Die Erfindung betrifft Schmierölgemiscne, tiie ein hyuroge-
bestimrr.ten cracktes Schmieröl als Grundöl und ein Gemisch vors/öllpssJLiefcen
Polyalkyl (meth) acrylaten als Pourpoint-ETrni<edriger ent>iaiten.
Hydrogecrackte Schmieröle, v»ie die in der NE-PS 76ΐ3β5>4 beschriebenen

motoröle, insbesondere für Mehrbereichsbenzinmotor- und -dieselmotoröle,
sehr geeignet.
Bei hyarogecrackten Grundölen mit besonaers hohem Viskositätsindex (XHVI-üle mit einem Viskositätsinüex von mindestens 140
gemäss ASTM D -2270) scheint es jedoch nicht möglich zu sein,
gemäss ASTM D-97 o
den Pourpoint /,der normalerweise bei etwa .-15 bis -33 C ouer
darunter liegt, zu erniedrigen, auch dann nicht, wenn man speziell für HVI-üle, einschliesslich aar hydrogecrackten
HVI-Öle, bestimmte Pourpoint-Erniedriger verwendet, wie die in
der GB-PS 1 347 713 beschriebenen Polyalky!methacrylate. Diese
Pourpoint-Erniedrigung ist aber in kaltem Klima von besonderer Bedeutung.
Die in der Gb-PS 1 347 713 beschriebenen Polyalky!methacrylate
haben ein mittleres Molekulargewicht (Zahlenmittel) von 2x10 bis 10 , die mittlere Anzahl von Kohlenstoffatomen in den Alkyl-
beträgt/ ketten mit 9 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen ,/12,4 bis 13,7 und
befinden sich unter diesen Alkylketten mit 9 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen/rainues-
tens 6 mit einer unterschiedlichen Kohlenstoffzahl.
Es wurde nun festgestellt, dass man dieses Problem durch Verwenden
einer speziellen Kombination von zwei verschiedenen Klassen von Polyalkyl(meth)acrylaten lösen kann.
Die Erfindung betrifft daher ^in Schmierölgemisch, das ein
hydrogecracktes Schmieröl als Grunaöl üna

a) ein öllösliches Polyalkyl(meth)acrylat mit viskositätsindexverbessernaen
Eigenschaften und einem mittleren Molekulargewicht (Gewichtsmittel) von 10 bis 10 , in uem
über 75 Gewichtsprozent der Alkylketten 12 bis 15 Kohlenstoff atome haben, in einer Konzentration von 0,001 bis
20 Gewichtsprozent und
b) ein öllösliches Polyalkyl(meth)acrylat-mit Pourpoint
erniedrigenden Eigenschaften und einem mittleren Molekulargewicht (Gewichtsmittel) von 10 bis 10 , in dem höchstens
75 Gewichtsprozent der Alkylketten 12 bis 15 Kohlenstoff-
. atome und 10 bis 90 Gewichtsprozent der Alkylketten mindestens 16 Kohlenstoffatome haben, in einer Konzentration

in der US-PS 2 655 479 ist bereits offenbart, dass man eine synergistische Pourpoint erniedrigende Wirkung erhalten kann,
wenn man ein Gemisch von zwei verschiedenen Polyalkylmethacrylaten
verwendet. Dieses Gemisch enthält hauptsächlich PoIyalky!methacrylate
mit Alkylketten mit 8 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, wobei die-mittlere Alkylkettenlänge etwa 12,7 bzw.
etwa 13,5' beträgt. Diese Patentschrift bezieht sich auf lösungsmittelextrahierte Öle (konventionelle öle), es finaet
sich kein Hinweis auf die Pourpoint-Erniedrigung von hyctrogecrackten
Schmierölen (unkonventionelle Öle).
Das im' erfindungsgemässen Schmierölgemisch verwendete Grunüöl
kann ein in der NE-PS 7613854 beschriebenes öl sein, ein-

schliesslich eines XHVI-Öls. Vorzugsweise hat das Grundöl einen
Viskositätsindex von mindestens 120, insbesondere von mindestens 140.
Diese Grundöle können mit anderen Ölen vermischt sein, wie mit lösungsmittelextrahierten Schmierölen, tierischen oder pflanzlichen
Ölen, synthetischen ölen, wie Polyqlefinen, Esterölen
sowie mit wjLe
oder Polyoxyalkylen-ülen,/Rückstandsfraktionen, / Brightstock,
oder mit hydrierenü behandelten Fraktionen, wie hydrierend behandelten
Extrakten von Destillaten oder Rückständen.
Das im erfindungsgemässen Schmierölgemisch verwendete Zusatzmittel
a) wirkt als Viskositätsindexverbesserer. Ist kein anuerer Viskosxtatsinaexverbesserer vorhanden, so wird aas Zusatzmittel
a) vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 1 bis 1O Gewichtsprozent
verwendet. Bei Anwesenheit eines anaeren Viskositätsindexverbesserers genügt im allgemeinen eine Menge von 0,05 bis 1 Gewichtsprozent
des Zusatzmittels ä), um die synergistische Pourpoint erniedrigende Wirkung mit dem Zusatzmittel b) zu
erreichen.
Die 12 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatome'enthaltenden Alkylketten ues
Zusatzmittels a) leiten sich vorzugsweise von einem Gemisch von geradkettigen una verzweigten synthetischen Alkoholen ab, die
man durch Hydroformylierung erhält, insbesondere durch Umsetzen eines Gemisches von Olefinen mit 11 bis 14 Kohlenstoffatomen,
mit Kohlenmonoxid und Wasserstoff in Gegenwart eines komplexen Katalysators, der aus Kobalt, Kohlenmonoxid und einer Phosphor-

/allgemeinen verbindung besteht. Die üabei entstehenden Alkohole enthalten im/
5 bis 25 Gewichtsprozent verzweigte Alky!ketten.
Im Zusatzmittel a) sollen höchstens 25 Gewichtsprozent der
Alkyl(meth)acrylate von anderen Alkoholen stammen, insbesonuere
von primären Alkoholen, wie synthetischen (geraakettigen ana
verzweigten, z.B. 5 bis 25 Gewichtsprozent verzweigten) Alkoholen mit 9 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen, synthetischen oder vorzugsweise
natürlichen (gerädkettigen) C1, ,„-Alkoholen, von niederen
Alkoholen mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder von Alkoholen mit über 1b Kohlenstoffatomen.
Auch Zusatzmittel a), die zusätzlich zu einem oder mehreren dieser Monomeren eine geringe Menge, z.B. höchstens 1O Gewichtsprozent,
polare Monomere enthalten, wie gegebenenfalls substituierte Vinylpyridine, gegebenenfalls substituierte
Vinylpyrrolidone oder Hydroxylgruppen enthaltende Monomere, können ebenfalls verwendet werden.
Die Zusatzmittel a) haben ein mittleres Molekulargewicht

(Gewichtsmittel Mw) von 2x10 bis 10 , insbesondere von 5x10 bis 5x10 .. Um eine gute Scherstabilität zu gewährleisten,
sollten sie eine niearige Molekulargewichtsverteilung hauen,
d.h. das Verhältnis von Gewichtsmittel (Mw) zu Zahlenmittel (Mn) sollte niedrig-sein, z.B. 1,5 bis 5, insbesonuere 2 bis 4,
betragen (Q = Mw/Mn). Gegebenenfalls können die Zusatzmittel
vor der Verwendung einer Scherbehandlung unterworfen v/eruen.

Die im erfindungsgemässen Schmierölgemisch verwendeten Zusatzmittel
a) können als Pourpoint-Erniedriger wirken; im allgemeinen jedoch hat ein Zusatzmittel a) allein keine Wirkung auf
den Pourpoint eines XHVI-öls.
Als Zusatzmittel b) für das erfindungsgemässe Schmierölgemisch
sind die in den GB-PSen 1 163 807 und insbesondere 1 347 713
beschriebenen Verbindungen geeignet. D.h./ dass die für aas Zusatzmittel a) beschriebenen C1«_.. ^-Alkylketten bevorzugt sina,
wogegen axe anderen Alkylketten sich vorzugsweise von synthetischen
Alkoholen mit 9 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen und/oaer von
synthetischen oder vorzugsweise natürlichen Alkoholen mit 16 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen und gegebenenfalls Alkoholen mit 1
bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oaer von Alkoholen mit über 18 Kohlenstoffatomen
ableiten. Die Anwesenheit von Alkoholen mit 16 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen in Mengen von mindestens 10 Gewichtsprozent
ist besonders erwünscht. Das Zusatzmittel b) kann auch eine geringe Menge, z.B. höchstens 10 Gewichtsprozent, an
polaren Monomeren, wie die für das Zusatzmittel a) beschriebenen, enthalten.
Das Zusatzmittel b) wird im erfinaungsgemässen Schmierölgemisch
vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 0,01 bis 2 Gewichtsprozent verwendet.
Die Zusatzmittel b) haben ein mittleres Molekulargewicht (Ge-Wichtsmittel,
Mw) von 2x10 bis 10 ,insbesondere von 2x10 bis 5x10 . Der Q-Wert sollte vorzugsweise niedrig sein und z.B.

Die Zusatzmittel a) und b) können aem Grundöl als solche oaer
in Form eines Konzentrats von Zusatzmittel· a) una/ouer Zusatzmittel
b) in einem Trägeröl zugesetzt werden. Dieses Konzentrat kann z.B. 20 bis 75 Gewichtsprozent Zusatzmittel a) uncx/ouer
b) in z.B. einem Mineralschmieröl als Trägeröl enthalten.
Im erfindungsgemässen Schmierölgemisch können auch noch anuere Zusatzmittel verwendet werden, wie Antioxidantien,Reinigungsmittel,
andere Viskositätsindexverbesserer, korrosionshemmende Mittel, Hochdruckmittel und schaumbremsenue Mittel.
Die Beispiele erläutern die Erfindung.
Beispiele 1 bis 4
Die Zusatzmittel a) und b) werden in verschiedenen hyurogecrackten
Grunaölen getestet.
Grundöl 1: hyarogecracktes Schmieröl mit einem Pourpoint von
-15°C und einem Viskositätsinaex von 149.
Grundöl 2: Grundöl 1 und handelsübliche' Zusatzmittelkombination
für Benzinmotoröle.
Grunaöl 3: 88 Gewichtsprozent Grunaöl 1 und 12 Gewichtsprozent hydrierend behandelter Brightstock mit einem Visko-

Grundöl 4: Grundöl 3 und Zusatzmittelkombination aes Grunaöls

Claims (9)
1. Schmierölgemisch, enthaltend ein hydrogecracktes Schmieröl
als Grunciöl und
a) ein öllösliches Polyalkyl(meth)acrylat mit viskositätsindexverbessernden
Eigenschaften und einem mittleren Molekulargewicht (Gewichtsmittel) von VO bis 10 , in dem
über 75 Gewichtsprozent der Alkylketten 12 bis 15 Kohlenstoff atome haben, in einer Konzentration von 0,001 bis
20 Gewichtsprozent und
b) ein öllösliches Polyalkyl(meth)acrylat mit Pourpoint
erniedrigenden Eigenschaften und einem mittleren Molekulargewicht
(Gewichtsmittel) von 10 bis 10 , in dem höchstens 75 Gewichtsprozent der Alkylketten 12 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatome
und 10 bis 90 Gewichtsprozent aer Alkylketten mindestens 16 Kohlenstoffatome" haben, in einer Konzentration
von 0,001 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent.
2. Schmierölgemisch nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das hydrogecrackte Grundöl einen Viskositätsindex von
mindestens 120 hat.
3. Schmierölgemisch nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass das Zusatzmittel a) ein Polyalkylmethacrylat mit verzweigten
und geraden Alkylketten mit 12 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen
iat.

4. Schmierölgemisch nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
aass sich die Zusatzmittel a) und/oder b) von Monomeren,
denen
von/höchstens 10 Gewichtsprozent polare Gruppen enthalten,
ableiten.
5. Schmierölgemisch nach Anspruch 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
aass das Zusatzmittel b) ein Polyalkylmethacrylat mit mindestens sechs verschiedenen Alkylresten mit 9 bis 1b Kohlenstoffatomen
ist.
6. Schmierölgemisch nach Anspruch 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass das Zusatzmittel b) ein Polyalkylmethacrylat ist, in dem sich die Alkylreste von verzweigten und geradkettigen
Alkoholen mit 9 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen und von geraakettigen Alkoholen mit 16 und 18 Kohlenstoffatomen ableiten.
7. Schmierölgemisch nach Anspruch 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass die Alkylreste mit 9 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen 5 bis 25 Gewichtsprozent verzweigte Ketten enthalten.
8. Schmierölgemisch nach Anspruch 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass das Verhältnis von Gewichtsmittel zu Zahlenmittel des Molekulargewichts (Q-Faktor) des Zusatzmittels a) unu b)
1,5 bis 5 beträgt.
9. Konzentrat für das Schmierölgemisch nach Anspruch 1, die Zusatzmittel a) und b) in einem Trägeröl enthaltend.
