Abstract

Un acondicionador de escoria que contiene MgO, carbon o un agente de relleno y un aglutinante se mezcla y forma bajo presion para producir agregados que pueden tener la forma de un conglomerado. El acondicionador de escoria se usa para mejorar el desempeno de operacion y la vida refractaria en hornos de fundicion de acero. Un acondicionador de escoria que comprende en peso una mezcla y de 2% a 25% de aglutinante para aglomerados unidos o partículas más grandes de la mezcla, la mezcla que comprende: de 20% a 90% de agregados quemados comprendidos de partículas menores de 8 mm de las cuales al menos 30% son de 0.2 mm o mayores y contienen entre 35% y 94% de MgO; hasta 50% de aditivo carbonico u otro de elaboracion de escoria; y hasta 50% de magnesita ligeramente quemada.
