide part that bears the tip is punched or finely cut from a corresponding steel strip.
  • the second part of the slide part can also be produced, for example, with an overall cut fineblanking tool or alternatively as an investment casting.
  • the brake spring means can also be formed by the second part itself, which is laterally connected to the protruding part of the shaft of the first part including an obtuse angle deviating from 180 °.
  • the neck slide needle shown in FIGS. 1, 2 has a flat needle part 1, which on one end has a head 2 with a needle hook 3 and on the other end is provided with a tracking 4, which at 5 in the manner shown in FIG. 2 has a spring bend is trained.
  • a pull-in spring 6 is arranged laterally on the needle part 1 in the region of the head 2, as is known per se.
  • a slide part 7 is guided in a longitudinally displaceable manner and has at one end a shaped tip 8 which can cooperate with the needle hook 3 in the manner shown in FIG. 1.
  • the slide part 7 is formed in two parts; it consists of a first part 9, which has the tip 8 and a shaft 10, which is shown in FIG. 4, and a second part 12 which carries a control foot 11 and which is shown in detail in two variants from FIGS. 5 to 8.
  • the two parts 9, 12 of the slide part 7 are non-detachably rigidly connected to one another.
  • the first part 9 is provided on its upper side with an anchoring foot 13 which forms part of coupling means and which is arranged at a short distance from the rear free end 14 of the shaft 10.
  • These coupling means on the first part 9 correspond to receiving means on the second part 12, which comprise a housing-like section 15, on the upper side thereof the control foot 11 is formed and to which a tracking 16 is connected.
  • a longitudinal groove 17 (FIG. 10) which opens towards the back of the needle and is symmetrical with the longitudinal center plane of the slide part 7 and which, starting from the end face of the section 15, extends into a recess 18 in the guide 16.
  • the housing-like section 15 and the guide part 19 are both on the back side in a common plane 20, which is indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 9.
  • a recess 21 which is substantially rectangular in cross section is formed in the housing-like section 15, which opens towards the two opposite broad sides of the section 15 and the opening edge of which is designated by 22 (FIG. 5) is.
  • the opening boundary 22 is essentially rectangular or square; however, it has a lateral extension 23 in the area of a corner adjacent to the longitudinal groove 17, approximately below the control foot 11.
  • the two parts 9, 12 of the slide part 7 produced separately, for example by fine cutting, are joined together in the manner shown in FIG. 9.
  • the shaft 10 of the first part 9 is inserted with its end region in a transition or press fit into the correspondingly tolerated parallel-flanked longitudinal groove 17, its anchoring foot 13 being pressed into the recess 21 with a corresponding fit.
  • the shaft 10 of the first part 9 lies with its back in the plane 20, i.e. it is flush with the back of the housing-like part 15.
  • the anchoring foot 13 is in each case formed with an undercut at 24.25 on its front side and optionally at 26 on its rear side, which undercut could also be designed differently if necessary.
  • the housing-like section 15 of the second part 12 is caulked in the region of the opening edges 22 with the anchoring foot 13 used.
  • the material of the section 15 displaced in the process results in a positive connection between these parts in the region of the undercuts 24, 25, as can be readily understood from FIG. 9.
  • the longitudinal groove 17 simultaneously ensures perfect mutual alignment of the two parts 9, 12 during assembly.
  • connection of the anchoring foot 13 to the housing-like section 15 could also take place, for example, by welding or soldering in the region of the opening edges 22.
  • the closed design of the housing-like section 15, which could also be referred to as a "cage”, which is opened from below through the back or longitudinal slot 17, ensures that when caulking a high caulking force can be initiated without warping, which ensures a heavy-duty, permanent connection between the two parts 9, 12.
  • the second part 12 is delimited in parallel at least in the housing-like section 15; its thickness is greater than that of the shaft 10 of the first part 9 and corresponds to the thickness of the needle part 1. This results in lateral running or guide surfaces on the second part 12 - and thus in the region of the end of the slide part 7 - which ensure that the Ensure the slider part 7 in the guide groove of the needle bed and reliably prevent the slider part 7 from twisting during splicing.
  • the brake spring means are also provided, which in the embodiment according to FIGS. 5, 7 are formed by a lateral spring bend 27 on the tracking 16.
  • An elongated recess 28 formed on a broad side results in a reduction in the thickness of the tracking 16 in the region of the spring bend 27 and thus a corresponding improvement in the suspension properties of the tracking 16 at the lateral bend.
  • the second part 12 is delimited with parallel flanks over its entire length.
  • the lateral spring bend is either laid in the shaft 10 of the first part 9, which is correspondingly angled at the connection point at 29, or it is the longitudinal slot 17 accordingly incorporated obliquely in the housing-like section 15.
  • the neck slide needle chosen as an embodiment does not imply any restriction of the invention; this is applicable to all types of needles.
