Description
Für die Herstellung von Organopolysiloxan-Elastomeren und -Harzen mit hoher Festigkeit gegenüber
organischen Lösungsmitteln können Silane, an deren Si-Atomen neben einem Cyanalkylrest ein Kohlenwasserstoffrest
und zwei hydrolysierbare Atome oder Gruppen gebunden sind, als wertvolle Ausgangsstoffe
dienen. Derartige Silane können beispielsweise durch Anlagerung von Methyldichlorsilan an ungesättigte
Nitrile mit mehr als 3 Kohlenstoffatomen in Gegenwart von Katalysatoren hergestellt werden. Die dabei
erzielten Ausbeuten sind zwar befriedigend, ungesättigte Nitrile mit mehr als 3 Kohlenstoffatomen sind
jedoch im Gegensatz zu Acrylnitril nur schwer zugänglich. An Acrylnitril läßt sich jedoch nur Trichlorsilan
in nennenswerter Ausbeute anlagern, während die bei der Cyanäthylierung von z. B. Methyldichlorsilan
nach den bisher bekannten Verfahren erhaltenen Ausbeuten für eine wirtschaftliche Auswertung
zu gering sind. Man mußte deshalb bisher in das Cyanäthyltrichlorsilan z. B. mit Hilfe der
Grignard-Reaktion in einer weiteren Stufe und unter Hinnahme von Verlusten durch Bildung von Nebenprodukten
einen Kohlenwasserstoffrest einführen, um zu den erwünschten Silanen zu gelangen.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß die Cyanäthylierung von Monoorganosilanen durch Umsetzung von Acrylnitril
mit Silanen der allgemeinen Formel

worin R einen Kohlenwasserstoffrest und X hydrolysierbare Alkoxy- oder Aroxyreste, die jeweils halogeniert
sein können, wie insbesondere der ß-Chloräthoxyrest,
oder Halogenatome bedeutet, in Gegenwart von Katalysatoren bei Temperaturen zwischen
40 und 35O0C mit guten Ausbeuten erfolgt, wenn als
Katalysator eine Kombination von Platin mit heterocyclischen Aminen oder Verbindungen der allgemeinen

In den zur Umsetzung verwendeten Silanen stellt R vorzugsweise den Methylrest dar. Als weitere Beispiele
für R seien genannt: Alkylreste, wie Äthyl-, Propyl-, Butyl- und Pentylreste, Cycloalkylreste, wie
Cyclopentyl-, Cyclohexyl-, Methylcyclopentyl-, Äthylcyclohexylreste,
sowie Arylreste, wie Phenyl-, Naphthyl-, Tolyl- und Methylnaphthylreste. X ist vorzugsweise
Chlor.
Das Verhältnis von Acrylnitril zu Silan kann zwischen 1 : 20 und 20: 1 liegen, vorzugsweise liegt
der Bereich zwischen 1 : 2 und 2:1.
Die Umsetzung wird in dem für die Cyanalkylierung von Silanen üblichen Temperaturbereich,
nämlich zwischen 40 und 3500C, vorzugsweise zwischen 175 und 25O0C und insbesondere zwischen
225 und 235°C durchgeführt.
Das Platin wird zweckmäßig in Form von Platinchlorwasserstoffsäure,
insbesondere in Form des Hexahydrates der Formel H2PtCl6 · 6 H2O, dem umzusetzenden
Gemisch aus Silan und Acrylnitril zugesetzt. Da sich Platinchlorwasserstoffsäure bzw. das
Hydrat in polaren Lösungsmitteln, wie Alkoholen, Wasser, Glykolen und Estern, lösen läßt, ist es wegen
der einfacheren Handhabung und zur Erleichterung des Abmessens der sehr geringen Mengen an Platin
zweckmäßig, Lösungen des Katalysators anzuwenden. Es werden je Mol an Acrylnitril mindestens 10~8 Mol
Platin, vorzugsweise 10~6 bis 10~3 Mol Platin, verwendet.
Bessere Ausbeuten werden erzielt, wenn dem Reaktionsgemisch ein inerter Stoff, auf dem sich das
Platin niederschlagen kann, wie Kieselsäuregel, Asbest, y-Aluminiumoxyd und insbesondere Aktivkohle zugesetzt

hergestellt. Ausbeute: 173 g = 20,6% der Theorie. Ohne gleichzeitige Verwendung von H2PtCl6/
Aktivkohle beträgt die Ausbeute nur 85 g = 10,1 % der Theorie.
Nach der im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Arbeitsweise wurde unter Verwendung von 50 g Pyridin an Stelle
des p-Aminobenzonitrils /J-Cyanäthylmethyldichlorsilan
hergestellt. Ausbeute: 342 g = 40,7 % der Theorie.
In einem Glasgefäß wurden 575 g (5 Mol) Methyldichlorsilan und 265 g (5 Mol) Acrylnitril gemischt.
Diese Mischung wurde zunächst mit 50 g 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-methylphenol,
dann mit 5 g Aktivkohle und schließlich mit 5 ml Isopropanol, die 125 mg Pt in Form von H2PtCl6 · 6 H2O gelöst enthielten, verrührt.
Die Mischung wurde in dem im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Edelstahlautoklav nur 3V2 Stunden auf 197 bis 2000C
erhitzt. Nach dem Abkühlen wurde das Reaktionsprodukt, ^-Cyanäthylmethyldichlorsilan, nach der im
Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Arbeitsweise aufgearbeitet. Ausbeute: 100 g = 11,9% der Theorie. Ohne gleichzeitige
Verwendung von H2PtCl6/Aktivkohle werden
47 g = 5,6 % der Theorie Ausbeute erhalten.
In einem Glasgefäß wurden 1150 g (10 Mol) Methyldichlorsilan
und 265 g (5 Mol) Acrylnitril gemischt. Diese Mischung wurde zunächst mit 5 g 2,6-Di-tert.-4-butyl-methyl-phenol
und 20 g Hexamethyl-p-rosanilin-hydrochlorid, dann mit 5 g Aktivkohle und
schließlich mit 5 ml Isopropanol, die 125 mg Pt in Form von H2PtCl6 · 6 H2O gelöst enthielten, verrührt.
Die Mischung wurde in dem im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Autoklav 107a Stunden auf 225 bis 235°C erhitzt.
Nach dem Abkühlen wurde das Reaktionsgemisch nach der im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Arbeitsweise
aufgearbeitet. Ausbeute an /3-Cyanäthylmethyldichlorsilan:
256 g = 30,5 % der Theorie.
Wird in Abwesenheit des Phenols gearbeitet, so beträgt die Ausbeute nach 20stündigem Erhitzen
15,4% der Theorie.
In Abwesenheit von Platin/Aktivkohle beträgt nach 12stündigem Erhitzen die Ausbeute 14,0 % der Theorie.
Bei alleiniger Anwendung von Platin/Aktivkohle beträgt nach 12stündigem Erhitzen die Ausbeute 13 %·
Nach der im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Arbeitsweise wurden unter Verwendung von 65 g cyanäthyliertem
p-Aminobenzonitril der Formel

hergestellt nach »Angewandte Chemie«, 1949, S. 235, 246 g ^-Cyanäthylmethyldichlorsilan, das sind 29,3 %
der Theorie, erhalten.
Bei der im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Arbeitsweise wurden bei Ersatz des p-Aminobenzonitrils durch 70 g
der Verbindung
HCON(CH2CH2CN)2
hergestellt nach »Angewandte Chemie«, 1949, S. 236, 821g (26% der Theorie) ß-Cyanäthylmethyldichlorsilan
erhalten.
Bei der im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Arbeitsweise wurde das p-Aminobenzonitril durch 70 g eines cyanäthylierten
Amins, das durch Umsetzung von 54 g 4,4'-Diamino-diphenylmethan mit 106 g Acrylnitril
in Gegenwart von 0,5 g Natrium erhalten wurde, ersetzt. Es wurden 234 g (28% der Theorie) ß-Cyanäthylmethyldichlorsilan
erhalten.
Beispiele 10 bis 18
Jeweils 1150g Methyldichlorsilan (10 Mol) und 265 g Acrylnitril (5 Mol) wurden mit den in der
folgenden Tabelle angegebenen Arten und Mengen von chinoiden Farbstoffen und 5 ml Isopropanol, die
125 mg Platin in Form von H2PtCl6 · 6 H2O gelöst
enthielten, sowie 5 g Aktivkohle versetzt und im Autoklav innerhalb von IV2 bis 2 Stunden auf 23O0C
erhitzt. Nach jeweils 12 Stunden Erhitzen bei dieser Temperatur und Abkühlen wurde nach der im Beispiel
1 beschriebenen Arbeitsweise aufgearbeitet.

Claims (9)
1. Verfahren zur Cyanäthylierung von Monoorganosilanen
durch Umsetzung von Acrylnitril mit Silanen der allgemeinen Formel
H-Si-X2
worin R einen Kohlenwasserstoifrest und X hydrolysierbare Alkoxy- oder Aroxyreste, die gegebenenfalls
halogeniert sein können, oder Halogenatome bedeutet, in Gegenwart von Katalysatoren bei
Temperaturen zwischen 40 und 3500C, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß als Katalysator eine Kombination von Platin mit heterocyclischen Aminen,

worin R' Alkylreste mit 1 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen, die Cyangruppen tragen können, oder
Wasserstoffatome sind, Dialkylcyanamiden, cyanäthylierten Aminen, cyanäthylierten Säureamiden,
Diarylaminen, sogenannten »gehinderten Phenolen« oder chinoiden Farbstoffen verwendet wird.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Umsetzung in Gegenwart von
inerten Trägerstoffen für Platin, insbesondere Aktivkohle, erfolgt.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Cokatalysator Pyridin verwendet
wird.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Cokatalysator p-Aminobenzonitril
verwendet wird.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Cokatalysator Dirnethyl-
oder Diäthylcyanamid verwendet wird.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Cokatalysator 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-methylphenol
verwendet wird.
7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Cokatalysator ein Triphenylmethanfarbstoff
verwendet wird.
8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Cokatalysator Kristallviolett verwendet wird.
9. Verfahren nach Ansprüchen 1, 2, 6 und 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Cokatalysator ein
Gemisch aus Kristallviolett und 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-methylphenol
verwendet wird.
