DESIGN FOR A CORN-FORK.
Application filed November 1, 1900. Serial No. 35,183. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom] it may concern/.-
Be it known that LW'ILLIAM NORTHGRAV'ES, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Perth,in the county of Lanark,PI-ovince of Ontario, Canada, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Corn- Forks, of which the following is a specification,reference being had to theaccom tianying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a plan View of a corn-fork, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a reverse view of the corn-fork. Fig. 3 is an edge view in eleration.
As shown by the drawings, one of the essential features of my design is the bowl A, having the straight narrow slots 0. a. and the tapering tine B, which is free at its outer end from the bowl. The taperof the tine and inclination of the edges of the slots to make the outer ends of the slots present a widened appearance. The rounded rear edges of the bowl merge into the handle C.
Another essential feature of the design consists in cross bolsters or lugs (Z d, projecting from opposite side edges of the handle. Said cross bolsters or lugs taper from the handle toward their outer ends, and the lugs of one pair are suitably spaced to the lugs of the other pair.
Another essential feature of my design is the scalloped edge or flange E on the curved rear edge of the bowl, as shown, two of the scallops being larger than the others.
