Description
- ERFINDUNGSGEBIET
- Die Erfindung betrifft Zusammensetzungen und ein Verfahren zum Schutz von Polymermaterialien vor ultravioletter Strahlung oder ultraviolettem Licht (”UV-Licht”). Insbesondere betrifft die Erfindung Polymerartikel, welche synergistische Kombinationen wenigstens eines ortho-Hydroxytrisaryltriazin-UV-Lichtabsorbers und wenigstens eines oligomeren, polymeren, oder ein hohes Molekulargewicht aufweisenden gehindertem-Amin-Lichtstabilisator (”HALS”, hindered amine light stabilizer,) umfasst.
- HINTERGRUND DER ERFINDUNG
- Es ist wohlbekannt, dass UV-Licht oder -Strahlung, insbesondere von Sonnenlicht, die Degradation von Polymeren verursachen kann. Oft führt dies zum Sprödewerden oder Vergilben von Polymeren, welche in der Form von geformten Artikeln, Polymerfilmen, Bändern, Beschichtungen und dergleichen vorliegen können. Diese Degradation kann jedoch durch die Beimengung von Ultraviolettlicht-Stabilisatoren und Ultraviolettlicht-Absorbern in oder auf solchen Artikeln verhindert werden.
- Die Verwendung von HALS und UV-Lichtabsorbern (”UVA”), sowohl individuell als auch in Kombination, zum Stabilisieren von Polymermaterialien ist allgemein im Fach bekannt. Insbesondere wurden anfänglich UV-Lichtabsorber, wie etwa Benzotriazole und Benzophenone zum Stabilisieren von Polymermaterialien und zum verhindern der Degradation solcher Materialien durch UV-Licht-Exponierung verwendet. Später wurde gefunden, dass HALS, welche im Polymermaterial bei UV-Licht-Exponieren gebildete freie Radikale fangen, effektiver sind als UV-Lichtabsorber und damit werden in den meisten herkömmlichen Anwendungen zur Zeit UV-Lichtabsorber in Kombination mit wenigstens einem HALS verwendet.
- In der Europäischen Patentanmeldung Nr.
EP 0 704 560 sind pigmentierte Fasern von nicht mehr als 50 Micrometer Dicke offenbart, in welchen das Pigment mit einem synergistischen Gemisch eines HALS und eines UV-Lichtabsorbers stabilisiert ist. Die Anmeldung offenbart, dass die Menge von sowohl dem HALS als auch dem UV-Lichtabsorber, welche zum Stabilisieren des Pigments in der Faser effektiv ist, 0,05 bis 5 Gew.-% beträgt, stellt jedoch Beispiele bereit, welche keine wesentliche Verbesserung zeigen, wenn die Menge an HALS über die Menge an UV-Lichtabsorber hinaus erhöht wird. - In der Europäischen Patentanmeldung Nr.
EP 0 453 396 sind Beschichtungszusammensetzungen offenbart, welche von 0.01 bis 5 Gew.-% eines Gemischs an UV-Lichtabsorbern enthalten, welche wenigstens ein 2-Hydroxyphenylbenzotriazol und wenigstens ein 2-Hydroxyphenyltriazin oder 2-Hydroxybenzophenon enthalten, wobei die UV-Lichtabsorber im Molverhältnis von 3:1 bis 1:3 vorliegen. Optional kann die Beschichtungszusammensetzung ein Derivat eines Polyalkylpiperidin-HALS, wie etwa 2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidin enthalten. Obwohl eine Anzahl solcher Polyalkylpiperidinderivate in EP 0 453 396 offenbart sind, ist die in der beanspruchten Zusammensetzung nützliche Menge an HALS nicht offenbart, und keines der Beispiele offenbart spezifisch eine Zusammensetzung, die ein HALS enthält. Alle Beispiele zeigen ein gewisse Degradation, nachdem sie 1000 bis 2000 Stunden einem Xenon Weatherometer ausgesetzt waren, oder nachdem sie in Florida für eine Zeitspanne von etwa einem Jahr der Sonne ausgesetzt waren. - In
US Patent Nr. 4,619,956 ist ein Verfahren zum Stabilisieren eines Polymerfilms, einer Beschichtung oder eines geformten Artikels gegen die Einwirkung von Licht, Feuchtigkeit und Sauerstoff offenbart. Das Verfahren umfasst das Beimengen eines HALS und eines Tris-aryl-2-triazin-UV-Lichtabsorbers in das Polymer. Vorzugsweise ist der HALS eine 2,2,6,6-Tetraalkylpiperidin-Verbindung, -Salz oder -Metallkomplex, und der UV-Lichtabsorber ein Tris-aryl-2-triazin der Formel wobei X, Y und Z jeweils aromatische, carbocyclische Gruppen sind und wenigstens eine der aromatischen Gruppen eine Hydroxy-Gruppe in ortho-Stellung zum Anknüpfungspunkt an den Triazin-Ring aufweist. Jedes der R1 bis R9 ist Wasserstoff, Hydroxy, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Sulfon, Carboxy, Halogen Halogenalkyl, oder Acylamino. Jedes der UV-Lichtabsorber und HALS sind in einer Menge von etwa 0,01 bis etwa 5 Gew.-% verwendet, es werden jedoch nur Beispiele für Zusammensetzungen mit gleichen Mengen an UV-Lichtabsorber und HALS angegeben. Die Zusammensetzungen sind effektiv bei der Stabilisierung des Polymermaterials, welches erst nach etwa 1000 bis etwa 2400 Stunden des dem Sonnenlicht Ausgesetztseins beginnt, Glanz zu verlieren oder gelb zu werden. -
US Patent Nr. 4,331,586 von Hardy offenbart Oligomere zur Verwendung als Lichtstabilisatoren. Während Schutz für Polymermaterialien, wie etwa Polypropylen bereitgestellt wird, wurden Polymerfilme, welche den offenbarten oligomeren HALS enthielten, nach UV-Licht-Exponieren über eine Zeit von etwa 1700 Stunden spröde. - Daher besteht weiterhin ein Bedarf an Zusammensetzungen und Verfahren für deren Verwendung, welche Polymermaterialien stabilisieren und über längere Zeitspannen Schutz vor Bestrahlung mit UV-Licht bereitstellen. Die vorliegende Erfindung stellt solche Verfahren und Zusammensetzungen bereit.
- BESCHREIBUNG DER ERFINDUNG
- Die vorliegende Erfindung wird in Anspruch 1 definiert. Das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin ist 3:1 bis 20:1, vorzugsweise von 5:1 bis 10:1 und am meisten bevorzugt von 6:1 bis 7,5:1. Vorzugsweise ist der Polymerartikel ein geformter oder extrudierter Artikel mit einer Dicke von nicht weniger als 1 mm.
- In der vorliegenden Erfindung nützliche HALS umfassen Oligomere der Formel (I) wobei R Morpholino, C1-C8 Alkylamin, Di(C1-C8)alkylamin, Pyrrolidyl oder Cyclohexylamin ist, X und X', welche gleich oder verschieden sind, und Wasserstoff, C1-C20 Alkyl, oder ein Radikal der Formel (II) sind, wobei R1 für Wasserstoff, C2-C3 Hydroxyalkyl, C1-C8 Alkyl, Hydroxyl oder Oxyl steht; R2 für Wasserstoff, C1-C8 Alkyl, oder Benzyl steht; R3 und R4 gleich oder verschieden sind und C1-C8 Alkyl, Benzyl, oder Phenethyl sind, oder von einem C5-C10 Cycloalkyl; Z ein geradkettiges oder verzweigtes C2-C20 Alkylen oder eine geradkettige oder verzweigte C2-C20 Alkylenkette ist, welche unterbrachen ist durch wenigstens Oxy, Thio, oder-radikal, wobei R5 Wasserstoff, C1-C20 Alkyl, oder das Radikal von Formel (II) ist; C5-C10 Cycloalkylen, C6-C12-Arylen, oder C8-C14-Aralkylen; n eine ganze Zahl größer als 1 ist; und Y ein Halogenatom, C1-C8-Alkylamin, Di(C1-C8)alkylamin, Pyrrolidyl, Morpholino, Cyclohexylamin, oder ist, wobei X, X1 und Z wie zuvor definiert sind unter der Bedingung, dass wenigstens eines von X und X1 der Formel (II) entspricht. Am meisten bevorzugt sind X und X1 gleich oder verschieden und entsprechen Formel (II), wobei R Morpholino aller Octylamin ist, R1 H oder CH3 ist, R2 H ist, R3 und R4 CH3 sind, Z C6H12 ist und Y Morpholino, Octylamin oder ist, wobei X, X1 und Z wie zuvor definiert sind.
- Andere in der Erfindung nützliche HALS umfassen, sind jedoch nicht beschränkt auf die folgenden:

- Typischerweise entspricht der Triazin-Lichtabsorber der Formel (III) wobei A, B und C jeweils aromatisch sind, wenigstens eines von A, B und C durch eine Hydroxygruppe in ortho-Stellung zum Anknüpfungspunkt an den Triazinring substituiert ist, und jedes R1 bis R9 ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Wasserstoff, Hydroxy, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Sulfon, Carboxy, Halogen, Halogenalkyl und Acylamino. Vorzugsweise entspricht dar Triazin-Lichtabsorber der Formel (IV) wobei R10, R11, R12 und R13 gleich oder verschieden sind und individuell ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Wasserstoff, Hydroxy, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Sulfon, Carboxy, Halogen, Halogenalkyl und Acylamino, und R14 Wasserstoff oder C1 bis C18 Alkyl ist. Am meisten bevorzugt sind R10, R11, R12 und R13 H oder CH3, und R14 ist Wasserstoff, C6H13 oder C8H17.
- Andere nützliche Triazin-Lichtabsorber umfassen, sind jedoch nicht beschränkt auf 2-(4,6-Diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-5-(hexyl)oxy-phenol, 2-(4-((2-hydroxy-3-dodecyloxypropyl)-oxyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)-4,6-bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin, 2-(4-((2-hydroxy-3-tridecyloxypropyl)-oxyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)-4,6-bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin, 2-(4-((2-hydroxy-3-tridecyloxypropyl)-oxyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)-4,6-bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin, und 2-(4-((2-hydroxy-3-isooctyloxypropyl)-oxyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)-4,6-bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin und Gemische davon.
- Vorzugsweise ist der lichtbeständige Polymerartikel aus einem Polyolefinhomopolymer, -copolymer, oder -terpolymer und noch mehr bevorzugt einem Homopolymer, Copolymer oder Terpolymer von Polyethylen oder Polypropylen gebildet, wobei das Polyethylen oder Polypropylen ein Produkt der Polymerisation in Gegenwart wenigstens eines Single-Site-Katalysators, wenigstens eines Ziegler-Natta-Katalysators oder sowohl eines Ziegler-Natta-Katalysators als auch wenigstens eines Single-Site-Katalysators ist.
- DETAILLIERTE BESCHREIBUNG DER ERFINDUNG
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Zusammensetzungen zum Stabilisieren von Polymermaterialien, wie etwa geformten oder extrudierten Artikeln, biaxial gereckten Bändern oder Filmen, und Beschichtungen, zum Verhindern einer Degradation beim Exponieren an UV-Licht, insbesondere UV-Licht mit einer Wellenlänge von 290 bis 350 nm. Es wurde unerwartet entdeckt, dass, wenn von 50 bis 5000 ppm (parts per million) eines ortho-Hydroxy-tris-aryl-triazin und von 500 ppm bis 1,25 Prozent wenigstens eines oligomeren, polymeren, oder hochmolekulargewichtigen HALS mit einem Polymermaterial in einem Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin von 3:1 bis 20:1, vorzugsweise von 5:1 bis 10:1 und am meisten bevorzugt von 6:1 bis 7,5:1 gemischt werden, das Polymermaterial für eine wesentlich längere Zeitspanne vor UV-Licht-Exponierung geschützt ist als durch jegliche herkömmliche Lichtstabilisatorzusammensetzung, welche einen HALS, einen UV-Lichtabsorber oder eine Kombination davon enthält.
- Vorzugsweise weist das oligomere, polymere oder hochmolekulargewichtige HALS ein Molekulargewicht auf, das größer ist als 500, und vorzugsweise größer als 1000. Geeignete HALS sind Oligomere des Typs, welcher in
US Patent Nr. 4,331,586 offenbart ist, dessen Inhalte hierein in ihrer Gesamtheit durch Bezugnahme aufgenommen sind. - In der Erfindung nützliche HALS umfassen, sind jedoch nicht beschränkt auf Oligomere der Formel (I) wobei R Morpholino, C1-C8 Alkylamin, Di(C1-C8)alkylamin, Pyrrolidyl oder Cyclohexylamino ist, und vorzugsweise Morpholino oder Octylamin ist, X und X1, welche gleich oder verschieden sind, für Wasserstoff, C1-C20 Alkyl, oder das Radikal (II) stehen, wobei R1 für Wasserstoff, C2-C3 Hydroxyalkyl, C1-C8 Alkyl, Hydroxyl oder Oxyl steht; R2 für Wasserstoff, C1-C8 Alkyl, oder Benzyl steht; R3 und R4, die gleich oder verschieden sein können, für C1-C8 Alkyl, Benzyl, oder Phenethyl stehen, oder zusammen mit dem Kohlenstoff, an den sie angeknüpft sind, C5-C10 Cycloalkyl bilden; Z für C2-C20 geradkettiges oder verzweigtes Alkylen steht, wobei die Alkylen-Kette unterbrochen sein kann durch Oxy, Thio, oder-radikale, wobei R5 für Wasserstoff, C1-C20 Alkyl, oder das Radikal (II) steht, C5-C10 Cycloalkylen, C6-C12 Arylen, oder C8-C14 Aralkylen; n eine ganze Zahl größer als 1 ist; und Y steht für ein Halogenatom, C1-C8 Alkylamin, D1(C1-C8)alkylamin, Pyrrolidyl, Morpholino, oder wobei X, X1 und Z wie zuvor definiert sind; unter der Bedingung, dass wenigstens eine Piperidinyl-Gruppe von Formel (II) in der sich wiederholenden Einheit vorhanden ist.
- Die bevorzugten Zusammensetzungen von Formel (I) sind solche, in denen sowohl X als auch X1 die Gruppe von Formel (II) sind. Die besonders bevorzugten Zusammensetzungen von Formel (I) sind solche, in denen X und X1 2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl sind und Z Hexamethylen ist.
- In der vorliegenden Erfindung als UV-Lichtabsorber nützliche ortho-Trisaryltriazine sind die des in
US Patent Nr. 4,616,956 offenbarten Typs, dessen Inhalte durch Bezugnahme hierin in ihrer Gesamtheit aufgenommen sind. Im Allgemeinen entspricht der Triazin-Lichtabsorber der Erfindung der Formel (III) wobei A, B und C jeweils aromatisch sind, wenigstens eines von A, B und C durch eine Hydroxygruppe in ortho-Stellung zum Anknüpfungspunkt an den Triazinring substituiert ist, und jedes R1 bis R9 ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Wasserstoff, Hydroxy, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Sulfon, Carboxy, Halogen, Halogenalkyl und Acylamino. Vorzugsweise entspricht der Triazin-Lichtabsorber der Formel (IV) wobei R10, R11, R12 und R13 wie oben für R1 bis R9 beschrieben sind, und am meisten bevorzugt H oder C3 sind, und R14 Wasserstoff oder C1 bis C18 Alkyl ist, wobei Wasserstoff, C6 Alkyl und C8 Alkyl am meisten bevorzugt sind. - Typischerweise kann ein Polymerartikel, wie etwa ein geformter oder extrudierter Artikel oder ein biaxial gerecktes Band oder Film in der vorliegenden Erfindung stabilisiert werden durch Mischen von 50 bis 5000 ppm des Triazin-Lichtabsorbers der Erfindung und 500 ppm bis 1,25 Gew.-% des HALS der Erfindung mit einem zum Bilden des Artikels verwendeten Polymermaterial, Das Verhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber ist typischerweise von 20:1 bis 3:1, vorzugsweise von 10:1 bis 5:1, und am meisten bevorzugt von 6:1 bis 7,5:1. Idealerweise ist das Verhältnis für Polyolefine 7:1, d. h. 2000 ppm HALS und 300 ppm Triazin, basierend auf dem Gewicht des Polymermaterials.
- Obwohl der HALS und Triazin-Lichtabsorber der Erfindung während des Verarbeitens des Polymermaterials mit jeglichen herkömmlichen, im Fach bekannten Mitteln individuell zum Polymermaterial zugefügt werden können, kann vor dem Verarbeiten ein Gemisch der zwei Komponenten gebildet werden. Typischerweise wird die Additiv-Zusammensetzung der Erfindung in Pellets, prills, oder Pastillen ausgebildet, welche den HALS und den UV-Lichtabsorber der Erfindung enthalten. Dies kann erreicht werden durch Zusammenschmelzen des HALS und des UV-Lichtabsorbers und Extrudieren des Gemischs, Zusammen-Sprühen von Lösungen der zwei Komponenten, um bei Verdampfen des Lösemittels Pellets oder prills des Gemischs zu bilden, oder durch physikalisches Kompaktieren.
- Die Lichtstabilisierungs-Additiv-Zusammensetzung der Erfindung kann auch in der Form eines Konzentrats bereitgestellt werden, welches von 2 bis 70 Prozent, und vorzugsweise von 5 bis 50 Prozent der Additivzusammensetzung enthält, und der Rest Polymerharz umfasst, und wobei das Verhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber typischerweise von 20:1 bis 3:1, vorzugsweise von 10:1 bis 5:1 ist.
- Die Lichtstabilisierungs-Additiv-Zusammensetzung der Erfindung kann verwendet werden zum Stabilisieren von Polyolefinen.
- Wie hierin verwendet umfasst der Begriff Apolyolefin@ Homopolymere von alpha-Olefinen wie etwa Polyethylen, Polybutadien, Polyisopren, und dergleichen; Copolymere von alpha-Olefinen, einschließlich Ethylen-Propylen-Copolymere, Ethylen-Buten-, Ethylen-Hexen-, und Ethylen-Okten-Copolymere, Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Copolymere, Styrol-Butadien-Copolymere, Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styrol-Terpolymere und dergleichen. Bevorzugte Polyolefine umfassen Polyethylen und Polypropylen.
- Optional können die Zusammensetzungen andere Additive enthalten, insbesondere Additive, die in Polyolefinen nützlich sind, wie etwa Antioxidantien, zusätzliche Lichtstabilisatoren, plastischmachende Zusatzmittel, Flammschutzmittel, antistatische und Antirutschmittel, Füllstoffe, Farbstoffe, Pigmente und dergleichen.
- Geeignete Antioxidantien umfassen die des gehinderten (hindered) Phenol-Typs, wie etwa 2,5-Di-t-butyl-p-kresol; 4,4'-Bis(2,6-di-t-butylphenol); Tetrakisp[methylen(3,5-ditert-butyl)4-hydroxyhydrocinnamat)]methan; 1,3,5-Tris(4-tert-butyl-3-hydroxy-2,6-dimethylbenzyl)-1,3,5-triazin-2,4,6-(1H,3H,5H)-trion; 1,3,5-Tris(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)-s-triazin-2,4,6-(1H,3H,5H)-trion, Tris(2,4-ditert-butylphenyl)phosphit; Bis(2,4-ditbutylphenyl)pentaerythritoldiphosphit; 2[[2,4,8,10-Tetrakis(1,1-dimethylethyl)dibenzo[d,f][1,3,2]dioxaphosphepin-o-yl]oxy]-N,N-bis[2[[2,4,8,10-tetrakis(1,1-diemthylethyl]dibenzo[d,f][1‚3,2]dioxaphosphepin-6-yl]oxy]ethanamin; oxidierte Bis(Talgalkyl)amine; 4,4'-Bis(2,6-diisopropylphenol); 2,4,6-Tri-t-butylphenol; 2,2'-Thiobis(4-methyl-6-t-butylphenol); Octadecyl 2(3',5'-di-t-butyl-4-'hydroxyphenyl)propionat, etc.; Ester von Thiodipropansäure, wie etwa Dilaurylthiodipropionat und Distearylthiadipropionat, etc; Hydrocarbyldiphosphite, wie etwa Triphenylphosphit, Trinonylphosphit, Diisodecylpentaerythritoldiphosphat, Diphenyldecylphosphit, etc.; und Kombinationen davon.
- Geeignete zusätzliche Lichtstabilisatoren umfassen die der Benzotriazol-Klasse, wie etwa 2-(2'-Hydroxy-5-t-octylphenyl)benzotriazol; 2(2'-Hydroxy-3'-5'-di-t-butylphenyl)-5-chlorobenzotriazol; die des Hydroxybenzophenon-Typs, wie etwa 2-Hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenon; 2-Hydroxy-4-octyloxybenzophenon; 2,2'-Dihydroxy-4,4'-di-methoxybenzophenon; gehinderte Phenolester, wie etwa n-Hexadecyl 3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenzoat, und -2'4'-di-t-butylphenyl 3,5-di-butyl-4-hydroxybenzoat; Metallkomplexe von 2,2'-Thiobis(4-t-octylphenol), Nickelkomplexe von Bis(4-t-octylphenyl)sulfon, Nickeldibutyldithiocarbamat; Nickelsalze von 4-Hydroxy-3,-di-t-butylbenzylphosphorsäuremonoalkylester, wobei Alkyl Methyl, Ethyl, Propyl, Butyl, etc. ist; Nickelkomplex von 2-Hydroxy-4-methylphenylundecylketonoxim, etc.
- Polymerartikel, welche mit der vorliegenden Erfindung vor UV-Licht geschützt werden können, umfassen, sind jedoch nicht beschränkt auf, geformte und extrudierte Artikel, Beschichtungen, Bänder und Filme. Die Artikel können durch Extrudieren, Folienextrudieren, Spritzgußformen, Blasformen, Spritzblasen, Rotations- oder Rotoformen, Kalandrieren, Thermoformen, Formpressen, Vakuumformen, Druckformen, Reaktionsspritzgießen, und andere ähnliche herkömmliche Techniken hergestellt werden. Darüber hinaus können Beschichtungen aufgebracht werden durch Pulverbeschichten, Extrusionsbeschichten, Elco-Lackierung, Sprühen, Tauchen und andere ähnliche herkömmliche Techniken.
- BEISPIELE
- Die folgenden, nicht einschränkenden Beispiele sind lediglich veranschaulichend für die vorliegende Erfindung und sollen nicht als die Erfindung einschränkend interpretiert werden, deren Umfang durch die angefügten Ansprüche definiert ist. Die Beispiele 1 und 2 stimmen mit der Erfindung überein.
- Beispiel 2
- Testproben wurden wie folgt hergestellt: Irganox 1010 (0,5 g), ein Antioxidans, Irgafos 168 (1,0 g), ein Phosphit als ein Prozessstabilisator, und Zinkstearat (0,25 g) wurden mit LLDPE (low density polyethylene) und den in TABELLE 1 aufgelisteten UV-Stabilisatoren pulverförmig gemischt. Die resultierenden Ansätze wurden bei 275 EC in einem ein und ein viertel Inch Einzelschraubenextruder gemischt und durch Spritzguß bei 200 EC mit einer Formtemperatur von 60 EC in streckbare Stäbe überführt. Die streckbaren Stäbe wurden in einem Atlas Ci65 WOM mit Wasserspray exponiert, und es wurde eine Bruchdehnung als Funktion der Zeit gemessen. Die Ergebnisse, die als Prozent Dehnung bei Bruch angegeben sind, sind in TABELLE 1 aufgeführt, wobei eine Dehnung von weniger als 50 Prozent als Misserfolg betrachtet wird. TABELLE 1

4 Eine Verbindung der Formel (N), wobei R10, R11, R12 und R13 alle Methyl sind, und R14 C8-H17 ist. - Wie klar aus den Daten ersichtlich, ist die durch die Erfindung lichtstabilisierte Zusammensetzung den herkömmlichen Zusammensetzungen bei weitem überlegen und stellt sogar für 16000 Stunden Schutz vor UV-Licht bereit, an welchem Punkt die Zusammensetzung dann noch 80% ihrer anfänglichen Dehnung beibehält. Im Gegensatz dazu beginnt die Bruchdehnung von Zusammensetzungen, die durch herkömmliche Zusammensetzungen lichtstabilisiert sind, nach UV-Licht-Exponierung von nur 4000 bis 10000 Stunden dramatisch abzunehmen, wobei Misserfolg, d. h. weniger als 50% Bruchdehnung nach 14000 bis 16000 Stunden auftritt.
- Beispiel 2
- Die Fähigkeit der in
US Patent Nr. 4,619,956 von Susi (”dem '956 Patent”) offenbarten lichtstabilisierenden Zusammensetzungen, Polymermaterialien vor Degradation bei UV-Licht-Exponierung zu schützen, wurde mit der der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzungen verglichen. Das '956 Patent stellt beispielhaft den Effekt dar, den längere UV-Licht-Exponierung auf Polymermaterialien hat, wobei jede Probe von Polymermaterial gleiche Mengen an Lichtstabilisierungs-Zusammensetzungen enthält, welche einen Triazin-Lichtabsorber der Formel umfassen, wobei R10, R11, R12 und R13 CH3 sind, und R14 C8-Alkyl ist, und ein kommerziell erhältlicher HALS, d. h. Tinuvin7 765, Tinuvin7 440, Tinuvin7 900 and SanduvoR7 3050. Werden die Polymermaterialproben abwechselnd Zyklen von 8 Stunden UV-Licht-Exponierung gefolgt von einer Abwesenheit von UV für 4 Stunden ausgesetzt, zeigen sie einen deutlichen Verlust von Glanz und eine Zunahme an Gelbfärbung nach Zeitspannen von 1200 bis 2400 Stunden. Im Gegensatz dazu behält Polymermaterial, weiches die erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzungen umfasst, nützliche Eigenschaften für mindestens 16000 Stunden, was klar die Überlegenheit der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzungen im Vergleich mit gleiche Mengen an HALS und Triazin enthaltenden Zusammensetzungen aufzeigt. - Beispiel 3
- Ein Polyamid, welches lichtstabilisiert wurde durch Mischen des Polyamids mit von etwa 50 bis etwa 5000 ppm eines ortho-Hydroxytrisaryltriazin-Lichtabsorbers und von etwa 500 ppm bis etwa 1,25% eines oligomeren, polymeren oder hochmolekulargewichtigen HALS mit einem Molekulargewicht von wenigstens 500, wobei das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber von etwa 3:1 bis etwa 20:1 ist, behält für eine wesentlich längere Zeitspanne nützliche physikalische Eigenschaften bei UV-Licht-Exponierung als mit herkömmlichen Lichtstabilisator-Zusammensetzungen gemischtes Polyamid. Es werden gute Ergebnisse erhalten, wenn das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber von etwa 5:1 bis etwa 10:1 ist.
- Beispiel 4
- Ein Polyester, welches lichtstabilisiert wurde durch Mischen des Polyesters mit von etwa 50 bis etwa 5000 ppm eines ortho-Hydroxytrisaryltriazin-Lichtabsorbers und von etwa 500 ppm bis etwa 1,25 eines oligomeren, polymeren oder hochmolekulargewichtigen HALS mit einem Molekulargewicht von wenigstens 500, wobei das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber von etwa 3:1 bis etwa 20:1 ist, behält bei UV-Licht-Exponierung für eine wesentlich längere Zeitspanne nützliche physikalische Eigenschaften als mit herkömmlichen Lichtstabilisator-Zusammensetzungen gemischtes Polyester. Es werden gute Ergebnisse erhalten, wenn das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber von etwa 5:1 bis etwa 10:1 ist.
- Beispiel 5
- Ein Polyacetal, welches lichtstabilisiert wurde durch Mischen des Polyacetals mit von etwa 50 bis etwa 5000 ppm eines ortho-Hydroxytrisaryltriazin-Lichtabsorbers und von etwa 500 ppm bis etwa 1,25 eines oligomeren, polymeren oder hochmolekulargewichtigen HALS mit einem Molekulargewicht von wenigstens 500, wobei das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber von etwa 3:1 bis etwa 20:1 ist, behält bei UV-Licht-Exponierung für eine wesentlich längere Zeitspanne nützliche physikalische Eigenschaften als mit herkömmlichen Lichtstabilisator-Zusammensetzungen gemischtes Polyacetal. Die besten Ergebnisse werden erhalten, wenn das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber von etwa 5:1 bis etwa 10:1 ist.
- Beispiel 6
- Ein Polyurethan, welches lichtstabilisiert wurde durch Mischen des Polyurethans mit von etwa 50 bis etwa 5000 ppm eines ortho-Hydroxytrisaryltriazin-Lichtabsorbers und von etwa 500 ppm bis etwa 1,25 eines oligomeren, polymeren oder hochmolekulargewichtigen HALS mit einem Molekulargewicht von wenigstens 500, wobei das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber von etwa 3:1 bis etwa 20:1 ist, behält bei UV-Licht-Exponierung für eine wesentlich längere Zeitspanne nützliche physikalische Eigenschaften als mit herkömmlichen Lichtstabilisator-Zusammensetzungen gemischtes Polyurethan. Es werden gute Ergebnisse erhalten, wenn das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin-Lichtabsorber von etwa 5:1 bis etwa 10:1 ist.
- Während es offensichtlich ist, dass die hierin offenbarte Erfindung wohl ausgelegt ist, die oben genannten Aufgaben zu erfüllen, sollte gewürdigt werden, dass zahlreiche Modifikationen und Ausführungsformen von Fachleuten gefunden werden können, Daher ist beabsichtigt, dass die angefügten Ansprüche all solche Modifikationen und Ausführungsformen umfassen sollen, welche dem wahren Geist und Umfang der vorliegenden Erfindung entsprechen.

- Polymerartikel, umfassend ein Polymermaterial, das ein Polyolefinhomopolymer, -copolymer oder -terpolymer ist, von 50 ppm bis 5000 ppm wenigstens eines ortho-Hydroxytrisaryltriazin-Lichtabsorbers (Triazin), und von 500 ppm bis 1,25 Prozent wenigstens eines oligomeren, polymeren, oder hochmolekulargewichtigen HALS (hindered amine light stabilizer, gehindertes-Amin-Lichtstabilisator) mit einem Molekulargewicht von wenigstens 500, wobei das Gewichtsverhältnis von HALS zu Triazin von 3:1 bis 20:1 ist, und wobei der Polymerartikel ein geformter Artikel, ein extrudierter Artikel, oder ein biaxial gerecktes Band oder ein biaxial gereckter Film ist und wobei der HALS ein Oligomer oder ein Polymer ist oder aus der Gruppe ausgewählt ist bestehend aus: Bis(1-octyloxy-2,2,6,6,tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)sebacat; 1,3,5-triazin-2,4,6-triamin,N,N'''[1,2-ethandiylbis[[[(4,6-bis[butyl(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidinyl)amino]-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl]imino]-3,1-propandiyl]]-bis[N'N'-dibutyl-N',N''-bis(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidinyl); und 1,3,5-triazin-2,4,6-triamin,N,N'''[1‚2-ethandiylbis[[[(4,6-bis[butyl(1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetraamethyl-4-piperidinyl)amino]-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl]imino]-3,1-propandiyl]]-bis[N'N''-dibutyl-N',N''-bis(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidinyl).
- Polymerartikel gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei das Verhältnis von HALS zum Triazin-Lichtabsorber von 5:1 bis 10:1 ist.
- Polymerartikel gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei das Verhältnis von HALS zum Triazin-Lichtabsorber im Bereich von 6:1 bis 7,5:1 ist.
- Polymerartikel gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei der HALS ein Oligomer der Formel (I) ist, wobei R Morpholino, C1-C8 Alkylamin, Di(C1-C8)alkylamin, Pyrrolidyl oder Cyclohexylamin ist, X und X1, welche gleich oder verschieden sind, und Wasserstoff, C1-C20 Alkyl, oder ein Radikal der Formel (II) sind, wobei R1 für Wasserstoff, C2-C3 Hydroxyalkyl, C1-C8 Alkyl, Hydroxyl oder Oxyl steht; R2 für Wasserstoff, C1-C8 Alkyl, oder Benzyl steht; R3 und R4 gleich oder verschieden sind und C1-C8 Alkyl, Benzyl, oder Phenethyl sind, oder ein C5-C10 Cycloalkyl bilden; Z ein geradkettiges oder verzweigtes C2-C20 Alkylen oder eine geradkettige oder verzweigte C2-C20 Alkylenkette ist, welche unterbrochen ist durch wenigstens Oxy-, Thio-, oder -radikal, wobei R5 Wasserstoff, C1-C20 Alkyl, oder das Radikal von Formel (II) ist; C5-C10 Cycloalkylen, C6-C12 Arylen, oder C8-C14 Aralkylen; n eine ganze Zahl größer als 1 ist; und Y ein Halogenatom, C1-C8 Alkylamin, Di(C1-C8)alkylamin, Pyrrolidyl, Morpholino, Cyclohexylamin, oder ist, wobei X, X1 und Z wie zuvor definiert sind; unter der Bedingung, dass wenigstens eines von X und X1 der Formel (II) entspricht.
- Polymerartikel gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei der HALS ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Dimethylsuccinat, Polymer mit 4-Hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinethanol; einer Mischung von Dimethylsuccinat, Polymer mit 4-Hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinethanol und N,N'-Bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)-1,6-hexandiamin-Polymer mit 2,4,6-Trichloro-1,3,5-triazin, Reaktionsprodukten mit 2,4,4-Triethyl-1,2-pentanamin; N,N'-Bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)-1,6-hexandiamin, Polymer mit 2,4,6-Trichloro-1,3,5-triazin, Reaktionsprodukten mit 2,4,4-Trimethyl-2-pentanamin; Poly[methylpropyl-3-oxy-(2',2',6',6'-tetramethyl-4'-piperidinyl)]siloxan; Poly[methylpropyl-3-oxy-(1',2',2',6',6'-pentamethyl-4'-piperidinyl)]siloxan; Reaktionsprodukten von 2,2,4,4-Tetramethyl-7-oxa-3,20-diaza-21-oxodispiro[5,1,11,12]heneicosan und Epichlorhydin; und 1,3-Propandiamin, N,N''-1,2-ethandiylbis-, Polymer mit 2,4,6-Trichloro-1,3,5-triazin, Reaktionsprodukten mit N-Butyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinamin.
- Polymerartikel gemäß einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei der Triazin-Lichtabsorber der Formel (III) entspricht, wobei A, B und C jeweils aromatisch sind, wenigstens eines von A, B und C durch eine Hydroxygruppe in ortho-Stellung zum Anknüpfungspunkt an den Triazinring substituiert ist, und jedes R1 bis R9 ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Wasserstoff, Hydroxy, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Sulfon, Carboxy, Halogen, Halogenalkyl und Acylamino.
- Polymerartikel gemäß Anspruch 7, wobei der Triazin-Lichtabsorber der Formel (IV) entspricht, wobei R10, R11, R12 und R13 gleich oder verschieden sind und individuell ausgewählt sind aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Wasserstoff, Hydroxy, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Sulfon, Carboxy, Halogen, Halogenalkyl und Acylamino, und R14 Wasserstoff oder C1 bis C18 Alkyl ist.
- Polymerartikel gemäß Anspruch 8, wobei R10, R11, R12 und R13 H oder CH3 sind, und R14 Wasserstoff, C6H13 oder C8H17 ist.
- Polymerartikel gemäß Anspruch 7, wobei der Triazin-Lichtabsorber ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus 2-(4,6-Diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-5-(hexyl)oxy-phenol, 2-(4-((2-Hydroxy-3-dodecyloxypropyl)-oxyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)-4,6-bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin, 2-(4-((2-Hydroxy-3-tridecyloxypropyl)-oxyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)-4,6-bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin, und 2-(4-((2-Hydroxy-3-isooctyloxypropyl)-oxyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)-4,6-bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazin.
- Polymerartikel gemäß einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei der Polymerartikel ein geformter oder extrudierter Artikel mit einer Dicke von nicht weniger als etwa 1 mm ist.
- Polymerartikel gemäß einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei das Polymermaterial ein Homopolymer, Copolymer oder Terpolymer von Polyethylen oder Polypropylen ist.
- Polymerartikel gemäß Anspruch 12, wobei das Polyethylen oder Polypropylen ein Produkt der Polymerisation in Gegenwart wenigstens eines Ziegler-Natta-Katalysators ist.
- Polymerartikel gemäß Anspruch 12, wobei das Polyethylen oder Polypropylen ein Produkt der Polymerisation in Gegenwart wenigstens eines Single Site-Katalysators ist.
- Polymerartikel gemäß Anspruch 12, wobei das Polyethylen oder Polypropylen ein Produkt der Polymerisation in Gegenwart sowohl eines Ziegler-Natta-Katalysators als auch wenigstens eines Single-Site-Katalysators ist.
