Abstract

明 細 書
レーザーマーキング用二色成形体及びレーザーマーキング方法 技術分野
[0001] 本発明は、レーザー光線照射により、二色成形体の界面部にマーキングされ、生 地色とマーキング部のコントラストが高ぐ鮮明な文字、記号、図柄等が得られ、かつ 耐摩耗性に優れるレーザーマーキング用二色成形体と該二色成形体に対するレー ザ一マーキング方法に関する。 背景技術
[0002] 従来、二色成形体の印字は、透明被覆体の裏面又は着色された支持体表面に文 字、記号、図柄をシノレク印刷、パッド印刷、ホットスタンビング印刷等の印刷を施した 後、支持体又は被覆体を構成する熱可塑性樹脂をインサート成形することにより行わ れている。

(1)有機溶媒を含有するインキを使用するため、環境衛生上に問題がある。
(2)印刷時にインキの滲みが発生する。
(3)次工程のインサート成形前に印刷インキの乾燥が必要であり生産性が劣る。
(4)被覆体あるいは支持体を構成する熱可塑性樹脂をインサート成形した時に、各 樹脂の成形圧力により前工程で印刷された文字、記号、図柄の変形が生じる。
(5)成形工程での成形温度設定によっては印刷された文字、記号、図柄の変色が生 じる。
(6)形状が複雑な二色成形体に対しては印刷ができなレ、。
(7)生産工程が複雑で生産性が劣る。

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0017] 以下、本発明の実施形態について詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれらの実施形態 に限定されるものではない。
本発明の二色成形体は、少なくとも支持体と、該支持体を被覆する被覆体とからな るものであって、前記支持体は、(A)熱可塑性樹脂、 (B)特定エネルギー吸収剤、 及び (C)上記 (B)成分以外の着色剤の 3成分を含有する樹脂組成物から構成され ており、前記被覆体は、 (D)透明の熱可塑性樹脂から構成されている。
以下、各成分について説明する。
[0018] (A)熱可塑性樹脂:
本発明の樹脂組成物では、レーザー光線照射により、この熱可塑性樹脂の照射さ れた部分が乖離発泡し、白文字、白色記号及び白色図柄のいずれか一つ以上が発 現する形態、または、レーザー光線照射により、前記熱可塑性樹脂の照射された部 分が炭化し、黒文字、黒色記号及び黒色図柄のいずれか一つ以上が発現する形態 、の 2つの場合がある。
[0019] 上記のうち、レーザー光線照射により、この熱可塑性樹脂の照射された部分が乖離 発泡し、白文字、白色記号及び白色図柄のいずれか一つ以上が発現する形態の場 合、その際の熱可塑性樹脂としては、 MABS樹脂、メチルメタアタリレート Zスチレン 共重合樹脂、メチルメタアタリレート樹脂(PMMA樹脂)、ゴム強化メチルメタアタリレ ート樹脂 (ゴム強化 PMMA樹脂)、ナイロン樹脂、ポリアセタール樹脂、ポリ乳酸系樹 脂、及びポリオレフイン樹脂からなる群より選ばれた少なくとも 1種であることが好まし レ、。これらの中で、特に好ましくは、 MABS樹脂、メチルメタアタリレート/スチレン共

[0020] 一方、レーザー光線照射により、熱可塑性樹脂の照射された部分が炭化し、黒文 字、黒色記号及び黒色図柄のいずれか一つ以上が発現する形態の場合、その際の 熱可塑性樹脂としては、 ABS樹脂、 ASA樹脂、ゴム強化ポリスチレン樹脂、ポリカー ボネート樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート樹脂、ポリブチレンテレフタレート樹脂、ポリ フヱニレンエーテル樹脂、ポリフヱニレンサルファイド樹脂、ポリプロピレン樹脂、ポリ エチレン樹脂、 ABS/ポリカーボネートァロイ樹脂、及び ABS/ポリブチレンテレフ タレートァロイ樹脂からなる群より選ばれた少なくとも 1種であることが好ましい。これら の中で、特に好ましくは、 ABS樹脂、 ASA樹脂、ゴム強化ポリスチレン樹脂、ポリ力 ーボネート樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート樹脂、ポリブチレンテレフタレート樹脂で ある。これらの熱可塑性樹脂は、 1種単独で使用することも、また 2種以上を併用する こともできる。すなわち、熱可塑性樹脂は、 2種以上の樹脂からなるポリマーァロイで あってもよい。

黒色図柄のいずれか一つ以上が発現する形態の場合には、用いられる特定エネル ギー吸収剤としては、例えば、カーボンブラック、雲母、炭酸カルシウムなどの炭酸塩 、珪酸アルミナ、鉄を含む珪酸アルミナ(マイ力)、含水珪酸アルミナ (カオリン)、珪酸 マグネシウム(タルク)、珪酸カルシウムなどの金属珪酸塩が挙げられる。
以上の特定エネルギー吸収剤は、 1種単独で使用することも、 2種以上を併用する ことちできる。
[0023] 本発明に用いられる特定エネルギー吸収剤の添加量は、上記 (A)熱可塑性樹脂 1 00質量部に対し、 0. 000:!〜 5質量部である。
すなわち、レーザー光線照射により、熱可塑性樹脂の照射された部分が乖離発泡 し、白文字、白色記号及び白色図柄のいずれか一つ以上が発現する形態の場合に は、特定エネルギー吸収剤の添カ卩量は、(A)熱可塑性樹脂 100質量部に対し、 0. 0 05〜5質量部、好ましくは 0. 01〜3質量部、さらに好ましくは 0. 02〜:!質量部であ る。 0. 005質量部未満では充分なコントラストが得られず、一方、 5質量部を超えると エネルギー吸収機能が過剰となり同様にコントラストが低下する。
一方、レーザー光線照射により熱可塑性樹脂の照射された部分が炭化し、黒文字 、黒色記号及び黒色図柄のいずれか一つ以上が発現する形態の場合には、特定ェ ネルギー吸収剤の添カ卩量は、(A)熱可塑性樹脂 100質量部に対し、 0. 0001〜5質 量部、好ましくは 0. 00015〜3質量部、さらに好ましくは 0. 0002〜1質量部である。
0. 0001質量部未満では充分なコントラストが得られず、一方、 5質量部を超えるとェ ネルギー吸収機能が過剰となり同様にコントラストが低下する。
[0024] この(C)着色剤は、上記した(B)成分の特定エネルギー吸収剤以外のものである。
(C)着色剤としては、無機顔料、有機顔料、染料などが挙げられる。このうち、無機 顔料としては、白色顔料として酸化チタン、硫酸バリウム、硫化亜鉛、酸化亜鉛、黄色 顔料として酸化鉄、チタンイェロー、赤色顔料として酸化鉄、青色顔料としてコバルト ブルー、群青などが挙げられる。また、有機顔料としては、黄色はモノァゾ、縮合ァゾ 、アンスラキノン、ジスァゾ、複素環、赤色はキナクリドン、アンスラキノン、ペリレン、モ ノアゾ、青色はフタロシアニン、緑色はフタロシアニンなどが挙げられる。さらに、染料 としては、黄色はモノァゾ、アンスラキノン、ジスァゾ、複素環、赤色はアンスラキノン、
ペリノン、チォインヂゴ、ジスァゾ、青色はアンスラキノンなどが挙げられる。
[0025] (C)着色剤の使用量は、(A)熱可塑性樹脂 100質量部に対し、 0〜: 10質量部、好 ましくは 0. 7〜8質量部である。 (C)着色剤が 10質量部を超えると、二色成形体とし ての物性低下が起こる可能性があり、好ましくない。
[0026] 本発明において、(A)〜(C)の 2成分又は 3成分からなる支持体を調製するには、 例えば、(A)〜(C)成分を、ヘンシェルミキサーなどで混合し、一般の押出機などで 溶融混合してペレツトイ匕するなどの手段により得られるが、これに限定されるものでは なレ、。なお、支持体の厚さは 0. 5〜5mmが好ましぐ 0. 7〜4mmがさらに好ましレ、。
[0027] (D)透明の熱可塑性樹脂:
被覆体を形成する透明の熱可塑性樹脂としては、例えば、ポリメタタリルスチレン樹 脂 (MS樹脂)、 AS樹脂、メチルメタアタリレート樹脂 (PMMA樹脂)、軟質メチルメタ アタリレート樹脂(軟質 PMMA樹脂)、ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレ ート樹脂、ポリシクロへキサン 1 , 4ージメチルフタレート樹脂、ポリスチレン樹脂、透明 ABS樹脂、ポリ塩化ビュル樹脂、ポリプロピレン樹脂、ポリエチレン樹脂などが挙げら れる。これらの透明熱可塑性樹脂の中で、特に表面硬度特性から、メチルメタアタリレ ート樹脂、軟質メチルメタアタリレート樹脂、ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフ タレート樹脂が好ましい。さらに好ましくは、メチルメタアタリレート樹脂、軟質メチルメ タアタリレート樹脂である。なお、被覆体の厚さは 0· 5〜5mmが好ましぐ 0. 7〜4m mがさらに好ましい。
[0028] 本発明の二色成形体は、前記支持体と前記被覆体を、射出成形にて共成形するこ とにより形成することが好ましい。
射出成形による共成形方法としては、コアバック法、ダイスライド法、ロータリー法な どのような二色(二種類)の樹脂をそれぞれ別々の射出シリンダーから金型内部に順 次、射出充填して異種材料あるいは異色材料の成形品を作る成形法が挙げられる。
[0029] この二色成形体において、前記被覆体と前記支持体は、被覆体 Z支持体 = 1Z9
〜9/1の厚み構成比であることが好ましぐ被覆体/支持体 = 3/7〜7/3の厚み 構成比であることがさらに好ましい。この厚みの構成比であると、場合によっては更な るコントラストを出す際、 2回レーザーマーキングを実施することがある力 このようなケ
ースであっても被覆体のクラック、破損が起こらず、レーザーマーキング条件巾の広 いシート厚み構成であり、好ましいものである。
[0030] また、二色成形体の全体の厚みは、通常 1. 0〜: 10mm、好ましくは 1. 5〜8mmで ある。
[0031] なお、上記二色成形体を構成する支持体と被覆体には、必要に応じて、その特性 を損なわない範囲で、他の添加剤、例えば離型剤、安定剤、酸化防止剤、紫外線吸 収剤、強化剤などを添加することができる。
[0032] 本発明の二色成形体を用いてレーザーマーキングするには、例えば、これらの成 形体に、レーザー発振波長が 532〜: 1064nm、レーザー媒質がネオジゥム変性イツ トリウム—アルミニウム—ガーネット、又はネオジゥム変性イットリウム—四酸化バナジ ゥムであるレーザーマーカーを照射して印字し、印字発色部と下地部とのコントラスト 力 ¾以上とする、レーザーマーキング方法を採用することが好ましレ、。
[0033] なお、レーザーマーカーとしては、レーザービームはシングルモードでもマルチモ ードでもよぐまたビーム径が 20〜40 μ ΐηのように絞ったもののほ力、ビーム径が 80 〜100 /i mのごとく広いものについても用いることができる力 シングルモードで、ビ 一ム径が 20〜40 μ ΐηの方力 印字発色部と下地部のコントラストを 3以上とし、コント ラストが良好な印字品質を得る点で好ましい。
[0034] 本発明のレーザーマーキング用二色成形体は、レーザーマーク性に優れ、被覆体 と支持体の界面にレーザーで文字、記号及び図柄などを、容易かつ美麗に描くこと ができる。従って、本発明のレーザーマーキング用二色成形体は、電気部品、電子 部品、自動車部品、各種記録媒体のケース、各種表示板などの印字に効果的に使 用すること力 Sできる。
実施例
[0035] 以下、本発明を実施例によりさらに具体的に説明するが、本発明は、これらの実施 例により何ら限定されるものではなレ、。なお、以下の実施例および比較例における「 部」および「%」は特に断りのない限り質量部および質量%を意味する。また、実施例 における各種の評価、測定は、下記方法により実施した。

コニカミノルタ社製の輝度計(LS100)を用いて測定した。数値の大きいほどコント ラストが高ぐ視認性が高レ、。本発明では、コントラストが 3以上のときに合格(〇)とし 、コントラストが 2以上、 3未満のときに△、コンントラストが 2未満のときに不合格(X )と した。

被覆体のクラックの有無は、キーエンス社製の拡大顕微鏡 (VH5900)を用いて観 察した。

熱可塑性樹脂のゴム強化メチルメタアタリレート樹脂(ゴム強化 PMMA樹脂)として 、三菱レイヨン社製アタリペット VRL40 (商品名)と通常のメチルメタアタリレート樹脂 である三菱レイヨン社製アタリペット MF (商品名)とをブレンドし、ゴム量が 15質量0 /0
となるように調製した。調製は、通常の押出機による造粒で行った。調製したゴム強 ィ匕メチルメタアタリレート樹脂(ゴム強化 PMMA樹脂) 100質量部に対し、カーボンブ ラック(三菱化学社製、 # 20) 0. 1質量部、着色剤である酸化チタン 0. 02質量部、 着色剤である群青(第一化成社製、 AP20D 0. 1質量部のほか、ジメチルポリシロキ サン Z二酸化珪素混合物(東レダウコーユングシリコーン社製、商品グレード: 125M ) 2. 0質量部を添加し、高速ミキサーで均一混合し、押出機、ペレタイザ一にて造粒 して支持体用のコンパゥンドを調製した。
そして、まず射出成形機にて厚み 3. 0mmの平板プレートを作製し、 Nd:YAGレ 一ザ一を使用してマーキングされた箇所の発色性を評価した。その結果を表 1に示 す。
[0041] 次に、被覆体用として PMMA樹脂(三菱レイヨン社製、商品名:アタリペット MF)、 軟質 PMMA樹脂(クラレ社製、商品名:パラペット NW05)のコンパウンドを調製し、 支持体用及び被覆体用の二色(二種類)の樹脂コンパゥンドをそれぞれ別々の射出 シリンダーから金型内部に順次、射出充填することにより共成形して、それぞれの厚 みが 2· 0mm (全体の厚さが 4· 0mm)の二色成形体を作製した。そして、この二色 成形体に Nd: YAGレーザーを使用してマーキングされた箇所の発色性及びコントラ ストを測定した。その結果を表 1に示す。

群青及びジメチルポリシロキサン/二酸化珪素混合物を用いないこと以外は、実施 例 1と同様にして、平板プレートの発色性と、二色成形体の発色性及びコントラストを 評価した。結果を表 1に示す。

ゴム強化 PMMA樹脂の代わりに、ナイロン樹脂 (宇部興産社製、商品名:宇部ナイ ロン 1015GU6)を用いたこと以外は、実施例 1と同様にして、平板プレートの発色 性と、二色成形体の発色性及びコントラストを評価した。結果を表 1に示す。

ゴム強化 PMMA樹脂の代わりに、透明 ABS樹脂 (NABS樹脂)(東レ社製、商品 名:トヨラック 920)を用いたこと以外は、実施例 1と同様にして、平板プレートの発色 性と、二色成形体の発色性及びコントラストを評価した。結果を表 1に示す。

ゴム強化 PMMA樹脂の代わりにポリカーボネート樹脂(出光興産社製、商品名:タ フロン A1700)を用いるとともに、カーボンブラック 0. 001質量部、酸化チタン 0· 2質 量部、及び硫化亜鉛 (サクトルベン社製、商品名:サクトリス HD) 0. 2質量部を用い 、着色剤である群青及びジメチルポリシロキサン/二酸化珪素混合物を用いないこと 以外は、実施例 1と同様にして、二色成形体の発色性及びコントラストを評価した。結 果を表 2に示す。

[0051] 表 1の結果から、実施例 1〜5のように、支持体としてゴム強化 PMMA樹脂、ナイ口 ン樹脂を用いる場合には、レーザー光線照射によって照射部分が乖離発泡し、白文 字等が明瞭に発現しているが、一方、比較例 1のように、透明 ABS樹脂もレーザー光 線照射によってその部分が乖離発泡するが乖離したラジカルガスの量が少なぐ白 文字等の発色性が極めて低いことがわかる。また、表 2から、支持体としてポリカーボ ネート樹脂、 ABS樹脂を用いる場合には、レーザー光線照射によって照射部分が炭 化し、黒文字等が明瞭に発現していることがわかる。
産業上の利用可能性
[0052] 本発明に係るレーザーマーキング用二色成形体は、支持体が黒色のときにも文字 、記号、図柄等がコントラスト良好にマーキングされ、しかも半永久的な耐摩耗性を有 するので、電気部品、電子部品、 自動車部品、各種記録媒体のケース、各種表示板 などの印字に効果的に使用することができ、しかも、厚みを比較的大きく取れるので、 パソコンなどのキーボードスィッチへ好ましく適用できる。
Claims
[1] 少なくとも支持体と、該支持体を被覆する被覆体とからなる 2色成形体であって、 前記支持体は、(A)熱可塑性樹脂 100質量部に対して、(B)カーボンブラック、チ タンブラック、四三酸化鉄、雲母、炭酸塩、及び金属珪酸塩からなる群より選ばれた 少なくとも 1種からなる特定エネルギー吸収剤 0. 000:!〜 5質量部、及び(C)上記(B
)成分以外の着色剤 0〜: 10質量部を含有する樹脂組成物から構成され、
前記被覆体は、(D)透明の熱可塑性樹脂から構成されている、
レーザーマーキング用二色成形体。
[2] 前記支持体と前記被覆体が、射出成形にて共成形されてなる請求項 1記載のレー ザ一マーキング用二色成形体。
[3] レーザー光線照射により、前記 (A)熱可塑性樹脂の照射された部分が乖離発泡し 、白文字、白色記号及び白色図柄のいずれか一つ以上を発現する請求項 1又は 2 に記載のレーザーマーキング用二色成形体。
[4] 前記 (A)熱可塑性樹脂が、 MABS樹脂、メチルメタアタリレート/スチレン共重合 樹脂、メチルメタアタリレート樹脂、ゴム強化メチルメタアタリレート樹脂、ナイロン樹脂 、ポリアセタール樹脂、ポリ乳酸系樹脂、及びポリオレフイン樹脂からなる群より選ば れた少なくとも 1種である請求項 3記載のレーザーマーキング用二色成形体。
[5] 前記 (A)熱可塑性樹脂が、ゴム強化メチルメタアタリレート樹脂である請求項 4記載 のレーザーマーキング用二色成形体。
[6] レーザー光線照射により、前記 (A)熱可塑性樹脂の照射された部分が炭化し、黒 文字、黒色記号及び黒色図柄のいずれか一つ以上を発現する請求項 1又は 2に記 載のレーザーマーキング用二色成形体。
[7] 前記 (A)熱可塑性樹脂が、 ABS樹脂、 ASA樹脂、ゴム強化ポリスチレン樹脂、ポリ カーボネート樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート樹脂、ポリブチレンテレフタレート樹脂
、ポリフエ二レンエーテル樹脂、ポリフエ二レンサルファイド樹脂、ポリプロピレン樹脂、 ポリエチレン樹脂、 ABS/ポリカーボネートァロイ樹脂、及び ABS/ポリブチレンテ レフタレートァロイ樹脂からなる群より選ばれた少なくとも 1種である請求項 6記載のレ 一ザ一マーキング用二色成形体。
[8] 前記被覆体と前記支持体が、被覆体/支持体 = 1/9〜9/1の厚み構成比であ る請求項:!〜 7のいずれか 1項に記載のレーザーマーキング用二色成形体。
[9] 請求項:!〜 8のいずれか 1項に記載のレーザーマーキング用二色成形体に、レー ザ一発振波長が 532〜: 1064nm、レーザー媒質がネオジゥム変性イットリウム—アル ミニゥム一ガーネット又はネオジゥム変性イットリウム一四酸化バナジウムであるレー ザ一マーカーを照射して印字し、印字発色部と下地部とのコントラストが 3以上とする 、レーザーマーキング方法。
