CHARLES FRANK SMITH, OF COPENHAGEN, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO RODERICK MCRAE, OF LOI VVILLE, NEIV YORK.
DESIGN FOR A HOOF-PAD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,615, dated November 27, 1900.
Application filed October 26. 1900. Serial No. 34,512. Term of patent 7 years.
To (ti/Z Ichrmt it 71m concern;
Be it known that I, CHARLES FRANK SMITH, a citizen of the United States, residing at (10 penhageu, in the county of Lewis and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Hoof- Iad; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates toa design forahoofpad, the essential features of which are clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of the pad. Fig. :2 is a central vertical section, and Fig. i is a front elevation of the pad.
Reference now being had to the details of the design by letter, A designates the pad,
which is substantially the shape of the hoof of a horse. Theupper edge of the pad is flat and inclines rearward. At the highest part of the hoof, on the forward portion, the upper edge dips, as at B, the portions of the upper edge on either side of the vertical median line curving downward, forming a V-shaped groove. The lower edge of the pad is flat and is slightly spiraled toward the upper edge of the pad. The diametrically opposite portions of the pad, midway between the front and rear parts of the pad, are slightly coucaved, as shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is The design for a hoof-pad, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
CHARLES FRANK SMITH. Witnesses:
