Um catalisador para uso na produção deacetato de vinila o qual compreende (1) um suporte de catalisador,(2) paládio, (3) um ácido, (4) pelo menos um promotor decatalisador de ácido acético e (5) pelo menos um promotor e/ouco-promotor de acetato de vinila. Um processo para a produção devinila a partir de etileno e um gás contendo oxigênio usando ocatalisador.
