Description

DESCRIZIONE
dell'invenzione industriale dal titolo: "Sonotrodo per unità di saldatura ad ultrasuoni e taglio."
La presente invenzione è relativa ad un sonotrodo per unità di saldatura ad ultrasuoni e taglio.
La presente invenzione trova vantaggiosa applicazione nelle unità di saldatura ad ultrasuoni e taglio per nastri tubolari continui impiegate nelle macchine FFS (Form, Fill and Seal), note, per esempio, da US-6,574,944, cui la descrizione che segue farà esplicito riferimento senza per questo perdere in generalità.
Nelle macchine FFS, un nastro tubolare continuo di materiale termoplastico, alloggiante una successione uniforme di prodotti, viene avanzato lungo un percorso di alimentazione estendentesi attraverso una unità di saldatura ad ultrasuoni e taglio, la quale è in grado di chiudere il nastro tubolare lungo una successione di linee di saldatura trasversali, ciascuna delle quali è disposta lungo un rispettivo tratto del nastro tubolare compreso fra due prodotti contigui, e di tagliare il nastro lungo ciascuna linea di saldatura in modo da ottenere una successione di prodotti incartati.
L’unità di saldatura ad ultrasuoni e taglio nota sopra menzionata comprende normalmente un primo ed un secondo rotore, i quali sono disposti da bande opposte del percorso di alimentazione, presentano rispettive superfici primitive tangenti fra loro ed al percorso di alimentazione lungo una linea di tangenza e sono fra loro controrotanti attorno ad un primo e, rispettivamente, un secondo asse paralleli fra loro ed alla linea di tangenza ed individuanti un piano passante attraverso la linea di tangenza e perpendicolare al percorso di alimentazione.
Il primo rotore è provvisto di almeno un dispositivo di saldatura comprendente un sonotrodo, una cui superficie attiva saldante è mobile lungo la rispettiva superficie primitiva; mentre il secondo rotore è provvisto di almeno una incudine, una cui superficie di contrasto, disposta all’estremità libera dell’incudine stessa, è mobile lungo la relativa superficie primitiva ed è atta a raggiungere la linea di tangenza in fase con la citata superficie attiva saldante. La superficie di contrasto dell’incudine è centralmente provvista di una feritoia impegnata da una lama, un cui tagliente, costituito di un metallo duro, generalmente Vidiam, è atto a cooperare con la superficie attiva saldante del sonotrodo per impegnare e tagliare il nastro tubolare continuo in corrispondenza della linea di tangenza. Poiché, in generale, un sonotrodo è realizzato di alluminio o di titanio o, anche, di acciaio, ma sicuramente non di Vidiam data la rigidezza flessionale di questo materiale, e poiché, nel caso dell’unità di saldatura e taglio del tipo sopra descritto, la superficie attiva saldante del sonotrodo funge anche da superficie di contrasto della lama, la differenza di durezza superficiale esistente fra il sonotrodo ed il tagliente della lama comporta una usura relativamente rapida, e la conseguente frequente sostituzione, del sonotrodo.
Scopo della presente invenzione è di realizzare un sonotrodo, la cui superficie attiva saldante sia in grado di resistere per un tempo relativamente lungo agli impatti con il tagliente dì una lama.
Secondo la presente invenzione viene realizzato un sonotrodo secondo quanto licitato nella rivendicazione indipendente sotto riportata e, preferibilmente, in una qualsiasi delle rivendicazioni dipendenti direttamente o indirettamente dalla menzionata rivendicazione indipendente.
La presente invenzione verrà ora descritta con riferimento al disegno annesso, che illustra in elevazione laterale, e con parti in sezione e parti asportate per chiarezza, un esempio di attuazione non limitativo di una unità di saldatura ad ultrasuoni e taglio provvista di una preferita forma di attuazione del sonotrodo delia presente invenzione.
Nella figura allegata, con 1 è indicata nel suo complesso una macchina FFS (Form, Fili and Seal), in cui un nastro tubolare 2 continuo, alloggiarne una successione uniforme di prodotti 3, viene avanzato, in modo noto e non illustrato, lungo un percorso P di alimentazione estendentesi attraverso una stazione di saldatura 4, in corrispondenza della quale la macchina 1 comprende una unità 5, costituita da una unità di saldatura ad ultrasuoni e taglio, in grado sia di chiudere il nastro tubolare 2 lungo aree di saldatura 6 trasversali all’asse del nastro tubolare 2 e disposte in corrispondenza di rispettivi tratti del nastro tubolare 2 compresi fra rispettive coppie di prodotti 3 contigui, sia di tagliare il nastro tubolare 2 lungo le aree di saldatura 6 per ottenere una successione di involucri sigillati 7 contenenti rispettivi prodotti 3.
L’unità 5 comprende due rotori 8, i quali sono disposti da bande opposte del percorso P di alimentazione, sono fra loro controrotanti attorno a rispettivi assi 9 fra loro paralleli e definenti un piano, che è perpendicolare al percorso P di alimentazione in corrispondenza della stazione di saldatura 4, e presentano rispettive superfici primitive 10 cilindriche sostanzialmente tangenti fra loro ed al percorso P di alimentazione in corrispondenza della stazione di saldatura 4,
I rotori 8 sono fra loro sostanzialmente identici e ciascuno di essi comprende un albero motore 11, coassiale al relativo asse 9, su di una cui estremità libera è fissato un manicotto 12, da una cui superficie laterale 13 sporgono radialmente verso l’esterno, in posizioni diametralmente opposte, un sonotrodo 14 di un dispositivo di saldatura 15, ed una incudine 16.
Ciascun sonotrodo 14 è generalmente realizzato di alluminio, titanio o acciaio e presenta, alla propria estremità libera, una superfìcie attiva 17 saldante, la quale si estende lungo la relativa superficie primitiva 10 ed è una superficie ad andamento cilindrico presentante in pianta una forma sostanzialmente rettangolare di dimensioni sostanzialmente pari a quelle di una area di saldatura 6. Ciascuna incudine 16 è limitata, alla propria estremità libera, da una superficie di contrasto 18 di dimensioni sostanzialmente pari a quelle di una area di saldatura 6 e presentante delie costole 19 parallele agli assi 9 e tangenti alla relativa superficie primitiva 10. Attraverso la superficie di contrasto 18 di ciascuna incudine 16 è ricavata una scanalatura 20 longitudinale radiale parallela agli assi 9 ed alloggiante una lama 21, un cui tagliente 22 è tangente alla relativa superfìcie primitiva 10 ed è realizzato di un metallo, generalmente Vidiam oppure in titanio, di durezza superficiale maggiore di quella del relativo sonotrodo 14 in corrispondenza della relativa superfìcie attiva 17 saldante.
I rotori sono sfalsati fra loro di 180° e ruotano in sensi opposti, e con la stessa velocità angolare, attorno ai rispettivi assi 9 in modo tale che la superfìcie attiva 17 saldante del sonotrodo 14 di uno dei rotori 8 raggiunga la stazione di saldatura 4 unitamente alla superfìcie di contrasto 18 dell’incudine 16 dell’altro rotore 8 e rotoli a contatto dei vertici delle costole 19 della superfìcie di contrasto 18 stessa e del tagliente 22 della lama 21.
Ciascun sonotrodo 14 è provvisto centralmente di una cavità 23, la quale si estende attraverso il sonotrodo 14 stesso parallelamente agli assi 9, è sostanzialmente tangente alla relativa superfìcie attiva 17 saldante e comunica con l’esterno attraverso una feritoia 24 ricavata lungo la superficie attiva 1 7 saldante stessa in corrispondenza di una zona di contatto fra la relativa superficie attiva 17 saldante ed il tagliente 22 della relativa lama 21,
Ciascun sonotrodo 14 comprende, inoltre, un elemento di rinforzo 25, il quale è coassiale alla relativa cavità 23, è piantato all’interno della cavità 23 stessa in modo da chiudere la relativa feritoia 24 e presenta una durezza superficiale maggiore di quella presentata dal relativo sonotrodo 14 in corrispondenza della relativa superfìcie attiva 17 saldante e sostanzialmente uguale a quella del tagliente 22 delia relativa lama 21 . In altre parole, se il tagliente 22 è di Vidiam, anche l’elemento di rinforzo 25 è di Vidiam, ed una porzione centrale della superfìcie attiva 17 saldante di ciascun sonotrodo 14 è definita da una striscia 26 della superfìcie laterale 27 del relativo elemento di rinforzo 25. La striscia 26 è disposta sulla relativa superficie attiva 17 saldante in posizione tale da cooperare, nella stazione di saldatura 4, con il tagliente 22 della lama 21 montata sull’incudine 16 dell’altro rotore 8.
Allo scopo di impedire il distacco delfelemento di rinforzo 25 dalla restante parte del relativo sonotrodo 14 a seguito sia delle vibrazioni impartite al sonotrodo 14 stesso, sia del riscaldamento del sonotrodo a seguito del contatto con il nastro tubolare 2, la cavità 23 abbraccia il relativo elemento di rinforzo 25 in modo tale che l’elemento di rinforzo 25 stesso non possa fuoriuscire dalla cavità 23 attraverso la feritoia 24, la quale presenta, pertanto, una larghezza inferiore a quella dell’elemento di rinforzo 25.
La cavità 23 e l’elemento di rinforzo 25 possono avere, in sezione trasversale, una forma qualsiasi; nell' esempio illustrato, la cavità 23 è definita da un foro passante a sezione circolare ricavato attraverso il sonotrodo 14 in posizione sostanzialmente tangente alla superficie attiva 17 saldante e presentante un asse 28 parallelo agli assi 9 e disposto ad una distanza dalla superficie attiva 17 saldante approssimante per difetto il raggio del foro stesso; l’elemento di rinforzo 25 è definito da un tondino metallico, generalmente di Vidiam oppure in titanio, piantato nel citato foro; e la feritoia 24 presenta una larghezza inferiore al diametro del citato foro.

Claims (10)

  1. RIVENDICAZIONI 1 ) Sonotrodo presentante, ad una estremità, una superficie attiva (17) saldante atta a cooperare con il tagliente (22), più duro del sonotrodo (14) stesso in corrispondenza della superficie attiva (17) saldante, di una lama (21); il sonotrodo (14) essendo provvisto di una cavità (23) sostanzialmente tangente alla superficie attiva (17) saldante e comunicante con l’esterno attraverso una feritoia (24) ricavata lungo la superficie attiva (17) saldante stessa in corrispondenza di una zona di contatto fra la superficie attiva (17) ed il tagliente (22); e comprendendo un elemento di rinforzo (25) coassiale alla cavità (23), piantato all’ interno della cavità (23) e di chiusura della feritoia (24); l’elemento di rinforzo (25) presentando una durezza superficiale maggiore di quella presentata dal sonotrodo (14) in corrispondenza della superficie attiva (17) saldante e dello stesso ordine di quella del tagliente (22) della lama (21); e la feritoia (24) presentando una larghezza inferiore a quella dell’elemento di rinforzo (25).
  2. 2) Sonotrodo secondo la rivendicazione 1 , in cui l’elemento di rinforzo (25) è realizzato dello stesso materiale costituente il tagliente (22) della lama (2 1 ).
  3. 3) Sonotrodo secondo la rivendicazione 1 o 2, in cui l’elemento dì rinforzo (25) è realizzato di Vidiam.
  4. 4) Sonotrodo secondo la rivendicazione 1 o 2, in cui l’elemento di rinforzo (25) è realizzato di titanio.
  5. 5) Sonotrodo secondo una delle precedenti rivendicazioni, in cui la cavità (23) è un foro passante ricavato attraverso il sonotrodo (14) stesso in posizione sostanzialmente tangente alla superficie attiva (17) saldante.
  6. 6) Sonotrodo secondo una delle precedenti rivendicazioni, in cui la cavità (23) presenta in sezione una forma sostanzialmente circolare, e l' elemento di rinforzo (25) è un tondino piantato nella cavità (23).
  7. 7) Sonotrodo secondo la rivendicazione 6, in cui la feritoia (24) presenta una larghezza inferiore al diametro della cavità (23).
  8. 8) Unità per la saldatura ad ultrasuoni ed il taglio di un nastro tubolare (2) continuo avanzante lungo un percorso (P) di alimentazione, l’unità comprendendo almeno un sonotrodo (14) secondo una qualsiasi delle precedenti rivendicazioni, ed almeno una incudine (16) disposti da bande opposte del percorso (P) di alimentazione e mobili da e verso una posizione operativa, in cui la superficie attiva (17) saldante del sonotrodo (14) ed una superficie di contrasto (18) dell’incudine (16) sono disposte tangenti al percorso (P) di alimentazione e fra loro affacciate; la superficie di contrasto (18) presentando centralmente una scanalatura (20) alloggiarne una lama (21) di taglio presentante un tagliente (22) trasversale al percorso (P) di alimentazione ed atto a cooperare con la superficie attiva (17) saldante del sonotrodo (14) per tagliare il nastro tubolare (2); la cavità (23) del sonotrodo (14) estendendosi trasversalmente al percorso (P) di alimentazione; la feritoia (24) essendo disposta affacciata al tagliente (22) alla lama (21) nella posizione operativa, e l’elemento dì rinforzo (25) cooperando, nella posizione operativa, con il tagliente (22) della lama (21) attraverso la feritoia (24).
  9. 9) Unità secondo la rivendicazione 8, e comprendente due rotori (8) controrotanti presentanti super primitive (10) tangenti fra loro ed al percorso (P) di alimentazione nella posizione operativa e supportanti uno il sonotrodo (14) e l’altro l’incudine (16).
  10. 10) Macchina FFS (Form, Fili and Seal) comprendente una unità (5) per la saldatura ad ultrasuoni ed il taglio di un nastro tubolare (2) continuo secondo la rivendicazione 8 o 9.
