Abstract
La presente proporciona un material compuesto sinterizado a presion que comprende una fase continua de nitruro de boro hexagonal y, disperso en ella, unsegundo material que comprende (a) por lo menos un nitruro metálico seleccionado del grupoformado por nitruros de silicio, aluminio o titanio y (b) por lomenos un oxido metálico estable; en el que la cantidad de oxido metálico es tal que el segundo material no contiene más de 35% en peso de oxígeno. Se haobservado que este material tieneun buen coeficiente de dilatacion térmica y, por lo tanto, presenta buena resistencia a los choques térmicos. Otracaracterística de este material es su baja humectabilidad por acero fundido, la cual es responsable de su excelente resistencia químicaa metal es líquidos.Finalmente, este material es resistente al desgaste mecánico.
