Abstract
PRODUçãO SELETIVA DE PARA-XILENO POR METILAçãO DE TOLUENO. é fornecido um processo pra a produção seletiva de para-xileno que compreende reagir tolueno com metanol na presença de um catalisador compreendendo um material cristalino poroso tendo um parâmetro de difusão para 2, 2 dimetilbutano de aproximadamente 0,1 - 15 seg^ -1^ quando medido a uma temperatura de 120°C e uma pressão de 2,2 dimetilbutano de 60 torr (8kPa). O material cristalino poroso é preferivelmente um zeólito de poro médio, particularmente ZSM-5, que foi severamente vaporizado a uma temperatura de pelo menos 950°C. O material cristalino poroso é preferivelmente combinado com pelo menos um modificador de óxido, preferivelmente incluindo fósforo, para controlar a redução do volume de microporo do material durante a etapa de formação de vapor.
