GEORGE \VILKINSON, OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, ASSIGNOR TO GORHAM MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR SPOON AND FORK HANDLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,142, dated January 18, 1881. Application filed August 28,1880. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE WILKINSON, of the city and county of Providence and State of ihode Island, have invented a new and original Design for the Handles of Spoons and Forks in Silver and Plated \Vares, of whieh the followingis a specification.
In the accompanying photograph, A represents a front View of the design, the outline ot'which is an essential feature. The upper portion, at the pointdesignated l, is a floral decoration raised from the surface of the handle, over which is a semicircular line of raised beads. At the point designated 3 is a deeoration in the form of a rosette. At each of the points designated 3 and 4 is an or nainental transverse hand. The seetionofthe handle extending from 3 to 4 consists of a series of curved lines running from the edge of the handle on either side toward the middle line of the handle. At the termination of the handle, at the point designated 5, the ornamentation is in the form of raised corrir gation's, tapering as they approach the end ol the handle.
Figure B represents the reverse view of the design. At the point designated 0 the ornament consists of a rosette. the ornament is ot'a shell-like form.
The several features ofornaiuentation above deserihedare to hesuhstantiallysneh as shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.
I claim as my invention- The design for spoon and fork handles, eonsisting of the parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, sub stantially as herein shown.
