Definitions
- connection structure of the crimp terminal configured as described in (1) above with respect to the electric wire, the conductor of the electric wire and the insulation coating are bitten into the serration formed on the inner periphery of the cap. Improvements can be made.
- the insulating coating of the electric wire bites into the serration, the adhesion and bonding force between the insulating coating of the electric wire and the cap are increased. Therefore, moisture intrusion is blocked at that portion, and sufficient waterproof performance can be maintained without using a filler. Therefore, since the management item of the filler is not necessary, the practicality is further improved and it is easy to use.
- connection structure of the crimp terminal of the configuration (2) to the electric wire at least the serration that the insulating coating bites into is formed as an annular groove continuous with the inner periphery of the cylindrical peripheral wall of the cap, whereby the longitudinal direction of the electric wire Therefore, the moisture intrusion path is blocked at the portion where the insulation coating has penetrated into the serration, and the waterproof performance can be improved more reliably.
- connection structure of the crimp terminal having the configuration (3) to the electric wire since the cap and the terminal are made of the same kind of metal, even if moisture adheres to the contact portion between the cap and the terminal, electrolytic corrosion does not occur.

- 5A and 5B are explanatory views of a conventional connection structure between a terminal and an electric wire.
- FIG. 5A is a perspective view showing a state where a cap is being put on the end of the electric wire
- FIG. The perspective view which shows the state which is going to set the terminal of the stranded electric wire to the electric wire connection part of a terminal
- FIG.5 (c) is a terminal by crimping the conductor crimping piece of an electric wire connection part to the terminal of the conductor set to the electric wire connection part. It is a perspective view which shows the state which connected the conductor.
- FIG. 1 is an explanatory view of an embodiment, and a completed perspective view and an exploded perspective view showing a relationship between a crimp terminal, an electric wire, and a cap
- FIG. 2 (a) is an external perspective view of the cap
- FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing the relationship between the cap and the electric wire after being crimped.
- this crimp terminal 10 is of a female type, and has a box-shaped electric connection portion 11 with a built-in spring piece for connecting to a counterpart terminal or the like (not shown) at the front. It has the electric wire connection part 12 crimped and connected with respect to the terminal part of the electric wire W through the connection part 13 in the rear part.
- the electric wire connecting portion 12 is formed in a substantially U shape in a sectional view by a bottom plate portion 21 and a pair of electric wire crimping pieces 22 extending upward from both side edges of the bottom plate portion 21, and the conductor crimping portion 14 located on the front side. And a covering crimping portion 15 located on the rear side.
- the front conductor crimping portion 14 and the rear covering crimping portion 15 are continuously formed with substantially equal widths.
- the wire crimping piece 22 is bent inward so as to wrap the terminal portion of the electric wire W to be connected, so that the terminal portion of the electric wire W is crimped so as to be in close contact with the upper surface of the bottom plate portion 21.
- the terminal portion is covered from the conductor Wa to the portion with the coating Wb.
- a metal cap 30 is attached to the. Then, by crimping the wire crimping piece 22 so as to surround the cap 30, the cap 30 and the terminal portion of the wire W are crushed and deformed, and the wire W and the crimp terminal 10 are connected. At that time, the connection structure of the embodiment is obtained by causing the conductor Wa and the coating Wb of the electric wire to bite into the serration 38 on the inner periphery of the cap 30 to be crushed (see FIG. 1).
- the conductor Wa and the coating Wb of the electric wire W are bitten into the serration 38 formed on the inner periphery of the cap 30.
- the electrical continuity performance of the cap 30 can be improved, and the coating Wb of the electric wire W bites into the serration 38, thereby increasing the adhesion and bonding force between the coating Wb of the electric wire W and the cap. Accordingly, the entry of moisture is blocked at that portion, and sufficient waterproof performance can be maintained without using a filler. Therefore, since the management item of the filler is not necessary, the practicality is further improved and it is easy to use.
Abstract
