Description
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist die Verwendung von Phosphororganosilanen als Haftvermittler zwischen
organischen Bindemitteln und Stoffen mit anorganischen, oxidischen und/oder metallischen Oberflächen.
Es ist bereits bekannt. Fasern oder Gewebe aus Glas oder Metallbleche mit zahlreichen organischen Polymeren
ein- oder beidseitig zu beschichten und auf diese vVeise Schicht- oder Verbundstoffe aus diesen Materialien
herzustellen. Eine gute Haftung zwischen den organischen und den anorganischen Komponenten ist
jedoch ohne Haftmittel nicht gegeben, weil eine Verankerung der beiden Komponenten in den Grenzflächen
ohne andere Hilfsmittel nicht ausreicht, um die für Werkstoffe notwendigen mechanischen Eigenschaftswerte
zu erbringen. Außerdem läßt eine Haftung zwischen anorganischen Stoffen wie Glas oder Metall
bei längerer Einwirkung von Feuchtigkeit erheblich nach, so daß schon wiederholt versucht worden ist, diese
Mängel des Verbundes durch Hilfsstoffe zu beeinflussen. Beispielsweise beschreibt die deutsche Patentschrift
10 10 941 die Vorbehandlung oxidischen Materials mit organischen Siliciumverbindungen, die Vinylreste enthalten.
Die deutsche Auslegeschrift 12 42 358 schlägt für
diesen Zweck die Verwendung von Organosiliciumverbindungen mit Aminogruppen vor. Für manche
Anwendungszwecke genügt jedoch die mit diesen Haftvermittlern erzielte Haftfestigkeit nicht oder die
Transparenz, besonders bei Glasschichtsteffen, ist ungenügend.
Es wurde nun überraschenderweise gefunden, daß Phosphorverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel

eine erhöhte Haftfestigkeit zwischen anorganischen Oxiden und/oder Metallen und Bindemitteln für diese
Substanzen ergeben.
In vorstehend genannter allgemeiner Formel können

Bedeutung 1 bis 20; R steht für gleiche oder verschiedene aliphatische Reste mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen;
A bedeutet gleiche oder ungleiche zweiwertige Alkylen- oder Arylenreste und gegebenenfalls zweiwertige
Oxyalkylen- bzw. Oxyarylenreste, die über ihren Sauerstoff mit dem P-Atom verbunden sind; B ist
vorzugsweise ein zweiwertiger Sauerstoffrest, kann jedoch auch -NH-, -NR- oder -S- sein, wenn ρ
gleich 1 ist.
Die mit der erfindungsgemäßen Verwendung von Phosphororganosilanen hergestellten Verbundkörper
aus organischen Bindemitteln und anorganischen Oxiden oder Metallen zeigen wesentlich verbesserte
mechanische Festigkeiten infolge Haftungsverbesserung, wie Messungen der Naßfestigkeit in Biege- und
Zugversuchen an Modellkörpern zeigen. Weiterhin haben sie den Vorteil, daß sie teilweise eine hohe
Transparenz besitzen und keine Verfärbungen auch bei
längerer Lagerung zeigen.
Die organischen Bindemittel, deren Haftung auf den anorganischen Substraten hergestellt wird, umfassen
Polyadditionsprodukte, z.B. Epoxidharze, Urcthanharze
oder Polyesterharze, Polykondensationsprodukte, wie z. B. kalt- und/oder warmhärtende Phenolaldehydharze,
und Polymerisationsprodukte, z. B. auf der Basis von Polyvinylchlorid und/oder Copolymere aus Vinylchlorid
und Vinylacetat, Äthylen, Methacrylsäureestern etc.
Als Komponenten mit anorganischen oxidischen Oberflächen finden beispielsweise Glas, Quarz, Diatomeenerde,
Sand, Asbest, Glimmer, Korund, Eisenoxide, Calciumcarbonat, Calciumsulfat u.a. Verwendung.
Geeignete metallische Oberflächen sind insbesondere Eisen, vergütetes Eisen, Zink, Aluminium, Zinn und
Titan. Die anorganischen Komponenten können z. B. in Form von Fasern, Vliesen, Vorgespinsten, Pulvern,
Matten oder Geweben usw. vorliegen. Metalle beispielsweise in Form von Blechen oder Drähten.
Von besonderem technischen Interesse sind insbesondere Glasfasern, -vliese und -gewebe, sowie Bleche, die
mit zahlreichen organischen Polymeren zu Schichtstoffen verarbeitet werden.
Als erfindungsgemäße Haftvermittler geeignete Phosphororganosilane seien die nachstehend im einzelnen
aufgeführten Verbindungen beispielshaft genannt. In den Formeln kann R sowohl für die Methyl- als auch
für eine Äthyl- oder Propylgruppe stehen.

Die erfindungsgemäßen technischen Vorteile können erzielt werden durch die Vorbehandlung der anorganischen
Substrate mit den beanspruchten Phosphororganosilanen, indem man sie als Schlichte oder Finish
durch beispielsweise Tauchen, Spritzen, Sprühen oder Bestreichen aufbringt, oder durch Einbringung der
beanspruchten Phosphororganosilane als haftvermitteinde
Hiifsstöffe in die organischen Bindemittel.
Wird nach der Methode der Vorbehandlung der anorganischen Substrate gearbeitet, so können diese
vorteilhaft durch Tauchen in ein Bad, das die phosphororganische Siliciumverbindung gelöst enthält,
vergütet werden. Das Bad enthält den gelösten Haftvermittler in einer Konzentration von 0,05 bis 5
Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 0,1 bis 2 Gew.-°/o. Als Lösungsmittel lassen sich Alkohole, wie z. B. Äthanol, Isopropanol
u. a, Äther, Benzine, Chlorkohlenwasserstoffe und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe verwenden. Bevorzugt
werden jedoch unbrennbare Lösungsmittel, wie z. B. Wasser und dessen Gemische mit den genannten
organischen Lösungsmitteln. Im FalL·* der Verwendung
niedrig konzentrierter Lösungen dts Haftvermittlers kann die Tauchbehandlung mehrmals nacheinander
erfolgen.
Nach Beendigung des Tauchvorgangs kann die Imprägnierung mit dem erfindungsgemäß verwendeten
Haftvermittler durch Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels und eine Wärmebehandlung zwecks Aushärtung beendet
werden.
Anschließend an den Tauchvorgang — oder einer entsprechend anderen Arbeitsweise des Aufbringens
der Silanlösung auf die Oberfläche — wird das Lösungsmittel verdampft. Bei niedrig siedendem
Lösungsmittel genügt ein Stehenlassen bei Zimmertemperatur; eine Wärmebehandlung bis zu den Siedetemperaturen
des Lösungsmittels ist jedoch auch möglich. Letztere wird bevorzugt, wenn gleichzeitig
eine Aushärtung des Verbundes zwischen Oberfläche und Imprägniermittel erfolgen soll.
Wird nach der Methode der Einbringung in das organische Bindemittel gearbeitet, so genügt es, die
jeweilige Phosphororganosiliciumverbindung nach an sich bekannten Methoden dem Harz in di;r Weise
unterzumischen, daß eine gleichmäßige Verteilung eintritt. Hierbei werden ebenfalls Haftmittelkonzentrationen
von 0,05 bis 5 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 0,1 bis 2 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Harz, angewandt. Hierbei
zeigt sich ein weiterer Vorteil der Erfindung gegenüber bekannten, insbesondere Aminogruppen oder Doppelbindungen
enthaltenden Stoffen in der verbesserten Lagerstabilität verschiedener Harz-Haftmittelgemische,
z. B. bei Epoxidharzen.
Die Erfindung wird durch folgende Beispiele demonstriert:
Man stellt mit 2-TriäthoxisjIyläthanphosphonsäurediäthylester
eine leicht saure, 2%ige hydrolysierte wäßrige Lösung her und verdünnt diese Grundlösung
für die Behandlung von Glasfasern je nach Wunsch 2-bis 5fach mit destilliertem Wasser. Die so erhaltene
Lösung wird zum Schlichten von hitzeentschlichteten Glasfasern benutzt Nach dem Trocknen bei Zimmer-
in temperatur werden die Glasfasern in Epoxid-Harzstäbe
eingearbeitet und das Harz bei 1300C ausgehärtet Die
Trockenbiegefestigkeit dieser Rundstäbe beträgt 10 100 kg/cm2, die Naßfestigkeit nach feuchter Lagerung
9500 kg/cm3.
In gleicher Weise wurden mit Glasfasern verstärkte E^oxid-Harzstäbe hergestellt, die als Haftvermittler
y-Aminopropyltriäthoxisilan enthalten. Die Stäbe hatten
eine Trockenfestigkeit von nur 9400 kg/cm2, die Naßfestigkeit lag bei 9000 kg/cm2.
Man stellt als Grundlösung für die Behandlung von Glasgewebe, welches vorher temperaturentschlichtet
wurde, eine 2°/oige Lösung (40% Wässer + 60% Äthanol) mit 2-Triäthoxisilyläthanphosphonsäurediäthylester
her und seut diese nach dem Verdünnen mit Äthanol zum Finishen von Gewebe ein. Das aus diesem
Gewebe hergestellte Laminat zeigt bessere Transparenz und höhere Biegefestigkeit als ein solches, das
unter Verwendung bisher bekannter üblicher Haftvermittler hergestellt wurde.
In einem Glaskolben mit Rührwerk und Rückflußkühler werden 0,66 kg Phenol (90%ig) und 3,1 kg einer
•in wäßrigen (37%ig) FormaldehydlösiKg zusammen mit
0,74 kg Harnstoff 20 Minuten lang auf 1000C erwärmt. Nach dieser Zeit gibt man 1,54 kg Phenol (9O°/oig),
2,07 kg einer wäßrigen (37%ig) Formaldehydlösung und 0,15 kg techn. Furfurylalkohol in der vorgenannten
•n Reihenfolge zu. Der Kolbeninhalt wird wieder auf
1000C erwärmt. Man läßt sodann 0,0127 kg NaOH
(100%ig) am besten in Form einer 30 bis 40%igen wäßrigen Lösung eintropfen. Die Temperatur von
100° C wird über 55 Minuten gehalten. Danach destilliert
ίο man im Vakuum so viel Wasser ab, bis eine Viskosität von ca. 3000 cP erreicht ist.
2000 g Haltener Sand H 32 werden mit 50 g des obengenannten Harzes, dem 0,2 g Haftvermittler
beigegeben waren, mit 7,5 g eines Härters, bestehend
Vi aus einer wäßrigen Lösung von 25 Gew.-% Ammoniumnitrat
und 40 Gew.-% Harnstoff, in einem geeigneten Zwangsmischer innig miteinander vermischt. Die
erdfeuchte Mischung gibt man sodann in eine Kernschießmaschine zur Herstellung der Prüfstäbe. Das
w) Gemisch wird mit einem Druck von ca. 7 atü in eine
2250C heiße Form geschossen. Nach wahlweise einstellbaren Verweilzeiten öffnet sich die Form
automatisch. Die Stäbe werden entnommen und entweder sofort nach Entnahme aus der Kernschieß-
hi maschine oder nach Erkalten in einem + GF +
Fesiigkeitsprüfgerät auf Biegefestigkeit geprüft.

Claims (1)
- Patentanspruch:Verwendung von Phosphororganosilanen der allgemeinen Formel ϊO R1Ii I(ROhP- (Am— BJ,- An- Si(OR)j_.tIUin der m, η, ρ und χ für O oder 1 steht, y Werte zwischen 1 und 20 annehmen kann, R gleiche oder verschiedene aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffreste mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen, A gleiche oder ungleiche zweiwertige Alkylen- oder Arylenreste und gegebenenfalls zweiwertige Oxyalkylen- bzw. Oxyarylenreste, die über ihren Sauerstoff mit dem P-Atom verbunden sind, und B die Gruppen — O— oder, wenn ρ gleich 1 ist, -NH-, -NR- oder -S-sind, als Haftvermittler zwischen Stoffen mit anorganischen oxidischen und/oder metallischen Oberflächen und organischen Bindemitteln für diese Stoffe.
