Accounting machine. The object of the invention is an accounting machine comprising a counter, a trainer for the latter and a manual member arranged to actuate the trainer. This machine is characterized by an independent retaining member which, in the active position, maintains the driver in the position acquired after the first actuation of the manual member, and by an automatically actuated member to release the retaining member in a next operation, other than an operation in which the hand organ is operated, to allow the trainer to return to its normal position.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, a partial embodiment of the machine forming the subject of the invention, only the parts necessary for the understanding of the invention being shown, the complete machine being described. and shown in Swiss Patent No. 288478.
Fig. 1 is a schematic view of the keyboard of the. machine.
Fig. 2 is a detailed view of a drive mechanism for a special reset counter, and FIG. 3 is a side view of part of the mechanism shown in FIG. 2.
The machine shown comprises three groups of totalizers arranged around common draggers in the known manner. The operation and control of these totalisers are fully described in the above-mentioned patent to which reference should be made for the mechanisms referred to here very briefly.
This machine is provided with two rows of control keys intended to control the kind of operation that the machine is to perform. One of these rows of keys is associated with a group of eight totalizers whose wheels are. interspersed, and. determine the. selection of the one of the totalizers which should receive records.
In the other row of control keys is a reset key which controls total operations in the eight totalizers in question. It is desirable that only an authorized person should be able to make use of this key and, for this purpose, a counter has been provided for him which advances by one each time the panel is used. Comparison of the previous number and the current number on this counter immediately reveals whether any unauthorized use of the reset key has been made.
In order to detect any unauthorized use of this reset key, it suffices for the counter to be advanced by one, although several reset operations may be carried out consecutively.
If we refer to fig. 1, it can be seen that the machine shown is provided with a keyboard comprising eight rows of upright keys 100 and two rows of transaction control keys 101 to 118, intended to determine the type of operation that the machine must perform. . The keys 101 to 108, 110, 111 and 113 are motor keys, that is to say they directly trigger the operation of the machine at the same time as they select the functions of the machine. The keys 109, 112 and 114 to 118 do not trigger the operation of the machine and, therefore, must be pressed in combination with one of the motor keys.
A control and locking trigger is provided in the first row of transaction keys in order to keep the key (s) that have been pressed in the depressed position until the end of the operation, as explained in detail in the above mentioned patent.
In the accounting application envisaged by way of example, the totalizers of the rear group are generally reset to zero at the end of a day, in a series of operations. To reset these totalizers to zero, a Reset key 117 (fig. 1) is used on the one hand and simultaneously one of the keys 101 to 108 which selects the desired totalizer.
Consequently, eight successive resetting operations are carried out and, in order to check the number of these operations and to check whether there has been a fraudulent resetting, a special counter 1041 is provided (fig. 1). , 2 and 3) in which a unit is added during the first operation in a series of resets. During the following operations in this series, the operation of the special counter is disengaged.
The special counter comprises three patterns 1041 rotating on a shaft 1042 and each fitted with a ratchet. 1043 cooperating. with a ratchet 1044 carried by a caliper 1045, which also pivots on the axis 1042. A res comes out 1046, stretched between a fixed stud of the keyboard and a stud 1047, carried by the caliper 1045, normally maintains the latter in contact with a pin 1048 carried by the Reset button 117. When the latter is pressed, the caliper 1045 (fig. 2) is tilted in the dextrorsal direction and the pawl 1044, acting on the ratchet 1043, registers a unit on the 1041 units wheel.
The pawl 1044 is formed by a part with three fingers, one of which extends over the path of a ratchet wheel of each of the wheels of the counter 1041. Each of these wheels is also. provided with a notched disc for position 9, which ensures, in the known manner, the transfer of the tens when one of the knobs goes from 9 to 0.
The pawl 1044 consists of a leaf spring and the fingers of the pawl for the highest decimal order of the counter are normally moved away from the ratchet until the notch of the disc appears under the finger which can thus fall. in the notch by causing the finger to the next higher decimal order in which a unit is. alois added.
A retaining pawl 1019 is provided, which has three fingers, one of which engages with the ratchet wheels 10-13 and. thus prevents any return movement of the knobs 1041 when the pawl. 1044 returns to its normal position.
The special counter advances by one unit only for a first operation in a series, as we have just indicated and, for this purpose, it is necessary. make sure that the caliper 1045 does not come back to. its normal position before the end of all operations in said series. To do this, a resilient stop 1051, operated by a boss 1052, is brought onto the return path of an arm 1053 of. the caliper 1045 when the. Reset button 11.7 is dark.
This part 1051 pivots on a small axis 1054 carried by two supports 1055 themselves mounted on the keyboard plate 1-17. A spring. 1056 tends to turn the part 1051 in the dextrorsum direction (fig. 3). When you push it in. Reset button 117 and the caliper 1045 (fig. 2) oscillates moving the arm 1053 away from the part 1052, the spring 10:36 brings this part below the arm 1053 and into an opening 1057 of a partition 133 on the keyboard.
Part 1052 remains in this position at the end of the reset operation and prevents caliper 1045 from returning to the home position when the Reset key is pressed. When this key is pressed again, for the next operation, there is therefore no advancement of the special counter as long as the caliper 1045 is blocked by the stop 1.05l / 1052.
It is of course necessary to provide a device to move the finger 1052 away during the first operation which follows the last reset of the series or which follows. the one for which key 1.17 is not used. This device comprises a link 1060 (Figs. 2 and 3) sliding on a stud 1061 of the frame 180 and articulated to an arm 1062 mounted idly on a stud 720.
The arm 1062 is provided with a heel 1063 which is normally in contact with a lug 1064 attached to an elbow lever 901 mounted loosely on a lug. 905. The lever 901 is also associated with the totalizer clutch and disengage> mechanism, which mechanism is fully shown and described in Swiss patent N 288478. On a main camshaft # 229 A pair of cams 7'33 is mounted for the differential of the first row of transaction keys, one of the cams 723 carrying a lug 906.
Cams 723 make two full turns in a dextr.orsum direction with each operation. machine and the lug 906 is arranged in such a way, on one of the cams 723, that it comes into contact with the lever 901 to tilt the latter in the senestrorsum direction twice for each machine operation .
During an operation during which the Reset key 117 is not used, when the pin 906 touches the condé lever 901 to make it tilt (in the sense senestror: sum, the pin 1064 raises the arm 1062 as well as the connecting rod 1060, of which a 1.065 bracket comes, butts against an extension 1.066 of the part 1051 which is thus brought back in the senestror- suni direction, removing the finger 1052 from the path of the caliper 1045.
The latter is delivered to the action of its spring 1046 which recalls it to its initial position in contact with the stud 1048 key the Reset button 117. When the link 1060 is released by the stud 906, the spring 1056 oscillates the part 1051 in the dextrorsum direction and, at this moment, the arm 1053 is again on the path of this part, as shown in fig. 3.
The pin 906 (fig. 2) carried by one of the cams 723 actuating the differential of the first row of transactions and which, in the known manner, is driven by two rotations in the dextrorsal direction, at each operation, is arranged so that the connecting rod 1060 is raised and then lowered twice at each zeroing operation. When link 1060 is lifted and Reset button 117 is depressed, stud 1048 retains yoke 1045 in its displaced position.
For this kind of operation, the lifting of the link 1060 simply causes the boss 1052 to move out from under the caliper 1045, and when the link 1060 is lowered again, the boss re-enters the opening. 1057 of the partition 133. The oscillation of the stop piece 1051 is therefore done empty for this type of operation. However, when the machine is operating without the use of the Reset key 117, the connecting rod 1060 is then raised to move the stop piece 1051 from its active position and the caliper 1045 can return to its normal position.
