To all whom it III/t1] concern.-
lie it known that I. WILLIAM II. JAHUU- NEAU, a citizen oi. the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and prod need a new and original. The figure of the drawing is a front plan of a spoon of my improved design, 01." which the following is a specification, the one figure being deemed sufficient to fully illustrate the same.
The leading feature of the design consists in the spoon or fork handle having an inclined bell-shaped ornamentation thereon at the end opposite the howl or prongs.
in said drawing, a indicates the bowl of the S1)O0ll,]l the broad end of the handle opposite said bowl, and c the narrow shank oi the handle. The broad portion 1) is ornamented with the representation of a cracked hell 1?, attached to a beam (E, from which latter appears to depend the representation of a rope f, which also is represented as being twisted on the narrow shank. The hell-shaped ornament appears to hang at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the handle and at the lower end lies beyond the normal edge line of the spoon, as shown.
What I claim is The design for a fork, spoon, or other flat ware handle, having the shape and ornamentation as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 7th day of May, 1891.
