Application filed October 1, 1897. Serial No. 653,758. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARION A. Figures 1, 2, and 3 are respectively side and rear elevations and inverted plan view of a bicycle-frame embodying my design.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in a bicycle-frame which, when viewed in side elevation, presents a substantially parallelogrannnatie appearance at its upper portion and a substantiallytriangular appearance at its lower portion. The outline of the frame is defined by the front and rear bars a a and the upper and lower bars a (L The bar a connects the front ends of the bars a? a and inclines forwardly toward its lower extremity. The bar a connects the rear ends of the bars a a and its lower extremity is formed with separated branches dflhavin g their outer faces provided with inwardly-extending cut-outs (t arranged above the lower bar (L The upper bar a is arranged in a substantially horizontal plane, and the lower bar a is inclined upwardly from its rear portion toward the lower extremity of the front bar a. The rear portion of said lower bar is formed with separated branches a having their outer faces provided with inwardly-extending cut-outs a arranged in front of the rear bar a. The junctions of the branches a a of the rear and lower bars a a are provided with lateral and rearward extensions a a. The lateral extensions co project from the outer faces of said junctions beneath the cut-outs (t and at the rear of the cut-outs a and the rearward extensions a project rearwardly above the extensions a and are formed with substantially horizontal rear ends.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a bicycle-frame, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name, in the presence of two attesting witnesses, at Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga, in the State of New York, this 16th day of September, 1897.
