Abstract

【課題】投写用ズームレンズにおいて、広角、適切なバックフォーカスの確保、縮小側のレンズ径の小型化、装置の小型化、良好な光学性能を実現し、変倍時のFナンバー略一定を容易とする。 【解決手段】投写用ズームレンズは、拡大側から順に、変倍時に固定の負の第1レンズ群(G1)、変倍時に移動する複数のレンズ群を含む中間群(Gm)、変倍時に固定の正の最終レンズ群(Ge)からなり、縮小側が非テレセントリックである。中間群(Gm)の最も拡大側のレンズ群と最も縮小側のレンズ群は正の屈折力を有し、広角端から望遠端への変倍時に縮小側から拡大側へ移動する。最終レンズ群(Ge)は2枚以上の正レンズと2枚以上の負レンズを含み、最終レンズ群(Ge)の最も縮小側には正レンズが配置される。最終レンズ群(Ge)の焦点距離に関する所定の条件式を満たす。

Description

投写用ズームレンズおよび投写型表示装置
 本発明は、投写用ズームレンズおよび投写型表示装置に関し、例えば、ライトバルブにより形成される原画像をスクリーン上に拡大投写するのに好適な投写用ズームレンズおよびこれを用いた投写型表示装置に関するものである。
 従来、液晶表示素子等のライトバルブに表示した画像を拡大投写する投写型表示装置が広く用いられている。ライトバルブとして透過型液晶表示素子が使用される光学系においては、通常、色合成のためにクロスダイクロイックプリズムが用いられており、その角度依存性を考慮して色合成特性を向上させるために、上記光学系に用いられる投写用レンズは縮小側にテレセントリックとされている。
 また、プレゼンテーション用途として投写型表示装置を用いる場合は、比較的奥行きの狭い空間で、短い投写距離で大きな画面サイズが求められる場面が多いため、投写レンズとしては広角なレンズの需要が高い。広角レンズは画角の小さなレンズに比べ、投写距離の変化に対する画面サイズの変化が大きいので、スクリーンに対する装置の設置距離を少し変化させるだけで、画面サイズの調整が可能な場合もあるが、前述のように空間の奥行きが限られていることにより、設置条件の自由度がきわめて小さい場合が多い。そのため、設置距離が限定される中でも所望の画面サイズに調整可能なズームレンズがより好まれる傾向にある。
 広角で縮小側がテレセントリックに構成された投写用ズームレンズとしては、例えば下記特許文献1に記載されたものが知られている。特許文献1には、拡大側から順に、負の第1レンズ群、正の第2レンズ群、負の第3レンズ群、正の第4レンズ群、正の第5レンズ群が配されてなる5群構成のレンズ系が開示されている。

 プレゼンテーションで用いられるような投写型表示装置は、常設されずに移動、移設されたり、また、常設される場合は天井から吊り下げて設置されることも多く、いずれの場合からも小型、軽量化に対する要求が高い。また装置全体の小型化、軽量化のためにレンズの小型化も求められている。しかし、十分な結像性能を得るためには、多数のレンズの組み合わせが必要となり、全長が長くなるとともに、拡大側のレンズ径の大型化を招くことになるため、レンズの小型化は容易ではない。
 一方、より高精度で、高輝度かつコントラスト比の大きい投写画像を得たいという要求の高まりから、ライトバルブとしてDMD(デジタル・マイクロミラー・デバイス:登録商標)を搭載した投写型表示装置が注目されている。DMDには多数の角度可変のマイクロミラーが配列されており、投写型表示装置においては、各マイクロミラーの角度を変化させて照明光学系を介して入射された光の反射方向を変化させることにより各画素のON、OFFの切り換えを行い、全体の投写画像を形成する。このような反射型ライトバルブであるDMDと併用される投写用レンズには、縮小側を必ずしもテレセントリックにする必要がない。
 しかしながら、ライトバルブをDMDとし、非テレセントリックな光学系を用いた型の投写型表示装置では、光源から照明光学系を経由してDMDに向かう照明光の光路、DMDで反射された反射光の光路、装置を構成する各部材が干渉しないように考慮する必要がある。例えば、光源から照明光学系を経由してDMDに向かう照明光を投写用レンズが遮光しないように、また照明光学系と投写用レンズが干渉しないように、考慮する必要がある。さらに、OFFに切り替えられているDMDの画素からの不要な反射光が、投写用レンズ内に入射しないように考慮する必要がある。そのためには、適切な長さのバックフォーカスの確保と投写用レンズの縮小側のレンズの小径化の両立が必要となる。
 さらに、従来の投写用ズームレンズでは変倍の際にFナンバーが変化するものが多く、それらは、ズーム全域で同じ画面サイズの投写像の明るさが略一定とされた投写用ズームレンズという要望に応えるものではなかった。
 本発明は、上記事情に鑑みなされたものであり、広角で、適切なバックフォーカスが確保されるとともに縮小側のレンズ径の小型化が図られて装置の小型化に貢献でき、変倍時のFナンバーを略一定とする構成が容易で、良好な光学性能を有する投写用ズームレンズおよびこのような投写用ズームレンズを備えた投写型表示装置を提供することを目的とするものである。
 本発明の投写用ズームレンズは、最も拡大側に配置され、変倍の際に固定されている負の屈折力を有する第1レンズ群と、最も縮小側に配置され、変倍の際に固定されている正の屈折力を有する最終レンズ群と、第1レンズ群と最終レンズ群の間に配置され、変倍の際に移動する複数のレンズ群を含む中間群とから実質的に構成され、中間群の最も拡大側のレンズ群および中間群の最も縮小側のレンズ群はともに、正の屈折力を有し、広角端から望遠端への変倍の際に縮小側から拡大側へ移動するものであり、縮小側が非テレセントリックであり、最終レンズ群が2枚以上の正レンズと2枚以上の負レンズとを含み、最終レンズ群の最も縮小側には正の屈折力を有する最縮小側正レンズが配置され、下記条件式(1)を満足することを特徴とするものである。

 本発明の投写用ズームレンズにおいては、最縮小側正レンズは両凸レンズであることが好ましい。
 本発明の投写用ズームレンズにおいては、最縮小側正レンズの拡大側には、該最縮小側正レンズとの間に第1の空気レンズが形成されるように縮小側に凹面を向けた負レンズが配置されており、下記条件式(2)を満足することが好ましい。

 本発明に係る投写型表示装置は、光源と、該光源からの光が入射するライトバルブと、該ライトバルブにより光変調された光による光学像をスクリーン上に投写する投写用ズームレンズとして上述した本発明の投写用ズームレンズとを備えたことを特徴とするものである。
 なお、上記「拡大側」とは、被投写側(スクリーン側)を意味し、縮小投写する場合も、便宜的にスクリーン側を拡大側と称するものとする。一方、上記「縮小側」とは、原画像表示領域側(ライトバルブ側)を意味し、縮小投写する場合も、便宜的にライトバルブ側を縮小側と称するものとする。
 なお、上記「縮小側が非テレセントリック」とは、縮小側の像面の任意の点に集光する光束の断面において上側の最大光線と下側の最大光線との二等分角線(不図示)を考えたとき、光軸Zに対するこの二等分角線の傾きの絶対値が3°より大きい場合を意味する。
 なお、上記「実質的に~構成され」とは、構成要素として挙げたレンズ群以外に、実質的にパワーを有さないレンズ、絞りやカバーガラス等のレンズ以外の光学要素を含んでもよいことを意図するものである。
 なお、上記「レンズ群」とは、必ずしも複数のレンズから構成されるものだけでなく、1枚のレンズのみで構成されるものも含むものとする。
 なお、上記レンズの面形状や曲率半径、屈折力の符号は、非球面が含まれているものについては近軸領域で考えるものとする。
 なお、上記「Dep」、上記「LGe」については、バックフォーカス分は空気換算した値を用いるものとする。
 本発明に係る投写用ズームレンズは、負先行のレンズ群構成を採用し、固定群と移動群を好適に設定し、縮小側を非テレセントリックとし、特に最も縮小側に配置される最終レンズ群の構成を好適に設定しているため、広角に構成でき、適切なバックフォーカスを確保することができるとともに縮小側のレンズ径の小型化を図ることができて装置の小型化に貢献でき、変倍時のFナンバーを略一定とする構成が容易となり、良好な光学性能を有することができる。
 また、本発明に係る投写型表示装置は、本発明の投写用ズームレンズを備えているため、小型かつ広角で、良好な投写像を得ることができ、ズーム全域で同じ画面サイズの投写像の明るさを略一定とすることが容易となる。

 以下、本発明の実施形態について図面を参照して詳細に説明する。図1に、本発明の一実施形態に係る投写用ズームレンズの広角端における断面図を示し、図2に図1の投写用ズームレンズの部分拡大図を示す。図1、図2に示す例は、後述の実施例1の投写用ズームレンズに対応している。図3に、本発明の一実施形態に係る投写型表示装置の概略構成図を示す。
 まず、図3を参照しながら、本発明の実施形態に係る投写型表示装置について説明する。図3に示す投写型表示装置100は、光源101と、照明光学系102と、ライトバルブとしてのDMD103と、本発明の実施形態にかかる投写用ズームレンズ104とを備えている。光源101より出射された光束は、不図示のカラーホイールによって、3原色光(R、G、B)の各光に時系列的に選択変換され、照明光学系102によって光束の光軸Z1と垂直な断面における光量分布の均一化が図られた後、DMD103に入射する。DMD103においては、入射光の色の切り替わりに応じて、その色光用への変調切替が行われる。DMD103により光変調された光は、投写用ズームレンズ104に入射する。投写用ズームレンズ104により、この光変調された光による光学像がスクリーン105上に投写される。
 反射型ライトバルブを用い非テレセントリックな光学系とした投写型表示装置では、各部材が干渉しないように、また光路を妨げないように考慮する必要がある。図3に示す例では例えば、照明光学系102と投写用ズームレンズ104が干渉しないように、また、照明光学系102からDMD103に向かう照明光を投写用ズームレンズ104が遮光しないように考慮する必要がある。さらには、OFFに切り替えられているDMD103の画素からの不要な反射光が、投写用ズームレンズ104内に入射しないように考慮する必要がある。そのためには投写用ズームレンズ104のDMD103側(縮小側)のレンズの小径化と、適切な長さのバックフォーカスが必要となる。
 本発明の投写用ズームレンズでは、縮小側を非テレセントリックとしている。仮に投写用ズームレンズの縮小側をテレセントリックとした場合、周辺光量や明るさを確保しながらバックフォーカスを長くしようとすると、縮小側のレンズ径は大きくなってしまう。縮小側のレンズ径を小さくしながら、長いバックフォーカスを確保するためには、縮小側の瞳位置をできるだけ投写用ズームレンズ内の縮小側にする必要がある。以下に述べる本発明の実施形態に係る投写用ズームレンズでは、縮小側の瞳位置を投写用ズームレンズ内の縮小側寄りにすることにより、適切なバックフォーカスを確保するとともに縮小側のレンズ径を小さくすることを可能にしている。
 次に、図1、図2を参照しながら、本発明の実施形態に係る投写用ズームレンズの構成について詳細に説明する。図1に示す例の投写用ズームレンズは、拡大側から順に、負の屈折力を有する第1レンズ群G1と、正の屈折力を有する第2レンズ群G2と、負の屈折力を有する第3レンズ群G3と、正の屈折力を有する第4レンズ群G4と、正の屈折力を有する第5レンズ群G5とが配されてなる5群構成を採っている。
 なお、図1、図2では、軸上光束4、最大像高の光束5も図示している。また、図1、図2では、投写型表示装置に搭載される場合を想定して、各種フィルタやカバーガラス等を想定した平行平面板状の光学部材2と、光学部材2の縮小側の面に位置するライトバルブの画像表示面1も合わせて図示している。
 なお、図1、図2では、光学部材2の縮小側の面の位置と画像表示面1の位置とが一致した例を示しているが、必ずしもこれに限定されない。また、図1、図2には、1枚の画像表示面1のみを記載しているが、投写型表示装置において、光源からの光束を色分離光学系により3原色に分離し、各原色用に3つのライトバルブを配設して、フルカラー画像を表示可能な構成としてもよい。
 図1に示す例では、第1レンズ群G1は5枚の単レンズからなり、第2レンズ群G2は2枚の単レンズからなり、第3レンズ群G3は2枚の単レンズからなり、第4レンズ群G4は2枚のレンズが接合された接合レンズからなり、第5レンズ群G5は6枚の単レンズからなる。ただし、本発明の投写用ズームレンズのレンズ群数や、各レンズ群を構成するレンズ枚数は必ずしも図1に示す例に限定されるものではない。
 本発明の投写用ズームレンズは、最も拡大側に配置され、変倍の際に固定されている負の屈折力を有する第1レンズ群G1と、最も縮小側に配置され、変倍の際に固定されている正の屈折力を有する最終レンズ群Geと、第1レンズ群G1と最終レンズ群Geの間に配置され、変倍の際に移動する複数のレンズ群を含む中間群Gmとからなるように構成される。
 このように、最も拡大側に負レンズ群、最も縮小側に正レンズ群を配置することで、広角化が可能になるとともに、適切な長さのバックフォーカスの確保に有利となる。
 図1に示す例では、第2レンズ群G2、第3レンズ群G3、第4レンズ群G4の3つのレンズ群が中間群Gmを構成し、第5レンズ群G5が最終レンズ群Geを構成している。なお、図1の例の第2レンズ群G2~第4レンズ群G4は全て変倍の際に移動する移動群であり、図1では、広角端から望遠端へ変倍する際の各レンズ群の概略的な移動方向を各レンズ群の下の矢印で示している。
 中間群Gmを図1に示す例のように、拡大側から順に、正、負、正の屈折力を有する3つの移動群で構成した場合は、レンズ系の全長が長くなるのを抑えながら、ズーム全域で像面湾曲を良好に補正することができる。
 本発明の中間群Gmは別の構成を採ることも可能であり、例えば、変倍の際に移動する正の屈折力を有する2つのレンズ群からなるように構成した場合は、最少のレンズ群数で構成できるためコスト的に有利となる。
 本発明では、中間群Gmの最も拡大側のレンズ群(図1の例では第2レンズ群G2に相当)および中間群Gmの最も縮小側のレンズ群(図1の例では第4レンズ群G4に相当)はともに、正の屈折力を有し、広角端から望遠端への変倍の際に縮小側から拡大側へ移動するように構成される。
 このように、移動群のうち、最も拡大側の移動群および最も縮小側の移動群となる2つのレンズ群を正レンズ群とすることで、大径化する傾向にある第1レンズ群G1のレンズ径を抑制することができるので小型化に有利となる。
 また、最も拡大側の移動群および最も縮小側の移動群が広角端から望遠端への変倍の際に縮小側から拡大側へ移動することで、レンズ系の全長、第1レンズ群G1のレンズ径、最も拡大側の移動群のレンズ径のいずれも小さくすることができる。特に、最も拡大側の移動群および最も縮小側の移動群が変倍時に同方向に移動することで、移動群のレンズまたは移動群のレンズを保持する機械部品が共通の空間を使用して移動することが可能になり、レンズ系全長を短くすることができる。
 本発明と異なり、2つの正の屈折力を有する移動群が変倍時に逆方向に移動するように構成されているものでは、上記のように共通の空間を使用して移動することができないため、レンズ系の全長が長くなってしまう。また、最も拡大側の移動群および最も縮小側の移動群が変倍時に逆方向に移動するように構成されているものでは、2つの移動群が大きく離れるズーム位置では、これら2つの移動群間で軸外光線が光軸から大きく離れるため、第1レンズ群のレンズ径、最も拡大側の移動群のレンズ径が大きくなってしまう。これを防ぐためには、より縮小側のレンズ群、例えば最終レンズ群に相当するレンズ群も変倍時に移動させなくてはならなくなり、その場合には変倍の際にFナンバーを一定とすることが困難となる。
 本発明の投写用ズームレンズでは、最も縮小側の最終レンズ群Geを変倍時に固定されている固定群としているため、変倍の際にFナンバーを一定とすることが容易である。例えば固定群である最終レンズ群Ge内に瞳位置を存在させれば、ズーム全域にわたりFナンバーを一定にすることが可能となる。
 本発明では、最終レンズ群Geの屈折力は下記条件式(1)を満足するように設定されている。

 条件式(1)の下限を満たさないと、倍率色収差、像面湾曲の良好な補正が困難となり、また適切な長さのバックフォーカスを確保することも困難となる。条件式(1)の上限を満たさないと、軸上光線や、軸外下側光線の発散が大きくなり、最終レンズ群Geより拡大側のレンズの径が大きくなる。条件式(1)を満足することで、軸上光線や、軸外下側光線の発散を減じて最終レンズ群Geより拡大側のレンズの径が大きくなるのを抑制しながら、倍率色収差、像面湾曲の良好な補正、および適切な長さのバックフォーカスの確保が可能となる。
 図2は、図1に示す投写用ズームレンズの最終レンズ群Geと画像表示面1を含む部分拡大図である。図2に、最大像高の光束5の上側の最大光線5a、下側の最大光線5b、主光線5cを示す。ここでは、図2の紙面の上下方向に合わせて上側、下側と呼称している。図2の下側の最大光線5bが例えば上記の軸外下側光線に含まれる。図2の上側の最大光線5aが例えば軸外上側光線に含まれる。
 図1からわかるように、軸外光線は第1レンズ群G1~第3レンズ群G3では光軸Zから離れた光線となり、これらのレンズ群のレンズの有効径を決める光線となるため、軸外光線の発散を減じることで、拡大側のレンズ群のレンズ径を抑制することができる。
 条件式(1)を満足して得られる効果を高めるためには下記条件式(1’)を満足することが好ましく、さらに下記条件式(1’’)を満足することがさらにより好ましい。

 最終レンズ群Geは、2枚以上の正レンズと2枚以上の負レンズとを含み、最終レンズ群Geの最も縮小側には正の屈折力を有する最縮小側正レンズが配置されるように構成される。
 例えば、図2に示す例の最終レンズ群Geは、拡大側から順に、正のレンズL51、負のレンズL52、正のレンズL53、正のレンズL54、負のレンズL55、正のレンズL56の6枚のレンズが配されて構成されている。図2に示す例では上記最縮小側正レンズはレンズL56に相当する。
 最終レンズ群Geが2枚以上の正レンズを含むことで、軸上光線や、軸外下側光線の発散を減じて、拡大側のレンズ群のレンズの大径化を抑制しながら、収差補正を良好に行うことが可能となる。
 最終レンズ群Geが2枚以上の負レンズを含むことで、軸上光線や、軸外下側光線の発散を減じながらも、最終レンズ群Geの屈折力を適切に保つことができ、さらに軸上色収差、像面湾曲を良好に補正することができる。
 最終レンズ群Geの最も縮小側に正レンズを配置することで、軸上光線や、軸外下側光線の発散を減じて、拡大側のレンズ群のレンズの大径化を抑制することができる。
 最終レンズ群Geの最も縮小側に位置する最縮小側正レンズは、両凸レンズであることが好ましく、このようにした場合は、軸上光線や、軸外下側光線の発散を減じて、拡大側のレンズ群のレンズの大径化を抑制することがより容易になる。
 また、最終レンズ群Geの縮小側から2番目の正レンズ(図2の例ではレンズL54に相当)も両凸レンズとすることが好ましく、このようにした場合は、軸上光線や、軸外下側光線の発散を減じて、拡大側のレンズ群のレンズの大径化を抑制することがより容易になる。
 最縮小側正レンズの拡大側には、最縮小側正レンズとの間に第1の空気レンズが形成されるように縮小側に凹面を向けた負レンズが配置されることが好ましい。このような構成を採ることで、第1の空気レンズを形成する負レンズより拡大側のレンズの大径化を抑制しながら、像面湾曲、球面収差を良好に補正することができる。
 上記第1の空気レンズに関して、下記条件式(2)を満足することが好ましい。

 図2に示す例では、最縮小側正レンズであるレンズL56の拡大側直前に、微小な空気間隔を挟んで縮小側に凹面を向けた負のレンズL55が配置されており、レンズL55の縮小側の面とレンズL56の拡大側の面とにより第1の空気レンズが形成されている。図2に示す例では、d1はレンズL55とレンズL56の光軸上の空気間隔であり、Hr1はレンズL56の拡大側の面の最大有効半径である。
 条件式(2)の下限を満たさないと、第1の空気レンズを形成する2つのレンズ(図2の例ではレンズL55、レンズL56に相当)の間隔が狭くなりすぎ、製造が困難となる。条件式(2)の上限を満たさないと、像面湾曲、球面収差の補正効果が弱くなる。条件式(2)を満足することで、像面湾曲、球面収差の良好な補正効果が得られるレンズ系を実現することが可能になる。
 条件式(2)を満足した場合から像面湾曲、球面収差の補正効果をより高めるためには下記条件式(2’)を満足することが好ましく、さらにより高めるためには下記条件式(2’’)を満足することがさらにより好ましい。

 図2に示す例では、RF1はレンズL55の縮小側の面の曲率半径であり、RR1はレンズL56の拡大側の面の曲率半径であり、NdF1はレンズL55のd線に関する屈折率であり、NdR1はレンズL56のd線に関する屈折率である。
 条件式(3)は第1の空気レンズの拡大側の面の屈折力と縮小側の面の屈折力との比の好適な範囲を規定したものである。条件式(3)を満足しないと、像面湾曲、球面収差の良好な補正が困難になる。条件式(3)を満足することで、像面湾曲、球面収差の良好な補正が可能になる。
 条件式(3)を満足して得られる効果を高めるためには下記条件式(3’)を満足することが好ましい。

 図2に示す例では、fp12はレンズL54、L55、L56の合成焦点距離となる。条件式(4)の下限を満たさないと、球面収差、像面湾曲、軸上色収差の良好な補正が困難になる。条件式(4)の上限を満たさないと、拡大側のレンズ群のレンズ径が大きくなる。条件式(4)を満足することで、球面収差、像面湾曲、軸上色収差の良好な補正しながら、軸上光線や、軸外下側光線の発散を減じて、拡大側のレンズ群のレンズの大径化を抑制することができる。
 条件式(4)を満足して得られる効果を高めるためには下記条件式(4’)を満足することが好ましい。

 図2に示す例では、拡大側に凸面を向けた正のレンズL53の拡大側直前に、微小な空気間隔を挟んで縮小側に凹面を向けた負のレンズL52が配置されており、レンズL52の縮小側の面とレンズL53の拡大側の面とにより第2の空気レンズが形成されている。図2に示す例では、d2はレンズL52とレンズL53の光軸上の空気間隔であり、Hr2はレンズL53の拡大側の面の最大有効半径である。
 条件式(5)の下限を満たさないと、第2の空気レンズを形成する2つのレンズ(図2の例ではレンズL52、レンズL53に相当)の間隔が狭くなりすぎ、製造が困難となる。条件式(5)の上限を満たさないと、像面湾曲、球面収差の補正効果が弱くなる。条件式(5)を満足することで、像面湾曲、球面収差の良好な補正効果が得られるレンズ系を実現することが可能になる。
 条件式(5)を満足した場合から像面湾曲、球面収差の補正効果をより高めるためには下記条件式(5’)を満足することが好ましい。

 図2に示す例では、RF2はレンズL52の縮小側の面の曲率半径であり、RR2はレンズL53の拡大側の面の曲率半径であり、NdF2はレンズL52のd線に関する屈折率であり、NdR2はレンズL53のd線に関する屈折率である。
 条件式(6)は第2の空気レンズの拡大側の面の屈折力と縮小側の面の屈折力との比の好適な範囲を規定したものである。条件式(6)を満足しないと、像面湾曲、球面収差の良好な補正が困難になる。条件式(6)を満足することで、像面湾曲、球面収差の良好な補正が可能になる。
 条件式(6)を満足して得られる効果を高めるためには下記条件式(6’)を満足することが好ましい。

 また、最終レンズ群Geの縮小側から1番目の負レンズ(図2の例ではレンズL55に相当)は拡大側に凸面を向けたメニスカスレンズであることが好ましい。仮にこの負レンズを両凹レンズとすると、負の屈折力が強くなり、最終レンズ群Geの正レンズの屈折力を強くしなければならず、そうすると収差のバランスが崩れてしまうため、この負レンズはメニスカスレンズとすることが好ましい。また、メニスカスレンズとした場合、上述した空気レンズを形成するためには、拡大側に凸面を向けたメニスカスレンズとすることが好ましい。
 なお、図2に示す例の最終レンズ群Geの構成をより詳しく述べると、拡大側から順に、両凸レンズよりなるレンズL51と、両凹レンズよりなるレンズL52と、両凸レンズよりなるレンズL53と、両凹レンズよりなるレンズL54と、縮小側に凹面を向けた負メニスカスレンズよりなるレンズL55と、両凸レンズよりなるレンズL56とが配列された6枚構成である。しかし、後述の実施例に示すように、種々の変形が可能である。例えば、レンズL51は正メニスカスレンズとしてもよい。また、レンズL53も正メニスカスレンズとしてもよい。また、最終レンズ群Geを、拡大側から順に、正メニスカスレンズ、両凹レンズ、両凸レンズ、両凸レンズ、負メニスカスレンズ、負メニスカスレンズ、両凸レンズが配列された7枚構成とすることも可能である。
 また、本実施形態の投写用ズームレンズにおいては、下記条件式(7)を満足することが好ましい。

 条件式(7)の下限を満たさないと、適切な長さのバックフォーカスを確保できず、照明光学系102と投写用ズームレンズが干渉したり、照明光学系102から照射される照明光を投写用ズームレンズが遮光してしまったり、OFFに切り替えられているDMDの画素からの不要な反射光が、投写用ズームレンズ内に入射してしまう虞がある。条件式(7)の上限を満たさないと、投写用ズームレンズにおける縮小側のレンズが大径化する。条件式(7)を満足することで、適切な長さのバックフォーカスを確保して、他の部材や光路との干渉を防ぎながら小型に構成することができる。

 条件式(8)の下限を満たさないと、要望される広角化を実現することができない。条件式(8)を満足することで、要望される広い画角を確保することができる。
 より広い画角を確保するためには、下記条件式(8’)を満足することがより好ましく、下記条件式(8’’)の下限を満足することがさらにより好ましい。なお、下記条件式(8’’)の上限を満たさないと、レンズ系が大型化するとともに歪曲収差の補正も困難となる。条件式(8’’)を満足することで、レンズ系の大型化を抑制しながら、歪曲収差を良好に補正しつつ、要望される広い画角を達成することができる。

 広角化のためには第1レンズ群G1の構成も重要である。第1レンズ群G1は、拡大側から順に、拡大側から1~3番目の3枚のレンズからなる前群G1Fと、後群G1Rとから構成され、前群G1Fは少なくとも1つの非球面レンズを含むことが好ましい。前群G1Fが非球面レンズを含むことで、広角化に伴い発生量が増加する歪曲収差を良好に補正することができる。
 より好ましくは、前群G1Fの最も拡大側のレンズが非球面を有することが好ましく、このようにした場合は、高い収差補正効果を得ることができる。また、前群G1Fの最も拡大側のレンズは全系で最も径が大きいレンズであるため、このレンズを非球面レンズとする場合はプラスチック製とすることが好ましく、このようにした場合は、軽量化を図ることができる。
 例えば、図1に示す例の第1レンズ群G1は、拡大側から順に、近軸領域が拡大側に凹面を向けた負メニスカス形状のレンズと、縮小側に凹面を向けたメニスカス形状の負レンズと、拡大側に凹面を向けたメニスカス形状の負レンズと、拡大側に凸面を向けたメニスカス形状の負レンズと、両凸レンズとが配列された5枚構成であり、最も拡大側のレンズが非球面レンズである。
 前群G1Fの屈折力に関して、下記条件式(9)を満足することが好ましい。

 条件式(9)は前群G1Fの屈折力の好適な範囲を規定したものである。条件式(9)の下限を満たさないと、第1レンズ群G1のレンズの径、特に前群G1Fのレンズの径が大きくなり、また、適切な長さのバックフォーカスを確保することが困難になる。条件式(9)の上限を満たさないと、像面湾曲の良好な補正が困難になる。条件式(9)を満足することで、適切な長さのバックフォーカスを確保し、レンズの大径化を抑制し、像面湾曲の良好な補正を行うことが可能になる。
 条件式(9)を満足して得られる効果を高めるためには下記条件式(9’)を満足することがより好ましく、さらにより高めるためには下記条件式(9’’)を満足することがさらにより好ましい。

 なお、投写距離が変化した際のフォーカシング時に移動するレンズは、後群G1Rのレンズのみであることが好ましい。フォーカシング時に大径のレンズを含む前群G1Fが固定されていることで、駆動機構の負荷を軽減できるとともに、フォーカシング時でも光学系の全長を不変にすることができる。また、前群G1Fが非球面レンズを含む場合は、この非球面レンズへの入射光束の変化を少なくでき、投写距離の変化による収差変動を抑制できる。
 後群G1Rが複数のレンズを有する場合は、フォーカシング時にその中の一部のレンズのみを移動させてもよく、あるいは後群G1Rの全てのレンズを移動させてもよく、また、複数のレンズを一体的に移動させてもよく、独立に移動させてもよい。フォーカシングに用いる1つあるいは複数のレンズは、投写距離の変動量に応じて選択するようにしてもよい。
 また、下記条件式(10)を満足することが好ましい。

 条件式(13)の下限を満たさないと、色収差の良好な補正が困難となる。条件式(13)の上限を満たさないと、現在使用可能な光学材料の範囲では屈折率の低い材料を用いることになるため、像面湾曲の良好な補正が困難となる。条件式(13)を満足することで、色収差、像面湾曲の良好な補正が可能になる。
 条件式(13)を満足した場合からさらに色収差を良好に補正するためには下記条件式(13’)を満足することが好ましい。

 また、ズーム全域においてFナンバーが一定となるように構成されていることが好ましく、このようにした場合は、同一投写サイズの時にズーム比に関係なく同じ明るさで投写することができる。
 そこで、本実施形態の投写用ズームレンズにおいては、下記条件式(14)を満足することが好ましい。

なおここでは、Hc、yの符号は、光軸Zより上方のものを正、下方のものを負とし、yが正符号となる光束について考えることにする。
 条件式(14)の上限を満たすことで、最大像高の主光線が光軸Zと交わる点を最終レンズ群Ge内に位置させることができるので、ズーム全域においてFナンバーを一定にすることが可能となる。
 さらに下記条件式(14’)を満足することが好ましい。条件式(14’)の下限を満たさないと最終レンズ群Geよりも拡大側にある変倍時の移動群や第1レンズ群G1のレンズ径が大きくなる。条件式(14’)を満足することで、レンズ系の大型化を抑制しながらズーム全域においてFナンバーを一定にすることができる。
 -0.50<Hc/y≦0.00 (14’)
 上述したように、本実施形態の投写用ズームレンズでは縮小側瞳位置を縮小側寄りに設定することが好ましいことから、最終レンズ群Geで光線が密集する傾向となるため、最終レンズ群Geは接合レンズを有しないことが好ましい。仮に、光線が密集する最終レンズ群Geが接合レンズを有していると、投写用ズームレンズが高出力の光源と併用されたときに強力な光によって接合剤が著しく変質、劣化し、レンズ性能の低下を招く虞がある。最終レンズ群Geのレンズを全て単レンズとすることで、このような懸念事項を排除することができる。
 なお、照明光の損失を抑えて投写用ズームレンズに照明光を取り込むためには、縮小側の像面の任意の点に集光する光束の断面において、各光束の上側の最大光線と下側の最大光線の二等分角線と、各光束の主光線とのなす角度が±3°以内であることが好ましい。
 また、本発明の目的とする投写用ズームレンズとしては、ズーム全域においてディストーション(歪曲収差)が約2%以下に抑えられていることが好ましい。
 なお、上述した好ましい構成は、任意の組合せが可能であり、投写用ズームレンズに要望される事項に応じて適宜選択的に採用されることが好ましい。
 次に、本発明の投写用ズームレンズの具体的な実施例について説明する。
 <実施例1>
 図4に、実施例1の投写用ズームレンズの断面図および光線軌跡を示す。図4では、左側にそれぞれW、M、Tという記号が付された上段、中段、下段に、それぞれ広角端、中間焦点距離状態、望遠端における各レンズ群の配置と構成を示している。また、図4では、軸上光束4、最大像高の光束5、各種フィルタやカバーガラス等を想定した平行平面板状の光学部材2と、光学部材2の縮小側の面に位置するライトバルブの画像表示面1も合わせて示している。そして、上段と中段の間、中段と下段の間にはそれぞれ、広角端から中間焦点距離状態へ、中間焦点距離状態から望遠端へ変倍する際の各レンズ群の概略的な移動方向を示す矢印も示している。図4に示す構成は、投写距離が無限遠のときのものである。
 実施例1の投写用ズームレンズの群構成としては、拡大側から順に、負の屈折力を有する第1レンズ群G1と、正の屈折力を有する第2レンズ群G2と、負の屈折力を有する第3レンズ群G3と、正の屈折力を有する第4レンズ群G4と、正の屈折力を有する第5レンズ群G5とが配列されてなる5群構成であり、広角端から望遠端への変倍の際には、第1レンズ群と第5レンズ群G5は固定されており、第2レンズ群G2~第4レンズ群G4は光軸方向に移動し、そのうち第2レンズ群G2と第4レンズ群G4は縮小側から拡大側へ移動するように構成されている。また、縮小側が非テレセントリックとされている。
 実施例1の投写用ズームレンズの各レンズ群の概略構成としては、第1レンズ群G1は、拡大側から順に、レンズL11~L15の5枚のレンズからなる。レンズL11~L13が前群G1Fを構成し、レンズL14、L15が後群G1Rを構成する。フォーカシング方法としては、図4のレンズL14、L15各々の上の矢印で模式的に示しているように、レンズL14、L15を独立に光軸方向に移動させて行う。
 第2レンズ群G2は、拡大側から順に、レンズL21、L22の2枚のレンズからなる。第3レンズ群G3は、拡大側から順に、レンズL31、L32の2枚のレンズからなる。第4レンズ群G4は、拡大側から順に、レンズL41、L42の2枚のレンズからなる。第5レンズ群G5は、拡大側から順に、レンズL51~L56の6枚のレンズからなる。
 実施例1の投写用ズームレンズにおいて、レンズL41とレンズL42は接合されており、その他のレンズは接合されていない単レンズである。また、実施例1の投写用ズームレンズにおいて、レンズL11は両面が非球面形状のプラスチックレンズであり、その他のレンズは両面が球面形状である。
 実施例1の投写用ズームレンズの詳細構成を示す数値データとして、表1に基本レンズデータを、表2に非球面係数を、表3にd線に関する諸元と可変面間隔の値を示す。表1~表3に示す数値は、投写距離が無限遠の時の広角端における全系の焦点距離が1となるように規格化されたものであり、所定の桁でまるめたものである。
 表1のSiの欄には最も拡大側の構成要素の拡大側の面を1番目として縮小側に向かうに従い順次増加するように構成要素の面に面番号を付したときのi番目(i=1、2、3、…)の面番号を示し、Riの欄にはi番目の面の曲率半径を示し、Diの欄にはi番目の面とi+1番目の面との光軸Z上の面間隔を示し、Ndjの欄には最も拡大側の構成要素を1番目として縮小側に向かうに従い順次増加するj番目(j=1、2、3、…)の構成要素のd線(波長587.6nm)に関する屈折率を示し、νdjの欄にはj番目の構成要素のd線に関するアッベ数を示す。
 ただし、曲率半径の符号は、拡大側に凸面を向けた形状の場合を正とし、縮小側に凸面を向けた形状の場合を負としている。基本レンズデータには光学部材2も含めて示している。非球面の面番号には*印を付しており、非球面の曲率半径の欄には近軸の曲率半径の数値を記載している。
 表2に、実施例1の各非球面の非球面係数を示す。表2の非球面係数の数値の「E-n」(n:整数)は「×10-n」を意味する。非球面係数は、下式で表される非球面式における各係数KA、Am(m=3、4、5、…)の値である。

 表1のDiの欄に記載されているDD[i]は、i番目の面とi+1番目の面との間隔が可変面間隔であることを意味する。実施例1では、第1レンズ群G1と第2レンズ群G2の間隔、第2レンズ群G2と第3レンズ群G3の間隔、第3レンズ群G3と第4レンズ群G4の間隔、第4レンズ群G4と第5レンズ群G5の間隔は変倍時に変化する可変面間隔であり、それぞれ表1のDD[10]、DD[14]、DD[18]、DD[21]に対応する。また、実施例1では、前群G1Fと後群G1Rの間隔、レンズL14とレンズL15の間隔、後群G1Rと第2レンズ群G2の間隔はフォーカシング時に変化する可変面間隔であり、それぞれ表1のDD[6]、DD[8]、DD[10]に対応する。
 表3の上段に、実施例1の投写用ズームレンズの投写距離が無限遠の時の広角端、中間焦点距離状態、望遠端それぞれにおけるズーム比、全系の焦点距離f’、FナンバーFNo.、全画角2ω(単位は度)、上記各可変面間隔の値を示す。
 表3の下段に、実施例1の投写用ズームレンズの投写距離が基準の時と、最至近の時の広角端、中間焦点距離状態、望遠端それぞれにおけるズーム比、全系の焦点距離f’、FナンバーFNo.、全画角2ω(単位は度)、可変面間隔のうちDD[6]、DD[8]、DD[10]の値を示す。実施例1では、基準の投写距離を119.28、最至近の投写距離を58.66としている。ここで言う投写距離は、投写用ズームレンズの最も拡大側の面から投写面(スクリーン)までの距離である。なお、投写距離が基準の時、最至近の時の広角端、中間焦点距離状態、望遠端それぞれにおけるDD[14]、DD[18]、DD[21]の値は表3の上段に示す値と同じであるため表3の下段ではこれらの記載を省略している。

 図8に、実施例5の投写用ズームレンズの断面図および光線軌跡を示す。実施例5の投写用ズームレンズの群構成としては、拡大側から順に、負の屈折力を有する第1レンズ群G1と、正の屈折力を有する第2レンズ群G2と、正の屈折力を有する第3レンズ群G3と、正の屈折力を有する第4レンズ群G4とが配列されてなる4群構成であり、広角端から望遠端への変倍の際には、第1レンズ群と第4レンズ群G4は固定されており、第2レンズ群G2と3レンズ群G3は縮小側から拡大側へ光軸方向に移動するように構成されている。また、縮小側が非テレセントリックとされている。実施例5では、中間群は第2レンズ群G2と第3レンズ群G3とからなり、最終レンズ群は第4レンズ群G4からなる。
 実施例5の投写用ズームレンズの第1レンズ群G1の概略構成と、フォーカシング方法は実施例1のものと略同様である。実施例5の投写用ズームレンズの第2レンズ群G2は、拡大側から順に、レンズL21~L24の4枚のレンズからなり、第3レンズ群G3は、拡大側から順に、レンズL31、L32の2枚のレンズからなり、第4レンズ群G4は、拡大側から順に、レンズL41~L46の6枚のレンズからなる。レンズL23とレンズL24は接合されており、レンズL31とレンズL32は接合されており、その他のレンズは接合されていない単レンズである。
 表13、表14、表15にそれぞれ、実施例5の投写用ズームレンズの基本レンズデータ、非球面係数、d線に関する諸元と可変面間隔を示す。図26(A)~図26(L)、図27(A)~図27(L)に実施例5の投写用ズームレンズの各収差図を示す。実施例5の基準の投写距離は118.8、最至近の投写距離は58.42である。

 表43に、上記実施例1~14の上記各条件式(1)~(14)の対応値と条件式に用いられている各値を示す。表43の「条件式」の欄には式の番号と対応する物理量を記載し、上限値、下限値の記載は省略している。表43に示す値は投写距離が無限遠のときのd線に関するものである。

 以上、実施形態および実施例を挙げて本発明を説明したが、本発明の投写用ズームレンズとしては、上記実施例のものに限られるものではなく種々の態様の変更が可能であり、例えば各レンズの曲率半径、面間隔、屈折率、アッベ数、非球面係数を適宜変更することが可能である。
 また、本発明の投写型表示装置は、上記構成のものに限られるものではなく、例えば、用いられるライトバルブや、光束分離または光束合成に用いられる光学部材は、上記構成に限定されず、種々の態様の変更が可能である。

Claims (20)

  1.  最も拡大側に配置され、変倍の際に固定されている負の屈折力を有する第1レンズ群と、
     最も縮小側に配置され、変倍の際に固定されている正の屈折力を有する最終レンズ群と、
     前記第1レンズ群と前記最終レンズ群の間に配置され、変倍の際に移動する複数のレンズ群を含む中間群とから実質的に構成され、
     前記中間群の最も拡大側のレンズ群および前記中間群の最も縮小側のレンズ群はともに、正の屈折力を有し、広角端から望遠端への変倍の際に縮小側から拡大側へ移動するものであり、
     縮小側が非テレセントリックであり、
     前記最終レンズ群が2枚以上の正レンズと2枚以上の負レンズとを含み、前記最終レンズ群の最も縮小側には正の屈折力を有する最縮小側正レンズが配置され、
     下記条件式(1)を満足することを特徴とする投写用ズームレンズ。
     3.00<fGe/fw<12.00 (1)
    ただし、
    fGe:前記最終レンズ群の焦点距離
    fw:投写距離が無限遠の時の広角端における全系の焦点距離
  2.  前記第1レンズ群は、拡大側から順に、拡大側から1~3番目のレンズからなる前群と、後群とから構成され、
     前記前群は非球面レンズを含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
  3.  前記最縮小側正レンズは両凸レンズであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
  4.  前記最縮小側正レンズの拡大側には、該最縮小側正レンズとの間に第1の空気レンズが形成されるように縮小側に凹面を向けた負レンズが配置されており、
     下記条件式(2)を満足することを特徴とする請求項1または3記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     0.01<d1/Hr1<0.15 (2)
    ただし、
    d1:前記第1の空気レンズの中心厚
    Hr1:前記第1の空気レンズの縮小側の面の最大有効半径
  5.  下記条件式(3)を満足することを特徴とする請求項4記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     0.30<RF1×(NdR1-1)/((RR1×(NdF1-1))<1.10 (3)
    ただし、
    RF1:前記第1の空気レンズの拡大側の面の曲率半径
    RR1:前記第1の空気レンズの縮小側の面の曲率半径
    NdF1:前記第1の空気レンズを形成する前記負レンズのd線に関する屈折率
    NdR1:前記最縮小側正レンズのd線に関する屈折率
  6.  下記条件式(4)を満足することを特徴とする請求項1記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     1.50<fp12/fw<5.00 (4)
    ただし、
    fp12:前記最終レンズ群の縮小側から2番目の正レンズから前記最縮小側正レンズまでの合成焦点距離
  7.  前記最終レンズ群は、前記最縮小側正レンズとは異なる拡大側に凸面を向けた正レンズと、該正レンズの拡大側に該正レンズとの間に第2の空気レンズが形成されるように配置された縮小側に凹面を向けた負レンズとを含み、
     下記条件式(5)を満足することを特徴とする請求項1または3記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     0.01<d2/Hr2<0.15 (5)
    ただし、
    d2:前記第2の空気レンズの中心厚
    Hr2:前記第2の空気レンズの縮小側の面の最大有効半径
  8.  下記条件式(6)を満足することを特徴とする請求項7記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     0.30<RF2×(NdR2-1)/((RR2×(NdF2-1))<1.10 (6)
    ただし、
    RF2:前記第2の空気レンズの拡大側の面の曲率半径
    RR2:前記第2の空気レンズの縮小側の面の曲率半径
    NdF2:前記第2の空気レンズを形成する前記負レンズのd線に関する屈折率
    NdR2:前記第2の空気レンズを形成する前記正レンズのd線に関する屈折率
  9.  下記条件式(7)、(8)を満足することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     2.50<Bf/y<4.50 (7)
     0.80<y/fw (8)
    ただし、
    Bf:全系の縮小側の空気換算距離でのバックフォーカス
    y:縮小側の最大像高
  10.  下記条件式(9)を満足することを特徴とする請求項2記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     -2.50<fG1F/fw<-0.80 (9)
    ただし、
    fG1F:前記前群の焦点距離
  11.  前記中間群は、変倍の際に移動する正の屈折力を有する2つのレンズ群からなることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
  12.  下前記中間群は、変倍の際に移動する3つのレンズ群からなり、
     該3つのレンズ群は拡大側から順に、正の屈折力を有するレンズ群、負の屈折力を有するレンズ群、正の屈折力を有するレンズ群であることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
  13.  下記条件式(10)を満足することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     4.00<Dep/y<6.00 (10)
    ただし、
    Dep:縮小側を射出側としたときの、広角端における近軸射出瞳位置から縮小側の像面までの距離
    y:縮小側の最大像高
  14.  下記条件式(11)を満足することを特徴とする請求項13記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     1.50<LGe/y<4.00 (11)
    ただし、
    LGe:前記最終レンズ群の最も拡大側の面から縮小側の像面までの光軸上の距離
  15.  下記条件式(1’’)を満足することを特徴とする請求項1記載の投写用ズームレンズ。
     5.00<fGe/fw<10.00 (1’’)
  16.  下記条件式(7’)を満足することを特徴とする請求項9記載の投写用ズームレンズ。

  20.  光源と、該光源からの光が入射するライトバルブと、該ライトバルブにより光変調された光による光学像をスクリーン上に投写する投写用ズームレンズとしての請求項1から19のいずれか1項記載の投写用ズームレンズとを備えたことを特徴とする投写型表示装置。
