Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the slag forming characteristic in the initial period of operation of a basic steel-making furnace by mixing MgO clinker and light-burned MgO as well as clays and agalmatolites at the specific ratios then molding to a desired shape.
CONSTITUTION: MgO clinker or light burned MgO; 90W60% and clays and agalmatolites 10W40% are compounded and further sodium silicate powder is added 1W15%. After these are mixed, the mixture is molded to a desired shape. Thereby, the slag forming characteristic of calcined clay is improved and the initially charging composite slag forming agent that can save the use amount of fluorite may be obtained.
