Additional patent to main patent no. 303282. Process for the production of a metal-containing azo dye. It has been found that if you get the dye of the formula valuable metal-containing azo dye, you get
EMI0001.0004
wherein Z denotes that nitrogen-containing group which, in the aqueous alkali metal hydroxide-alkaline condensation of the 4-nitro-4'-aminostilbene-2 diazotized by coupling,
2'-disulfonic acid with 1-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid available nitroazo dye with 2,5-diaminobenzene-1-carboxylic acid is formed, treated in such a way with copper-releasing agents that the o, o'-dioxyazo-copper complex is formed.
The new dye dissolves in water with a yellow-brown color and dyes cotton in yellow-brown tones. The starting dye is expediently prepared by further diazotizing the aminoazo dye obtained in the manner given above and coupling the diazo compound with 2-phenylamino-8-oxynaphthalene-6,3'-disulfonic acid. It is advantageous to treat the copper-donating agents at an elevated temperature, e.g. B. at about 90 to make. It is expedient to work in an aqueous, for example in a weakly acidic medium.
Example: 55 parts of the monoazo dye obtainable by coupling diazotized 4-nitro-4'-aminostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid with 1-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid in an alkaline medium fes with 16.7 parts (about 10% excess) 2,
5-diaminobenzene-1-carboxylic acid in 700 parts of 6% sodium hydroxide solution heated for 12 hours at 70-80. It is cooled to room temperature, varnish wall is made with acetic acid, the precipitated condensation product is filtered off and washed with dilute sodium chloride solution.
The condensation product obtained in this way is dissolved in a mixture of 800 parts of water and sodium hydroxide in a weakly phenol-phthalein-alkaline way, diazotized in the usual way with the calculated amount of sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid indirectly at room temperature and, after stirring for 2 hours, salted out with 130 parts of sodium chloride and filtered off. triert. This moist diazo paste is poured into a solution of 39,
5 parts of 2-phenylamino-8-oxynaphthalene-6,3'-disulfonic acid added to water and sodium carbonate and coupled with alkaline sodium carbonate overnight. The dye thus obtained is extracted by adding sodium chloride and filtered off. The paraffin paste is dissolved in 1,200 parts of hot water, acidified with acetic acid,
with a solution of 25 parts of krist. Copper sulfate is added to 100 parts of water and the mixture is stirred at 80-90 for 1 hour. The resulting copper complex compound is salted out, filtered off and dried.
