Description

食品包装的超声密封方法及系统
背景技术
本发明一般涉及一种食品包装的超声密封(ultrasonic sealing)方法及系统,尤其涉及一种在食品周围直接形成食品包装并对食品包装进行超声密封的方法及系统。
通常销售到消费者市场的食品都要用包装材料包装。典型的食品包装材料包括塑料薄膜、箔片包装或基于纸的包装材料。实践中,食品放入包装材料中,然后将装有食品的包装材料密封。有很多用于密封包装材料的传统方法。
传统上,可以采用基于冷胶(cold glue-based)的密封法或热基(thermal-based)密封法来密封食品包装材料。冷胶密封一般需通过例如压力以使预先涂布在包装材料边缘上的冷胶粘合剂活化。实践中,为容纳食品,包装材料可被制成所期望的形状。为了密封包装材料,包装材料通常会经过密封装置。密封装置通常会对其上预先涂布有冷胶的包装材料的边缘施加压力。密封装置所施加的压力使包装材料边缘处的冷胶活化,以使含有冷胶的包装材料的边缘粘合并密封该食品包装。基于冷胶的密封通常可产生能够用于食品包装应用的足够强度的密封。能够用于食品包装的足够强度的密封通常足够的强以使包装材料在运输和处理过程中其边缘保持接合在一起,而在人们打开包装时很容易地分开。
遗憾的是,传统的基于冷胶的密封方法有一些明显的缺点,这些缺点包括包装过程中的不连续性和中断性。例如,基于冷胶的密封所产生的典型问题是会形成有缺陷的密封。例如,当预先涂布在包装材料上的冷胶的量不足时,就会产生有缺陷的密封。当预先涂布在包装材料上的冷胶的量不足时,包装材料的边缘就不能完全地粘在一起。如果包装材料的边缘不完全地粘在一起,空气就会进入包装材料,从而对食品产生不利的影响。当施加到带有冷胶的包装材料边缘的压力不足以使冷胶活化时,基于冷胶的密封可能出现另一个问题。当冷胶没有充分或完全活化时,包装材料的边缘可能会互相脱离,从而破坏了密封的完整性。正确的密封完整性是指在包装的外部和包装的内部之间的密封不存在通道。当密封的完整性被破坏时,空气会进入到包装内,并可能对食品质量造成负面的影响。通常,在碾压段(laminated field)内插入有昂贵的防护屏障。这些屏障或密封用于保护密封的包装内的产品的完整性。然而,如果出现通道,则屏障将失去作用。
基于冷胶的密封的另一个典型缺点是,为了形成正确的密封,通常需要非常精确地对准包装材料的边缘。如果包装材料的边缘在经过密封装置时不能精确地对准,则包装中的气团或褶皱可能在密封中形成“通道”,这些“通道”是密封中的间隙,通过这些通道,空气能够进入包装材料内。如上所述,空气进入包装会对食品质量造成负面的影响。
基于冷胶的密封的另一缺点是冷胶可能对加工车间的环境变化敏感。例如,如果车间内的温度或湿度达到一个临界水平,则冷胶可能会变为部分活化,从而导致冷胶粘到不期望的表面上,如输送包装材料的薄板或辊子上。当冷胶过早地活化并粘到不期望的表面上时,包装处理的整体速度将受到影响,例如会造成包装处理的停工。
基于冷胶的密封还有一个缺点是,冷胶密封需要被密封的包装材料的密封部分相当宽。例如,冷胶密封需要10-15毫米的密封以维持密封所需的完整性。因为冷胶密封要求相对大的密封部分,所以密封部分占包装食品所需包装材料的很大一部分。另外,在包装处理中,系统的部件可能会被卡住。因而,可能由于系统中断而造成系统停工。
第二种密封食品包装材料的传统方法是热基密封法。在热密封中,通常不需对包装材料涂布粘合剂。取而代之的是将包装材料从一对被加热了的夹钳(jaw)之间穿过来密封包装材料。这对夹钳通常由热传导加热,例如,可以使电流通过安装在这对夹钳上的加热部件而加热夹钳。随着包装材料的边缘穿过加热了的一对夹钳之间,边缘会部分熔化并相互粘合在一起。
热密封同样也具有许多缺点。例如,与基于胶的密封相比,热密封通常比较慢,热密封较慢是因为包装材料的边缘必须被充分加热到熔化而形成密封,因而需要比较长的时间。但是,热密封相对于基于胶的密封也有一些优点。例如,热密封比基于胶的密封具有更好的密封完整性。然而,热密封通常比基于胶的密封慢一个数量级。另外,胶密封通常对密封区出现的食品材料敏感。在密封区出现的食品材料通常会破坏密封。因而,传统的包装材料密封应用经常被迫在密封完整性和密封速度之间进行选择。
超声密封可以用来克服基于冷胶的密封或热基密封中的上述一些缺点。通常,在超声密封中,超声能量取代了传导热或粘胶以用于对待包装的材料的密封。注入到包装材料中的超声能量通常会加热包装材料,从而导致包装材料局部熔化并粘合以形成密封。
在历史上,超声粘结是作为基于胶或基于热的粘结技术的替代而出现的。总的来说,在不同的应用中采用超声粘结技术已经有一段时间。超声粘结已很好地应用在密封诸如热塑料、纺织品以及更近的食品包装密封等应用中。
通常,在包装材料的超声密封中,通过使包装材料在超声激励的熔接头(horn)与固定或旋转砧座(anvil)之间穿过,从而将超声能量施加到包装材料上。典型的超声熔接头由具有良好声学品质的金属材料(如铝或钛)制成。典型的砧座也由金属材料(如钢或铝)制成,并且被置于与超声熔接头相对的位置上。熔接头内的超声震动一般是通过外部电源向可将电能转换为机械振动的电动机械变换器或转换器(如压电晶体)提供振荡电能而产生的。通常,机械震动随后被振幅变压器或放大器放大为预定的工作振幅。所述放大器通常与超声熔接头直接相连,并供应超声熔接头使用的超声振动。通常超声熔接头在20Khz到40Khz之间震动。
通常,当包装材料在超声激励的熔接头与固定的砧座或鼓之间被压缩时,就形成了超声密封。受到超声激励的熔接头在包装材料上施加超声振动能。该超声能量导致包装材料变热。随着包装料变热,包装材料局部熔化,并且沿着通常由砧座设计所指明的图案而粘合在一起。随着包装离开熔接头和砧座,局部熔化的包装冷却,从而形成了超声密封。
如上所述,超声密封相对于传统的基于冷胶的密封或热基密封有许多优点。例如与冷胶密封相比,超声密封通常提供了更加可靠的密封完整性。使用超声密封可获得更可靠的密封完整性的原因在于密封中并不使用粘胶。因此,在超声密封中就不会出现粘胶所产生的问题,如压力不够、不能充分活化冷粘合剂等。进一步,在超声密封中通常不会出现诸如出现通道的特有粘合问题。通常,由于超声密封直接一起加热并熔化包装材料,因此其密封完整性高于冷胶。相对于冷胶而言,包装材料的超声密封的另一个优点是,其密封宽度比冷胶的密封宽度窄得多。这种密封宽度的减少可以降低用于形成密封的包装材料的比例,从而减少用于包装食品所需的包装材料。由于减少了包装材料的消费总量,包装材料数量的减少可以导致整体加工成本的降低。
与传统的基于热的密封相比,超声密封也有许多优点。超声密封相对于热基密封的第一个优点是速度。超声能量直接注入包装材料导致包装材料的熔化与密封比热基密封更为迅速。
如上所述,超声密封已被成功地用于超声密封包装材料。超声密封的包装材料典型地包括三种密封,即,前端密封、后端密封以及从前端密封延展到后端密封的纵向边缘密封。尽管至少有一种系统采用超声密封以既密封两端又密封纵边,但通常超声密封只用于密封前端及后端或密封纵向边缘。
名称为“超声密封装置”的美国专利No.4373982(‘982专利)示出了一种用于对塑料薄膜的纵向边缘进行超声密封的装置。如‘982专利的图5所示,该装置包括成型结构40、砧座44和超声熔接头50。在工作中,塑料薄膜34被供应给成型结构40,成型结构40将塑料薄膜成型为具有相邻边缘的管状。塑料薄膜34的相邻边缘随后从超声熔接头50和固定的砧座44之间穿过。随着塑料薄膜34的相邻边缘在超声熔接头50和固定砧座44之间经过,边缘被超声密封以形成纵向超声密封。在纵向超声密封形成之后,塑料薄膜34保持固定,同时利用传统的胶或基于粘合剂的密封技术以形成前端密封和后端密封。‘982专利的装置用于对塑料薄膜34的纵边进行间歇的、不连续的密封。由于塑料薄膜34的间歇运动,由超声熔接头50施加给塑料薄膜34的能量必须受到控制。
名称为“用于对包装进行超声密封的装置和方法”的美国专利No.4517790(‘790专利)示出了用于对包装材料前端和后端进行超声密封的方法。如图1所示,‘790发明专利包括超声封端组件46,该超声封端组件46包括包装薄膜F,被旋转驱动轴50旋转的回退砧座48,以及超声熔接头52。在工作中,包装薄膜F被供应给超声封端组件46。包装薄膜F随后从单边超声熔接头52和单边回退砧座48之间通过,以形成超声端密封。包装薄膜F的纵边已经被密封。单边熔接头52和可旋转的单边回退砧座48相协同地一起上下竖直运动。也就是说,超声熔接头52和回退砧座48在特定的时间同步地相互靠近,从而限制了包装薄膜F并将其超声密封以形成超声端密封。‘790专利的装置仅仅包括带有单边的超声封端单元、竖直运动的超声熔接头以及单边、可旋转的回退砧座。
名称为“用于超声密封的方法和装置”的美国专利No.4534818(‘818专利)示出了一种用于对作为形成与填充包装机械的一部分的包装材料进行超声端密封和超声纵边密封的方法。对纵边密封而言,‘818专利的方法与上面参照982专利的描述是实质相同的。至于端密封,如图1所示,‘818专利的方法包括安装在可移动上夹钳(jaw)16上的超声熔接头12以及安装在可移动下夹钳18上的超声砧座14。
在工作中,包装材料被形成为管状结构,其纵边被超声密封以形成如‘982专利所示的边缘密封的包装材料。下一步,超声边缘密封的包装材料从可移动上夹钳16和可移动下夹钳18之间经过,可移动上夹钳16和可移动下夹钳18随后压缩包装材料,随着可移动上夹钳16和可移动下夹钳18的压缩,安装在可移动上夹钳16上的超声熔接头12压缩在其与超声砧座14之间的包装材料。如上所述,超声熔接头12将超声能量注入包装材料,以形成超声端密封。这样食品包装现在就已被纵边密封和前端密封。在超声前端密封完成后,食品被放入前端和纵边已被密封的食品包装中。最后,前端和纵边已被密封并且其中带有食品的食品包装在可移动上夹钳16和可移动下夹钳18之间经过以形成后端密封。为形成后端密封,可移动上夹钳16和下夹钳18以与形成前端密封类似的方式夹紧在包装材料上。安装在可移动上夹钳16上的超声熔接头12与包装材料相接触,并注入超声能量以形成超声后端密封。一旦完成了后端密封,带有食品的食品包装密封就完成了,与‘790专利的装置一样,在‘818专利中,在将食品装入包装之前必须进行边缘密封和一端的密封。
如上所述,现有技术系统的一个局限之处是其不能在未进行纵边密封和至少一端密封之前将食品放入包装中。对于其它一些应用来说,诸如上面描述的这些需要在将食品放入包装之前进行完全的超声边缘密封和端密封的系统可能在最优化方面不足。例如,在进行超声边缘密封和端密封的同时,间歇地将食品放入包装中会限制包装处理的速度。另外,将食品放入包装内而不在密封中留下任何食品也是困难的。
因此,存在着对更快捷高效的食品包装系统的需求。此外存在着对将基于冷胶的密封的速度和热基密封的强度和完整性结合在一起的食品密封系统的需求。另外,存在着使用连续流水式包装系统以取代加工和填料式的包装系统的需求。
发明内容
本发明的优选实施例提供了一种用于直接在食品周围对食品包装进行超声密封的方法和系统。本发明的优选实施例包括可将食品包装和食品传送给直接产品包装形成装置(direct on-item-packaging forming box)的食品包装定位单元。所述直接产品包装形成装置随后直接将产品包装包在食品上方。食品包装完全包在食品周围,并在食品下方的竖直向下的翼片(fin)方向上形成重合端,从而产生了局部包装的食品。被局部包装的食品随后优选地进入超声食品包装翼片密封单元。然后,在进行端密封之前,食品包装在所提供的食品周围受到超声翼片密封,以形成局部密封的食品包装。局部密封的食品包装随后进入超声封端单元,该单元对食品周围的局部密封的食品包装进行端密封和压褶。此举的结果是使分别包装并完全超声密封的食品产生连续流。

具体实施方式
图1示出了依据本发明优选实施例的典型的超声食品包装系统100。该超声食品包装系统100包括食品包装定位单元110,食品传送系统120、超声食品包装翼片密封单元130、以及超声食品包装封端单元140。食品包装定位单元110包括直接产品包装形成装置116。
如以下进一步描述的那样,直接产品包装形成装置116将产品包装包在未包装食品121的周围,以形成局部包装的食品118。超声食品包装翼片密封单元130对局部包装的食品118进行翼片密封,以形成局部密封的食品包装122。超声食品包装封端单元140对局部密封的食品包装122进行超声端密封,以形成完全密封的食品124。
食品传送系统120运送食品通过该超声食品包装系统100,食品传送系统120从上一工序,例如食品制造机械(未示出),经过直接产品包装形成装置116、超声食品包装翼片密封单元130以及超声食品包装封端单元140,延展到下一工序(未示出)。如上所述,在进入食品包装定位单元110时,食品传送系统120运送的食品是未包装的食品121。随着食品传送系统120的前进,其运送的材料在进过直接产品包装形成装置116之后变为局部包装的食品118,进而在超声食品包装翼片密封单元130之后变为局部密封的食品包装122,并在封端单元140之后变为完全密封的食品124。
除直接产品包装形成装置116之外,食品包装定位单元110还包括食品包装辊112,食品包装113,以及食品包装导辊114。食品包装辊112是食品包装113的卷筒或卷轴。食品包装113未被用于密封产品包装的胶或粘合剂处理过。如图所示,食品包装辊112经由一系列的食品包装导辊114将食品包装113供应给直接产品包装形成装置116。导辊114帮助对食品包装113进行定位。另外,在食品包装113向直接产品包装形成装置116运动时,导辊114以期望的张力维持食品包装113。可以采用由食品包装113制成的板或网来取代食品包装辊112。直接产品包装形成装置116接收食品包装113以及来自食品传送系统120的未包装食品121。
下面将参考图2进一步描述食品包装翼片密封单元130。在系统的处理进程中,食品包装翼片密封单元130位于直接产品包装形成装置116之后,超声食品包装封端单元140之前。
下面将参考图3进一步描述食品包装封端单元140。在系统的处理进程中,食品包装封端单元140位于食品包装翼片密封单元130之后。在食品包装封端单元140之后,食品传送系统120可将完全包装的食品124传送到传送系统或其它包装系统(未示出),举例来说,所述的其它包装系统可将完全包装的食品124分组装入塑料袋或纸盒以用于运输。
本优选实施例中,食品被形成为糖果产品块,如单独包装的块状糖。未包装的食品121以如图1所示的一路纵队直行的形式被传送系统120传送。可选地,未包装的食品121也可以被形成为块状以外的其它形状如滴剂状、正方形或其它预先形成的形状。本发明其它优选实施例可以应用于诸如格兰诺拉麦片条、小点心以及其它食品。
再次说明产品包装定位单元110的直接产品包装形成装置116。在工作中,未包装的食品121由食品传送系统120供应到直接产品包装形成装置116。食品包装113也从食品包装辊112供应到直接产品包装形成装置116。直接产品包装形成装置116将食品包装113包在未包装的食品121周围以形成局部包装的食品118。
直接产品包装形成装置116形成局部包装的食品118需要多个步骤。首先,直接产品包装形成装置116将食品包装113覆盖在未包装的食品121的上面。下一步,食品包装113的纵边被完全包在未包装食品121的周围和下面。这样,食品包装113的纵边通常与食品传送系统120相垂直地向下竖直排列。如图5所示,食品包装113的纵边随后被压在一起以形成局部包装食品118,该局部包装食品118带有由排成一行的压到一起的纵边组成的翼片540。局部包装食品118随后被食品传送系统120传送到食品包装翼片密封单元130。
现在说明超声食品包装翼片密封单元130。如图5所进一步示出的,翼片密封单元130接收带有翼片540的局部包装的食品118。在翼片密封单元130中,正如后面参照图2将进一步描述的那样,翼片540从超声翼片密封熔接头232和旋转砧座轮220之间经过。随着翼片540在超声密封熔接头232和旋转砧座220之间经过,超声能量被注入翼片540。该超声能量导致翼片的纵边密封在一起,从而形成翼片密封530,一旦翼片530被密封,局部包装的食品118将变为局部密封的食品包装122。如图1所示,不密封局部密封的食品包装122的前端或后端,而对其以连续条状形式进行翼片密封。局部密封的食品包装122随后被食品传送系统120传送到超声封端单元140。
现在说明超声封端单元140。超声封端单元140接收局部密封的食品包装122。在超声封端单元140,局部密封的食品包装122从超声端密封熔接头315和旋转砧座320之间经过。正如后面结合图3将进一步说明的那样,局部密封的食品包装122在超声端密封熔接头315与旋转砧座320之间受到周期性的压缩。随着局部密封的食品包装122被压缩,超声能量被注入局部密封的食品包装122,该超声能量导致局部密封的食品包装122粘合,从而形成端密封。局部密封的食品包装122在超声端密封熔接头315和旋转砧座320之间连续前进,在端密封形成之后,完全密封的食品124随后被工具(未示出)压皱并分离。
如上所述,完全密封的食品124随后被传送到如进一步包装系统以进行下一步处理(未示出),例如收寄与打包集中贴标(pick-and-packTM)系统。
图2示出了依据本发明优选实施例的超声食品包装翼片密封单元200。超声食品包装翼片密封单元200包括一对送进辊(infeed rollers)210、旋转砧座轮220、连接器带225、砧座饲服驱动器或气动砧座传动装置240、导出辊250、翼片折叠辊(fin fold down rollers)260、驱动马达270和超声单元230。超声单元230包括超声翼片密封熔接头232、超声放大器234以及气动划板(air-operated slide)235。图2也示出了图1所示的局部包装的食品118和局部密封的食品包装122。
如图1所示,超声食品包装翼片密封单元200接收来自直接产品包装形成装置116的局部包装的食品118。如上所述,局部包装的食品118带有翼片540。一对送进辊210位于翼片密封单元200的入口处。优选地,送进辊210水平地彼此相对排列,并接收局部包装的食品118的翼片540。在送进辊210之后,局部包装的食品118从超声单元230的超声翼片密封熔接头232和旋转砧座轮220之间经过。优选地,超声翼片密封熔接头232和旋转砧座轮220水平排列并彼此相对,用以接收局部包装的食品118的翼片540。超声翼片密封熔接头232和旋转砧座轮220协同工作以对翼片540进行密封,从而形成局部密封的食品包装122。正如下面所描述的,在超声翼片密封期间以及被连接带225转动时,旋转砧座轮220由砧座饲服驱动器240调整。在翼片密封熔接头232和旋转砧座轮220之后,局部密封的食品包装122从一对导出辊250之间经过。这对导出辊250优选地水平排列并彼此相对,用以接收局部密封的食品包装122的翼片540。该对导出辊250被驱动马达270旋转。与旋转砧座轮220相邻的导出辊250由连接带225连接到旋转砧座轮220。连接带225使旋转砧座轮220与导出辊250一起旋转。在一对导出辊250之后,局部密封的食品包装122被送往翼片折叠辊260。
可选地,旋转砧座轮220可以是固定的,旋转砧座轮220也可是金属桶(metal drum)。在另一个备选方案中,局部包装食品118可以利用传送器或导轨而不是利用辊子经由食品包装翼片密封单元200向前运动。在本发明的另一实施例中,送进辊210、导出辊250、翼片折叠辊260和超声单元230和旋转砧座轮220可以不是水平地彼此相对排列而是竖直地彼此相对排列,在该采用竖直排列方式的实施例中,局部包装的食品118可由侧传送器向前传送穿过系统。
在工作中,如上述对图1的描述,局部包装的食品118从直接产品包装形成装置116供应给超声食品包装翼片密封单元200。带有翼片540的局部包装的食品118被由驱动马达270旋转的导出辊250拖过超声食品包装翼片密封单元200。如图5所示,随着局部包装的食品118进入超声食品包装翼片密封单元200,送进辊210将局部包装的食品118的纵边压在一起,从而维持翼片540的下垂方向。送进辊210随后将翼片540送往旋转砧座轮220和超声翼片密封熔接头232之间。
随着局部包装的食品118的翼片540从旋转砧座轮220和超声翼片密封熔接头232之间经过,它被注入了来自超声翼片密封熔接头232的超声能量。注入到翼片540内的超声能量导致翼片540的纵边局部熔化并粘合。翼片540纵边的粘合形成了超声翼片密封530,从而产生了局部密封的食品包装122,在超声翼片密封期间,砧座饲服驱动器240在翼片540上维持旋转砧座轮220的期望的工作压力及其排列。类似地,气动划板235在翼片540的另一面维持超声翼片密封熔接头232的期望的工作压力及其排列。
在局部包装的食品118被超声翼片密封之后,作为结果的局部密封的食品包装122在导出辊250之间经过。导出辊250在驱动马达270的驱动下以期望的速度旋转。导出辊250将局部密封的食品包装122供应给翼片折叠辊270,翼片折叠辊270将与局部密封的食品包装122的底边成直角地向下垂直排列的翼片密封540向上折叠,折叠到与局部密封食品包装122的底边齐平的水平位置。正如后面图3中进一步描述的那样,在经过翼片折叠辊260之后,局部密封的食品包装122被供应给超声封端单元140。
图3示出了依据本发明的优选实施例的超声食品包装封端单元300。该超声食品包装封端单元300包括带有四个超声端密封熔接头315的超声熔接头单元310、带有四个卷边322的旋转砧座320、超声放大器330、压载调压器332、超声转换器340和旋转连接器350。图3也示出了图1所示的局部密封的食品包装122和完全包装并密封的食品124。
如图1所示,超声食品包装封端单元300接收来自超声食品包装翼片密封单元200的局部密封的食品包装122。在超声食品包装封端单元300的入口处是超声熔接头单元310。在本优选实施例中,该超声熔接头单元包括4个超声熔接头315,这四个超声端密封熔接头315优选地围绕超声熔接头单元310上的中心点相互间隔90度旋转角排列。超声熔接头单元310通过旋转连接器350与超声放大器330、超声转换器340以及压载调压器332相连。该旋转连接器350沿着同一轴连接并水平对齐超声放大器330、超声转换器340、压载调压器332和超声熔接头单元310。
超声食品包装封端单元300还包括旋转砧座320,该旋转砧座320垂直地位于超声熔接头单元310的下方。优选地,超声熔接头单元310和旋转砧座320彼此相对地竖直排列,并接收局部密封的食品包装122。超声熔接头单元310和旋转砧座320协同工作,以密封局部密封的食品包装122的端部,从而形成完全密封的食品124。在本优选实施例中,旋转砧座320也包括四个围绕旋转砧座上的中心点彼此间隔90度旋转角的边。
可选择地,超声熔接头单元310可包括更多或更少的熔接头,例如2个或8个超声熔接头,并且可以将这些超声熔接头定位为不同的角度。超声熔接头的数量和角度取决于期望的产品的长度。可选地,旋转砧座320的棱边可以更多或更少。例如2个或8个棱边,并且可以定位为不同的角度。
在本发明的另一可选实施例中,超声熔接头单元310和旋转砧座320可以水平地相对排列。在水平排列的实施例中,局部密封的食品122进入超声食品包装封端单元300时,其翼片在其一侧。超声熔接头单元310和旋转砧座单元320随后沿着水平轴旋转,并对局部密封的食品122进行超声端密封。
在工作中,局部密封的食品包装122从超声食品包装翼片密封单元200供应给超声食品包装封端单元300。局部密封的食品包装122随后从超声熔接头单元310和旋转砧座320之间经过。优选地,通过超声放大器330为熔接头单元310的超声振荡供电。超声放大器330放大从超声转换器340接收的振荡。超声转换器340通过采用诸如压电晶体等将振荡电信号转换为振荡运动。
在工作中,超声激励的熔接头单元310和旋转砧座320以相似的速率旋转。超声激励的熔接头单元310和旋转砧座320的旋转速率应使局部密封的食品包装122被以期望的压力在超声端密封熔接头315中的一个和旋转砧座320的一个卷边322之间周期性地压缩。
随着局部密封的食品包装122被压缩,来自超声端密封熔接头315的超声能量被注入局部密封的食品包装122,该超声能量导致局部密封的食品包装122的翼片540部分熔化并粘合,从而形成端密封,进而产生完全密封的产品124。另外,如图3所示,局部密封的食品包装122的末端可被端挤压并分离以形成单独的完全密封的食品124。举例来说,完全密封的食品124可能被送往下一工序的包装机械(未示出),诸如用于分拣并将单独的完全密封的食品124进一步包装的收寄与打包集中(pick-and-packTM)贴标分拣器等。
图4示出了依据本发明优选实施例的超声食品密封系统的流程图400。首先,在步骤410中,直接产品包装形成装置116接收食品包装113。在步骤420中,直接产品包装形成装置116接收食品121。下一步,在步骤430中,食品包装113被形成在食品121的周围以形成局部包装的食品118。随后,在步骤440中,局部包装的食品118受到超声翼片密封以形成局部密封的食品122。在步骤450中,局部密封的食品包装122的翼片密封被向下折叠。下一步,在步骤460中,局部密封的食品122被超声端密封以形成完全密封的食品124。最后,在步骤470中,完全密封的食品124的前端和后端被压褶和分离。
图5示出了依据本发明优选实施例所述的经过超声翼片密封的局部密封的食品包装122的主视剖面图500。该主视剖面图500包括外包装510,内装食品520,超声翼片密封530以及食品包装翼片540。
如主视剖面图500所示,外包装510被直接折叠包装在内装食品520之上。食品520的截面区域是任意的,例如食品520的截面区域可以是椭圆形(如图5所示)、长方形、梯形或圆形等。外包装510的上部与内装食品520的上部直接接触。外包装510还完全折叠包在内装食品520的周围,以形成竖直垂在内装食品520的下方的食品包装翼片540。如图所示,食品包装翼片540如上所述地被超声翼片密封单元130进行超声翼片密封,从而形成了超声翼片密封530。
图6示出了依据本发明优选实施例所述的经过超声翼片密封的局部密封的食品包装122的剖面立体图600。剖面立体图600包括外包装610、内装食品620,超声形成的翼片密封630和产品间隙650。
如剖面立体图600所示,外包装610被直接折叠包在内装食品620之上。也就是说,外包装610的上部与内装食品620的上部直接接触。外包装610还北完全包在内装食品620的周围,并随后被超声翼片密封以形成超声翼片密封630。如图6所示,产品间隙650是内装食品620之间的间隔。在工作中,图4所示的超声封端单元140在外包装610的产品间隙650处工作。图4所示的超声封端单元140挤压、密封并可能压褶并分开在产品间隙650处的外包装610,从而产生如上面参照图3所述的被单独密封和包装的食品124。
图7示出了直接产品包装形成装置700的立体图710和侧视图750。立体图710包括直接产品包装形成装置700、超声翼片密封单元200的送进辊210、食品包装113,用于传送未包装的食品121的食品传送系统120,以及局部包装的食品118。

直接产品包装形成装置700包括一对成型杆715和一对侧成型板720。一对成型杆715位于直接产品包装形成装置700的入口处,并与一对侧成型板720相连。在系统的处理过程中,送进辊210直接位于成型杆对710之后。
在工作中,如前面在图1中所述,食品包装113从产品包装定位单元110被供应给直接产品包装形成装置700。在直接产品包装形成装置700的入口处,最初的食品包装113在成型杆对715下面经过。在侧成型板对720之间,成型杆对715向下引导食品包装113。侧成型板对720随后在一系列步骤中将食品包装113直接包在所供应的未包装的食品121的周围。在第一步中,食品包装113被折叠包在未包装的食品121的上部。下一步,食品包装被包在未包装的食品的周围和下部。最后一步,食品包装113的边缘在未包装的食品121的下方一同向下对齐,以形成在未包装食品下方的翼片540,结果形成了局部包装的食品118。食品包装的翼片540随后在超声翼片密封单元200的送进辊210之间经过。该送进辊210将食品包装113的翼片540夹在一起,并把局部包装的食品118供应给超声食品包装翼片密封单元130。如前面对图2的描述,局部包装食品118在超声食品包装翼片密封单元130中被超声翼片密封。
在直接产品包装形成装置700的侧视图750进一步示出了在侧成型板对720之间、在成型杆对715的下方向下经过的食品包装113。随着食品包装113在侧成型板对720之间通过,食品包装113的翼片540在送进辊210之间经过。
图8示出了超声翼片密封单元200的送进辊210的两个实施例800,其包括沟槽式或螺纹式送进辊810以及聚亚安酯涂层式送进辊820。图8还包括用于送进辊210的三个工作结构:沟槽对沟槽或螺纹对螺纹结构830、沟槽对聚亚安酯涂层结构840、聚亚安酯涂层对聚亚安酯涂层结构850。
沟槽式送进辊810包括输送槽815和空的中心孔817。输送槽815沿沟槽式送进辊810的四周延展。输送槽815被取向为向下的螺线。沟槽式送进辊810还包括中心孔817以允许其与旋转装置(未示出)相连接。
聚亚安酯涂层式送进辊820包括带有中心孔817的光面辊823和聚亚安酯涂层825。选用聚亚安酯是因为它能抓住食品包装,但是可以用其它有抓住功能的物质来取代它,如橡胶或基于橡胶的涂层。聚亚安酯涂层825沿光面辊823的外圆周延展。聚亚安酯涂层825可以是相对比较薄的涂层,例如1到5毫米。
沟槽对沟槽结构830包括两个沟槽式送进辊810。如图2所示,这两个沟槽式送进辊810彼此相对地安装在食品包装翼片密封单元200的入口处。这两个沟槽式送进辊810被定向为使输送槽815与两个送进辊之间的一个窄缝基本啮合。正如参照图1的描述那样,在工作中,食品包装的翼片(未示出)从这两个沟槽式送进辊810之间经过。向下定位的输送槽815起到了拉着食品包装的边缘绕着未包装的食品向下运动的作用。食品包装边缘的向下拉动确保了食品包装紧紧地包在未包装的食品上,以减少未包装的食品内的空气量。在超声翼片密封的准备中,向下拉的输送槽815还维持了食品包装翼片的对齐,并将其压在一起,从而防止了可能导致系统停工的不期望的滑动。
沟槽对聚亚安酯涂层结构840包括沟槽式送进辊810和聚亚安酯涂层式送进辊820。如图2所示,该沟槽式送进辊810和聚亚安酯涂层式送进辊820彼此相对地安装在食品装翼片密封单元200的入口处。沟槽式送进辊810被定向为使输送槽815与聚亚安酯涂层式送进辊820直接邻接,其间带有窄缝。正如前面参照图1的描述那样,在工作中,食品包装的翼片(未示出)从这两个送进辊之间经过。沟槽式送进辊810的向下定位的输送槽815起到了拉着食品包装的边绕着未包装食品向下运动的作用。食品包装边的向下拉动确保了食品包装紧紧地包在未包装的食品上,以减少未包装的食品内的空气数量。在超声翼片密封的准备中,向下拉的输送槽815还正确维持了食品包装翼片的对齐,并将其压在一起。
聚亚安酯涂层对聚亚安酯涂层结构850包括两个聚亚安酯涂层式送进辊820。如图2所示,这两个聚亚安酯涂层式送进辊820在食品包装翼片密封单元200的入口处彼此相对地安装。正如前面参照图1的描述那样,在工作中,食品包装的翼片(未示出)在聚亚安酯涂层式送进辊820之间经过。
图9示出了超声翼片密封单元200的旋转砧座轮900的一个实施例。旋转砧座轮900包括砧座本体903、散热孔905、中心孔907和工作边909。图9还包括旋转砧座轮900的工作边909的5种工作结构:平面能量导向器结构920、圆形能量导向器结构930、母滚花-圆形能量导向器结构940、堆栈式圆形能量导向器结构950以及堆栈半径式能量导向器结构960。
旋转砧座轮900包括砧座本体903,砧座本体903包括散热孔905和空的中心孔907。散热孔905绕着砧座本体903的圆周延展。中心孔907位于砧座本体903的中心以使旋转砧座轮900与旋转机构(未示出)相连。位于砧座本体903的外圆周的是工作边909。工作边909绕着砧座本体903的整个外圆周延展,其可以包括下面将进一步描述的5种工作结构中的一种。
在工作中,如图2所示,超声熔接头位于旋转砧座轮900的对面。随着食品包装的翼片从超声熔接头和旋转砧座轮900之间经过,超声能量被注入到超声熔接头和旋转砧座轮900的工作边909之间的食品包装内。如参照图2所详尽描述的那样,注入到食品包装内的超声能量导致材料局部熔化并密封。尽管旋转砧座轮900的工作边909可以是光滑的,但也可采用其他使用能量导向器的结构。典型的能量导向器是在砧座轮的工作边909上凸起的上升表面。能量导向器通常绕着砧座轮的整个圆周延展,并被下面将进一步描述的多种结构所采用。通常,在超声密封中采用了能量导向器时,超声能量被在超声熔接头的边和只与砧座的整个边相对的能量导向器之间引导,这样,使用能量导向器的结果在于它能够更集中地将超声能注入到食品包装中。
在超声密封中可能采用的一种能量导向器结构是平面能量导向器结构920。平面能量导向器结构920包括砧座本体903和平面能量导向器925。能量导向器925的数量、宽度及其间距可以依据超声密封所需的数量和宽度进行调整。在超声密封中使用平面能量导向器925通常可导致相对宽和平滑的超声密封。
在超声密封中可能采用的第二种能量导向器结构是圆形能量导向器结构930。圆形能量导向器结构930包括砧座本体903和圆形能量导向器935。能量导向器935的数量、宽度及其间距可以依据超声密封所需的数量和宽度进行调整。通常,在超声密封中使用圆形能量导向器935会导致其比使用平面能量导向器925产生的超声密封窄。将能量导向器圆形化的结果是当包装材料的边在超声熔接头和旋转砧座轮900的圆形能量导向器935之间通过时,边缘之间的接触面积较小。较小的接触面积导致较窄的密封。
在超声密封中可能采用的第三种能量导向器结构是母滚花-圆形式能量导向器结构940。母滚花-圆形式能量导向器结构940包括砧座本体903、圆形能量导向器947,和一对母滚花能量导向器945。母滚花能量导向器945通常是平面能量导向器,其上刻入了交叉阴影线式(cross-hatched)的图案。当包装材料从超声熔接头和带有母滚花能量导向器945的旋转砧座轮900之间经过时,滚花能量导向器945内的交叉阴影线式图案在食品包装上形成交叉阴影线式的超声密封。相对于平面能量导向器925或圆形能量导向器935,母滚花能量导向器945的优点是强度。使用母滚花能量导向器945形成的超声密封,其强度通常比使用平面能量导向器925或圆形能量导向器935形成的超声密封的强度高。然而,使用母滚花能量导向器945的密封的完整性通常不如使用平面能量导向器925或圆形能量导向器935的密封的完整性好。因此,如母滚花-圆形式能量导向器结构940中所示,母滚花能量导向器945可以与圆形能量导向器935协同使用。结果,母滚花-圆形式能量导向器结构940形成的超声密封具有母滚花能量导向器945的高密封强度以及圆形能量导向器935密封完整性好的优点。
在超声密封中可能采用的第四种能量导向器结构是堆栈式圆形能量导向器结构950。堆栈式圆形能量导向器结构950包括砧座本体903和相互上下堆叠的多个圆形能量导向器955。圆形能量导向器955堆叠的结果是可以产生多重超声密封。
在超声密封中可能采用的第五种能量导向器结构是堆栈半径式能量导向器结构960。堆栈半径式能量导向器结构960包括砧座本体903和相互上下堆叠的多个半径式能量导向器965。半径式能量导向器965与圆形能量导向器955相似,只是能量导向器的半径被增加或缩小,这导致了能量导向器的表面积的加宽或变窄。半径式能量导向器965的超声密封的宽度依赖于所选择的半径。
图10示出了缓冲的超声熔接头的三个实施例1000,其包括标记(flag)组件1010,滤筒组件1020以及直接熔接头缓冲器1030。标记组件1010包括旋转砧座轮1010,超声熔接头1017,缓冲器标记(buffer flag)1015以及标记销1040。旋转砧座轮1010和超声熔接头1020的定位如图2所示,缓冲器标记1015通常由特富龙(Teflon)、卡普顿(kapton)或其他缓冲材料制成。缓冲器标记1015与标记销1040相连。在系统的进程中,标记销1040通常位于旋转砧座轮1010和超声熔接头1017的前面。缓冲器通过密封区散发热能,从而将对密封的穿孔或破坏的风险减到最小。另外,缓冲器可以在无须重新设计系统的情况下优化系统。也就是说,由于缓冲器的使用,在使用不同频率的系统中可以使用不同的包装材料,而无需重新设计该系统来补偿新包装材料和频率。
在工作中,如前面参照图2的描述,食品包装从旋转砧座轮1010和超声熔接头1017之间通过。然而,在标记组件1010中,缓冲器1015被布置在超声熔接头1017的边缘与包装材料之间,缓冲器标记1015用于缓冲从超声熔接头1017的注入包装材料的超声能量。通过去掉注入能量中的任何峰值,使用缓冲信号发生器1015将导致施加到包装材料的超声能量更加均匀。另外,缓冲也提高了密封的固有健壮性。
滤筒组件1020包括旋转砧座轮1010,超声熔接头1017、缓冲带1025和带轮1027。旋转砧座轮1010和超声熔接头1020如图2所示定位。滤筒组件1020典型地由特富龙(Teflon)、卡普顿(kapton)或其他缓冲材料制成。缓冲带1025包在带轮1027上,通常,带轮1027的一个轮子位于超声熔接头1017之前,一轮子在超声熔接头1017之后。
在工作中,如前面参照图2所述的,食品包装从旋转砧座轮1010和超声熔接头1017之间经过。但是,缓冲带1025布置在超声熔接头1017的边缘与包装材料之间。缓冲带1025缓冲从超声熔接头1017注入包装材料的超声能量。缓冲带1025绕带轮1027连续旋转还是间歇地旋转取决于缓冲材料的耐受性和处理的速度。
直接熔接头缓冲器1030包括旋转砧座轮1010和带有缓冲器1035的超声熔接头1017。旋转砧座轮1010和超声熔接头1017如图2所示地定位。缓冲器1035典型地由特富龙(Teflon)、卡普顿(kapton)或其他缓冲材料制成。缓冲器1035通过永久或临时连接或者可替换的自粘合补偿(self-adhesive patch)而与超声熔接头1017的末端直接连接。在工作中,除了缓冲器1035与超声熔接头1017直接相连以外,直接熔接头缓冲器1030与标记组件1010和滤筒组件1020基本类似。
图11示出了超声熔接头的边缘和旋转砧座轮结构的三个实施例1100。超声熔接头的边缘和旋转砧座轮结构的三个实施例1100包括直边熔接头结构1110,曲边熔接头结构1120和累进间隙曲边熔接头结构1130。直边熔接头结构1110包括直边超声熔接头1117和旋转砧座轮1115。如前面参照图2的说明,在工作中,食品包装材料从直边熔接头1117与旋转砧座轮1115之间经过。
曲边熔接头结构1120包括曲边超声熔接头1125和旋转砧座轮1115。在曲边熔接头结构1120中,曲边超声熔接头1125的边缘与旋转砧座轮1115的弯曲部分相啮合。在工作中,曲边超声熔接头1125的边缘与旋转砧座轮1115的弯曲部分相啮合的结果导致了所经过的食品包装与旋转砧座1115的接触面积比其在直边熔接头结构1110中的接触面积大。在直边熔接头结构1110中,只有旋转砧座轮1115的末端与食品包装相接触。而在曲边熔接头结构1120中,食品包装与旋转砧座轮1115的更多部分接触。
累进间隙曲边熔接头结构1130包括累进间隙边缘超声熔接头1135和旋转砧座轮1115。累进间隙曲边超声熔接头1135在入口侧的曲度大,而在出口侧的曲度小。在工作中,随着食品包装从旋转砧座轮1115和累进间隙曲边超声熔接头1135之间通过,食品熔化。食品包装的熔化导致了食品包装厚度的减少。累进间隙弯曲部分致使食品包装和旋转砧座轮1115之间的接触和挤压力最大。当食品包装在熔化前最厚时,累进间隙曲边超声熔接头1135和旋转砧座轮1115的入口处的间隙较大。当食品包装在熔化后变得最薄时,累进间隙曲边超声熔接头1135和旋转砧座轮1115的出口处的间隙较小。
图12示出了依据本发明一个备选实施例所述的旋转砧座1200。旋转砧座1200包括砧座本体1210和砧座边缘1212以及超声熔接头1250。砧座边缘1212包括圆形的能量导向器1220、分离用能量导向器1230和母滚花1240。旋转砧座如图3所示地定位。在工作中,如图3所示,旋转砧座1200与超声熔接头1250协同旋转,以对食品包装进行超声端密封。随着食品包装在旋转砧座1200和超声熔接头1250之间被接触,圆形能量导向器1120和母滚花1240产生了如图9所示的超声密封。随着食品包装被超声密封,分离用能量导向器1230将食品包装切开,以形成单独的食品包装。
上述图1到图12示出了本发明的一系列实施例。然而,对领域的技术人员来说,其他的可选的实施例是显而易见的。例如,在本发明的可选实施例中,取代采用食品包装辊112,可以将食品包装113作为食品包装平板而供给产品包装定位单元110。
在第二个可选实施例中,代替使用食品传送系统120将未包装的食品121传送给产品包装定位单元110,可以使食品包装113沿着传送器前进,并且可将食品121放置在食品包装的上面。例如滴管、传送带或其他设备可以将食品121传送到食品包装113的平板的顶部,这样在第二可选实施例中,就取消了导辊114。随后,在超声翼片密封之前,与优选实施例中将食品包装向下包相反,直接产品包装形成装置116会将食品包装包在食品的上部。在超声翼片密封之后,系统与优选实施例相类似。
在本发明的第三个可选实施例中,超声封端单元140可在多件食品之后而不是在每件食品之后,密封、挤压并分开局部密封的食品包装122的末端。也就是说,代替分别密封每件食品,可以将两个或更多的食品密封进同一个完全密封的食品124中。
在本发明的第四个可选实施例中,超声封端单元140可以对每件食品121分别进行端密封,但在两个或更多件食品’121之后压褶并分开食品包装113。因而,尽管每个单件食品121被密封进它自己的包装内,但两件或更多的食品121可以在一个便利包装中连在一起。
本领域的技术人员应该意识到,尽管对本发明的描述是参照优选实施例进行的,但可以进行不同的改变和替换而不脱离本发明的范围。另外,对本发明所教导的特定的位置和材料可以进行许多修改,而不脱离本发明的范围。因而,这意味着,本发明不受所公开的具体实施例的限制,而包括了所有落入权利要求范围的实施例。

Claims (27)

1.一种用于超声密封食品包装的系统,所述系统包括:
直接产品包装形成装置,其用于直接在食品的周围形成食品包装以形成局部包装的食品;
超声食品包装翼片密封单元,用于对所述局部包装的食品进行超声翼片密封以在所述食品周围形成局部密封的食品包装;以及
超声食品包装封端单元,用于对所述局部密封的食品包装进行超声端密封以在所述食品周围形成完全密封的食品包装。
2.根据权利要求1所述的系统,进一步包括输入传送器,所述输入传送器将食品供应给所述直接产品包装形成装置。
3.根据权利要求1所述的系统,还包括将食品包装连续供应给所述直接产品包装形成装置。
4.根据权利要求1所述的系统,还包括将食品连续供应给所述直接产品包装形成装置。
5.根据权利要求1所述的系统,还包括糖果食品。
6.一种用于对直接形成在食品周围的食品包装进行超声密封的方法,所述方法包括的步骤有:
在食品周围直接形成食品包装,以形成局部包装的食品;
对所述局部包装的食品进行超声翼片密封,以在所述食品周围形成局部密封的食品包装;以及,
对所述局部密封的食品包装进行超声端密封,以在所述食品周围形成完全密封的食品包装。
7.根据权利要求6所述的方法,进一步包括连续供应所述食品。
8.根据权利要求6所述的方法,进一步包括连续供应所述食品包装。
9.根据权利要求6所述的方法,进一步包括糖果食品。
10.一种用于对食品包装进行超声翼片密封的系统,所述系统包括:
旋转砧座轮;以及
超声激励的熔接头,其相对于所述旋转砧座轮可操作地放置;所述超声激励的熔接头与所述旋转砧座轮配合工作以对在所述超声激励的熔接头和旋转砧座轮之间通过的所述食品包装进行超声翼片密封。
11.根据权利要求10所述的系统,进一步包括一对相对的导出辊,其用于将食品包装拖过所述超声食品包装翼片密封系统。
12.根据权利要求10所述的系统,进一步包括一对相对的送进辊,其用于将所述局部包装的食品导入所述食品包装翼片密封系统,并将所述局部包装的食品的端压合在一起。
13.根据权利要求10所述的系统,进一步包括一对相对的翼片折叠辊,用于折叠所述局部密封的食品包装上的翼片密封。
14.根据权利要求10所述的系统,进一步包括将所述超声激励的熔接头安装在气动划板上,以用于在所述局部包装的食品的相对一侧维持所述超声激励的熔接头的合适的工作压力和排列。
15.根据权利要求10所述的系统,进一步包括砧座饲服驱动器,其用于在所述局部包装的食品的一侧维持所述旋转砧座轮的合适的工作压力和排列。
16.根据权利要求10所述的系统,进一步包括糖果食品。
17.一种用于对食品包装进行超声翼片密封的方法,所述方法包括的步骤有:
通过使所述食品包装从可操作连接的旋转砧座轮和超声激励的熔接头之间经过,以对食品包装进行翼片密封。
18.根据权利要求17所述的方法,进一步包括连续供应的食品包装。
19.根据权利要求17所述的方法,进一步包括连续供应的食品。
20.根据权利要求17所述的方法,进一步包括糖果食品。
21.一种用于对食品包装进行超声端密封的系统,所述系统包括:
旋转砧座;以及
旋转的超声激励的端密封熔接头,其相对于所述旋转砧座轮可操作地放置;所述超声激励的端密封熔接头与所述旋转砧座配合工作以对从所述超声激励的端密封熔接头和旋转砧座之间通过的所述食品包装进行超声端密封。
22.根据权利要求21所述的系统,进一步包括,所述超声端密封熔接头具有四个棱边。
23.根据权利要求21所述的系统,进一步包括,所述旋转砧座具有四个棱边。
24.一种用于对食品包装进行超声端密封的方法,所述方法包括的步骤有:
通过使所述包装食品在可操作连接的旋转砧座和超声激励的熔接头之间经过以对食品包装进行端密封。
25.根据权利要求24所述的方法,进一步包括,通过使所述包装食品在可操作连接的旋转砧座和旋转的超声激励的熔接头之间经过以对食品包装进行端密封。
26.根据权利要求24所述的方法,进一步包括,所述食品包装被连续供应给所述超声食品包装封端单元。
27.根据权利要求24所述的方法,进一步包括糖果食品。
