Definitions

  • the invention relates to a combing machine with a pair of pliers, which has a pair of pliers and an upper pliers pivotable with respect to the lower pliers and is movable between a retracted, closed position and an advanced, open position, and which also has additional pliers that are opposite the Upper pliers 11, 12 can be pivoted in the opposite direction in order to clamp a cotton band to be combed between the lower pliers and the additional pliers in the advanced position of the pliers assembly.
  • Such combing machines are known. In the retracted, closed position of the pliers assembly, a fiber beard is clamped between the lower pliers and the upper pliers and is combed out by a rotating circular comb. The pliers unit is then moved into the advanced, open position, and the combed fiber beard is combined with the previously combed cotton wool on a tear-off cylinder. The tear-off cylinder then pulls the fiber beard through a fixed comb. The additional pliers are lowered onto the cotton lying on the lower pliers to prevent as far as possible that tufts of fibers that have not yet been combed out by the circular comb are torn off with the fiber beard.
  • the additional pliers can be pivoted about the same axis as the upper pliers with respect to the lower pliers.
  • a separate drive device is assigned to each for pivoting the upper tongs and the additional tongs. This makes the construction relatively complicated and expensive.
  • the object of the invention is to simplify the construction of the forceps assembly and in particular the means for pivoting the additional forceps in a combing machine of the type specified shape.
  • the solution to this problem according to the invention is based on the knowledge that the required pivoting movements of the additional pliers with respect to the lower pliers can be derived in a simple manner from the pivoting movements of the upper pliers if the pivoting axis of the additional pliers is separated from the pivoting axis of the upper pliers.
  • the combing machine according to the invention is therefore characterized in that the additional pliers can be pivoted with respect to the lower pliers about an axis which runs at a distance from and parallel to the pivot axis of the upper pliers and is coupled with the upper pliers, that it is pivoted in the opposite direction with respect to the lower pliers by pivoting movements of the upper pliers with respect to the lower pliers.
  • the pivot axis of the additional tongs can expediently lie in front of the pivot axis of the upper tongs, in particular the additional tongs can advantageously be arranged pivotably about the shaft of a feed cylinder rotatably mounted in the lower tongs.
  • the additional pliers pivot axis also behind the top pliers pivot axis, are also possible.
  • the additional pliers can be coupled with the upper pliers in a simple manner by at least one handlebar, as will be explained below for some exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings. But it would also be conceivable to use e.g. to use two meshing gears or Zannsegmente, one of which is firmly connected to the upper pliers and the other to the additional pliers.
  • the pliers shaft 2 carries crank arms 5, to which the rear end of a lower jaw frame 6 is articulated, which carries a lower jaw plate 7.
  • the front end of the collet frame 6 is articulated on a front support 8 which is pivotally mounted about the axis of the round comb shaft 1.
  • a feed cylinder 9 with a shaft 10 is rotatably mounted in the lower jaw frame 6 above the lower jaw plate 7.
  • An upper tong plate 11 cooperates with the lower tong plate 7, which is held at each end by an upper tong arm 12, which is pivotally connected to the lower tong frame 6 about a pin 13.
  • an additional pair of pliers is pivotally connected to the lower pliers frame 6, which runs at a distance from and parallel to the pivot axis 13 of the upper pliers 11, 12.
  • the additional pliers consist of a cotton pad 14, which is attached at each end to the front arm of a two-armed lever 15, which is pivotable about the shaft 10 of the feed cylinder 9.
  • a link 17 On the rear arm of the lever 15, one end of a link 17 is articulated via a pin 16, the other end of which is articulated via a pin 18 on a bearing block 19 fastened to the upper tong arm 12.
  • the lower jaw 6, 7 is then moved into the advanced end position shown in FIG. 2, whereby it opens.
  • the upper jaw arms 12 are each connected via a pin 22 to the lower end of a link 23, the upper end of which is mounted on a shaft 24 fixed to the frame.
  • the links 23 pull the upper pliers 11, 12 upward into the open position shown in FIG. 2.
  • the upper pliers 11, 12 are pivoted clockwise with respect to the lower pliers 6, 7 (according to the drawing).
  • the handlebar 17 pulls the rear arm of the lever 15 upward, so that it is pivoted counterclockwise with respect to the lower pliers and the cotton-holding bar 14 is lowered against the lower pliers plate 7.
  • the strip 14 clamps the cotton to be combed, which comes from the feed cylinder 9, against the forceps plate 7, in front of the feed cylinder 9 and a short distance behind the front edge of the forceps plate 7.
  • the fiber beard which has been combed out from the circular comb segment 20, is then combined on the tear-off cylinder 3 with the previously combed cotton wool and drawn off through a fixed comb 25 supported on the pliers frame 6, whereby it still has to be combed from the clamped under the bar 14 Cotton loosens.
  • the pliers unit 6, 7, 11, 12, 14, 15 is then moved back into the rear end position according to FIG. 1, it closes and the cotton-holding bar 14 is lifted from the pliers plate 7 by the handlebar 17.
  • the feed cylinder 9 can pass under the raised hold-down bar 14 Advance additional cotton to be combed during the forward movement or during the return movement of the forceps unit.
  • the front end position of the forceps unit shown in FIG. 2 in the combing machine and thus the ecartement (or the distance from the tear-off cylinder 3 to the front edge of the forceps plate 7 in its front end position) can be adjusted.
  • the cotton hold-down bar 14 clamps the cotton onto the lower jaw plate 7 in the desired manner for all adjustable front end positions, an adjustment or compensation may be necessary (because with a change in the front end position, the opening angle of the upper tongs 11, 12 also changes).
  • an adjustment or compensation may be necessary (because with a change in the front end position, the opening angle of the upper tongs 11, 12 also changes).
  • the bearing block 19 is fastened to the upper clamp arm 12 so as to be adjustable in height, e.g. with a screw 26 which extends through an elongated hole 27 in the bearing block 19.
  • the bearing block 19 is set in such a way that in the front end position of the forceps unit, the cotton-holding bar 14 assumes the desired position with respect to the forceps plate 7.
  • Fig. 3 shows a handlebar 17 'in the form of a spring clip.
  • the upper pin 18 can firmly with the upper tong arm 12 (in Fig. 3 not shown).
  • FIG. 4 shows a handlebar which has two parts 17a and 17b which are axially displaceable with respect to one another and which are pulled toward one another by a built-in tension spring (not shown).
  • the tension spring can also be omitted if means (not shown) for mutually fixing the two parts 17a and 17b in a set position, i.e. at a set length of the handlebars 17a, 17b.
  • the cotton-holding bar 14 is replaced by a bar 14 'which is attached to the front arm of the lever 15 so that it can be adjusted in height, e.g. with a screw 28 which extends through an elongated hole 29 in the bar 14 '.
  • the height of the bar 14 ' is set so that in the respective front end position of the forceps unit, the cotton hold-down bar 14' assumes the desired position with respect to the under-forceps plate 7 in order to clamp the cotton onto it.
  • a resilient element 30 or spring-loaded element 30 is attached to the underside of the cotton-holding bar 14, e.g. a profile fastened with its edges to the bar 14 made of rubber-elastic material.
  • the element 30 In all adjustable front end positions of the pliers unit, the element 30 always presses with approximately the same force on the cotton wool lying on the pliers plate 7.
  • the cotton pad 14 has an approximately rectangular profile.
  • Other profile shapes e.g. Cotton wadding strips that are circular in cross-section are of course also possible.
