Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein katalytisches Verfahren zur Herstellung von olefinischen Kohlenwasserstoffen aus
den entsprechenden gesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen mit 3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, bei dem man die als
Ausgangsmaterial verwendeten Kohlenwasserstoffe in Gegenwart eines eine Metallverbindung enthaltenden
Trägerkatalysators bei 400-7000C und bei Drucken im
Bereich von etwa 1 —20 bardehydriert.
Die Verwendung von Chromoxid/Aluminiumoxid als *o
Katalysatoren zur Herstellung von Olefinen aus offenkettigen, gesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen ist bekannt.
Diese Katalysatoren haben jedoch eine sehr kurz.e Lebensdauer und müssen zur Aufrechterhaltung
ihrer Aktivität häufig regeneriert werden. *5
In der DE-OS 22 55 498 ist ein Katalysator zum Dehydrieren von gesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen
beschrieben, der
(a) Aluminiumoxid,
(b) mindestens ein Metall aus den Gruppen Vl A oder VII A des Periodensystems, wie Molybdän, Wolfram
oder Rhenium, und
(c) mindestens ein Metall aus den Gruppen HI B, IV B
und V B, wie Gallium, Indium, Thallium, Germanium, Zinn, Blei, Antimon oder Wismut, sowie
gegebenenfalls
(d) mindestens ein Metall aus der Gruppe VIII, wie Platin, Iridium, Palladium, Rhutenium oder Rhodium,
enthält und durch eine bestimmte spezifische Oberfläche sowie eine bestimmte Neutralisationswärme bei der
Amnioniakadsorption gekennzeichnet ist. Dieser Katalysator
muß jedoch vor dem Einsatz in dem katalyti- ·" sehen Dehydrierungsverfahren reduziert werden.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, ein verbessertes Verfahren /um Dehydrieren von gesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen
zu den entsprechenden Olefinen zu schaffen, bei dem ein Katalysator mit höherer Lebensdauer als herkömmliche Dehydrierungskatalysatoren
eingesetzt wird, der darüber hinaus nicht vorreduziert werden muß.
Diese Aufgabe wird bei einem Verfahren der eingangs genannten Art mit einem Katalysator gelöst,
der aus Galliumoxid auf einem Aluminiumoxid- oder Siliciumdioxid-Träger oder aus Galliumionen, die an
oberflächlichen Hydroxylgruppen eines oberflächenaktiven Oxids aus der Gruppe hydratisiertes Aluminiumoxid
und hydratisiertes Siliciumdioxid ausgetauscht worden sind, besteht, wobei der Galliumanteil in den
Katalysatoren 0,01 bis 20Gew.-%, belogen auf den
Gesamtanteil des Trägers im Katalysator, beträgt
Als Ausgangsmaterial werden ein oder mehrere offenkettige Kohlenwasserstoffe mit 3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen
mit gerader oder verzweigter Kette verwendet Vorzugsweise enthält das Ausgangsmaterial
einen oder mehrere Kohlenwasserstoffe aus der Gruppe Propan, Butan, Isobutan und Pentan,
Zur Herstellung des Katalysators verwendbare Galliumverbindungen sind z. B. Galliumoxid, Galliumsulfat
und Galliumnitrat Der Caliiumanteil in den Katalysatoren kann 0,01 bis 20 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise
0,1 bis 6 Gew.-°/o, bezogen auf den Gesamtanteil des Trägers im Katalysator, betragen.
Beispiele für Träger für die Galliumkatalysatoren der Erfindung sind Siliciumdioxid und Aluminiumoxide, wie
η-Aluminiumoxid, γ-Aluminiumoxid und Boehmit sowie
hydratisierte Aluminiumoxide und Siliciumdioxide, deren oberflächliche Hydroxylgruppen gegebenenfalls
durch Galliumionen und gegebenenfalls andere Metallionen aus der Gruppe der Aluminium-, Eisen- und
Nickelionen ausgetauscht sind. Besonders bevorzugt sind Siliciumdioxidträger, insbesondere solche, deren
oberflächliche Hydroxylgruppen ausgetauscht sind. Die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Katalysatoren können
zur Verbesserung ihrer Aktivität auch andere Metalle in geringen Mengen enthalten, beispielsweise Palladium,
Platin, Indium, Thallium, Germanium, Chrom, Zinn und/oder Zink.
Die Katalysatoren lassen sich herstellen, indem man den Träger mit einer wäßrigen Lösung einer löslichen
Galliumverbindung, beispielsweise Galliumnitrat, imprägniert. Der auf diese Weise gebildete Brei wird unter
vermindertem Druck zur Trockne eingedampft und anschließend bei erhöhten Temperaturen in einem
Luftstrom pyrolysiert Bei der Verwendung von oberflächenaktivem Siliciumdioxid oder Aluminiumoxid
als Träger werden die Hydroxylgruppen vorzugsweise durch Galliumionen ausgetauscht.
Der auf diese Weise hergestellte Katalysator kann in Form eines Festbetts verwendet und im Reaktionsrohr
selbst aktiviert werden. Die Aktivierung läßt sich durchführen, indem man den Katalysator bei der
vorgesehenen Reaktionstemperatur mit einem geeigneten Gas, wie Stickstoff oder Luft, spült.
Die Dehydrierung wird zweckmäßigerweise bei einem Reaklionsdruck von etwa I bis 20 bar, vorzugsweise
etwa 1 bis 5 bar, durchgeführt.
Die als Ausgangsmaterial verwendeten gesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffe mit 3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen
werden anschließend bei Temperaturen von 400 bis 700'C, vorzugsweise 500 bis 600"C. über den Katalysator
geleitet. An der Untergrenze des angegebenen Bereichs der als Ausgangsmaterial verwendeten Kohlenwasserstoffe
sind höhere Temperaturen erforderlich.
während mit steigender Anzahl der Kohlenstoffatome in der Vorlage bei Anwendung von relativ geringen
Temperaturen innerhalb des angegebenen Bereichs optimale Ausbeuten erhalten werden. Die Umsetzung
kann in inerter Atmosphäre durchgeführt werden. Unter »inerter Atmosphäre« ist ein Gas zu verstehen,
das unter den Reaktionsbedingungen inert ist, beispielsweise Wasserstoff. Der Wasserstoff kann während der
Reaktion in situ freigesetzt werden. Die Reaktionsprodukte werden anschließend identifiziert und isoliert
Das dehydrierte Produkt kann ohne vorherige Isolation direkt dimerisiert und in einer Stufe zu einer
aromatischen Verbindung cyclisiert werden. Beispielsweise kann Propan zu Propylen dehydriert werden, das
wiederum in einer Stufe durch Dimerisieren und Cyclisieren zu Benzol umgesetzt werden kann. Auf
ähnliche Weise läßt sich Isobutan zu Isobuten dehydrieren, das durch Dimerisieren und Cyclisieren zu
Xylolen umgesetzt werden kann.
Obgleich die öehydrierungs- und Cyclodimerisierungsreaktionen
gleichzeitig ablaufen, läßt sich die Zusammensetzung des Produktgemisches durch sorgfältige
Einhaltung von bestimmten Reaktionsbedingungen kontrollieren. Beispielsweise läuft für ein bestimmtes
Ausgangsmaterial die Dehydrierung normalerweise an der Untergrenze des angegebenen Temperaturbereichs
ab, während die Drehydrocyclodimerisation zu den entsprechenden aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen
an der Obergrenze des angegebenen Temperaturbereichs vorherrscht.
Die Dimerisierjng und Cyclisierung kann unter
Verwendung des gleichen, für die Dehydrierung verwendeten Katalysators durchgeführt werden. Somit
können gesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffe über einem einzigen Katalysator unter Anwendung einer Kombination
von Reaktionsbedingungen zu den cyclischen Produkten umgesetzt werden. Sofern die cyclisierten
aromatischen Verbindungen das gewünschte Endprodukt darstellen, kann ein gemischtes Ausgangsmaterial
aus gesättigten und ungesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen verwendet werden.
Die Beispiele erläutern die Erfindung. Die Kontaktzeiten berechnen sich auf NTP(O0C, 1 bar).
Herstellung eines Ga203/Siliciumdioxid-Katalysators
Eine Lösung von 4,9 g Galliumnitrat (Ga(NOj)3 · 8 H2O) in 15 ml destilliertem Wasser wird
zu 13 g in 15 ml destilliertem Wasser suspendiertem Crosfields U 40-Siliciumdioxid gegeben. Das Gemisch
wird über Nacht in einem Vakuumtrockenschrank zur Trockne eingedampft und sodann 6 Stunden in Luft bei
5500C erwärmt. Man erhält Galliumoxid-auf-Siliciumdioxid
(6 Gew.-% Gallium).

56i°C und die Kontaktzeit 5,6 Sekunden. 24,4 Gew.-% der Butane werden zu 19,4 Gew.-°/o Butenen umgesetzt,
was einer Selektivität von 793 Prozent entspricht Nach
4stündigem Durchströmen werden 23,9 Gew.-rA) der
Butane zu 17,6 Gew.-°/o Butenen umgesetzt, was einer

Kohlenwasserstoffen umgesetzt
Isobutan wird über Galliumoxid-auf-Siliciumdioxid (6 Gew.-°/o Gallium) geleitet. Die Reaktionstemperatur
beträgt 5900C und die Verweilzeit 6,2 Sekunden. Nach
60minütigem Durchströmen werden 65,1 Prozent Isobutan umgesetzt. Man erhält als Hauptprodukte
(Ausbeuten in Gewichtsprozent) Butane (393 Prozent), Butene (38,7 Prozent), Ci-CrKohlenwasserstcffe
(9,4 Prozent) und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe (9,2 Prozent).
In diesem Beispiel wird als Träger Siliciumdioxid verwendet, das Galliumionen enthält, die an oberflächlichen
Hydroxylgruppen ausgetauscht worden sind. Isobutan wird über diesen Galliumoxid/Siliciumdioxid-Katalysator
(23 Gew.-% Gallium) geleitet. Die Reaktionstemperatur
beträgt 6300C und die Verweilzeit 6,1 Sekunden. Nach I stündigem Durchströmen werden
84,2 Prozent des Isobutans umgesetzt. Als Hauptprodukte erhält man (Ausbeuten in Gew.-%) Butene (32.9
Prozent; Selektivität 39 Prozent), Ci-Cj-Kohlenwassersfoffe
(28,7 Prozent) und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe (18 Prozent).
Claims (3)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von olefinischen Kohlenwasserstoffen aus den entsprechenden gesättigten
Kohlenwasserstoffen mit 3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, bei dem man die als Ausgangsmaterial
verwendeten Kohlenwasserstoffe in Gegenwart eines eine Metallverbindung enthaltenden Trägerkatalysators
bei 400—7000C und bei Drucken im Bereich von etwa 1—20bar dehydriert, dadurch i<
> gekennzeichnet, daß man einen Katalysator einsetzt, der aus Galliumoxid auf einem Aluminiumoxid-
oder Siliciumdioxid-Träger oder aus Galliumionen, die an oberflächlichen Hydroxylgruppen eines
oberflächenaktiven Oxids aus der Gruppe hydratisiertes Aluminiumoxid und hydratisiertes Siliciumdioxid
ausgetauscht worden sind, besteht, wobei der Galliumanteil in den Katalysatoren 0,01 bis
20Gew.-%, bezogen auf den Gesamtanteil des Trägers im Katalysator, beträgt
