w/r/vEssm UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
AUSTIN F. JACKSON, OF TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR SPOONS, FORKS, LADLES, 800.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,467, dated April 10, 1900.
Application filed March 14, 1900. Serial No. 8,677. Term of patent14 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AUSTIN F. JACKSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Taunton, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Handles of Spoons, Forks, Ladies, and Kindred Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in which- Figure l is an obverse and Fig. 2 a reverse elevation of a spoon, showing my new design, the tines of a fork being indicated by dotted lines in both figures.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the design forming the subject-matter of the accompanying illustration.
The handle A has the narrow shank A, which swells out laterally at B and widens gradually at C toward the end of the handle. Ribs D extend longitudinally along the edge of the handle, and the obverse is ornamented, as shown in Fig. 1, by scrolls E at the end of the handle, scrolls F upon the portion C, and a row of beads extending along the shank A.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a handle for spoons, forks, ladies and kindred articles, as herein shown and described.
AUSTIN F. JACKSON.
