EDVIN C. OLCOTT, OF ONEIDA CASTLE, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SPEEDING SLEIGH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,272, dated February 28, 1899.
Application filed February 6, 1899. Serial lie-704,741. Term of patent years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWIN C. OLCOTT, a citizen of the United States, residingat Oneida. Castle, in the county of Oneida and State of NewYork, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Speeding Sleighs, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In said drawings, Figure 1 is a side view of my design, and Fig. 2 is a front end view of the same.
The leading and material features of my design consist of the two arches a a, rising from the straight bases b b and inclined with their tops toward each other. The front arch a is disposed at a more acute angle than the rear arch a, and upon the tops of the two arches is the deck c. Said arches form under them clear semicircular or approximately semicircular open spaces D, as shown in Fig.
2 of the drawings. The front ends of the bases h h are extended with upwardly and rearwardly large circular curves b, terminating in proximity to the upper portions of the front arch a, as shown in Fig. l of the drawings. From the upper portions of the front arch and equidistant from the center thereof extend forward two rods d, the front ends of which are bifurcated and united with the curves b. From the ends of these curves extend the rearwardly, upwardly, and forwardly curved ends e of the thills.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is=- The design for a speeding sleigh as herein shown and described.
