DESIGN FOR A SPOON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,196, dated February 7, 1893.
Application filed November 10, 1892. Serial No. 451,56 T of patent 3% y ars- .To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, JUsTUs VERSCHUUR, a citizen of the United States, residing at J er sey City, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoons; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
The figure of the drawing is deemed sufficient to fully illustrate the design, the said figure representing the obverse side of a spoon.
The leading features of the design consist in a spoon, the handle of which is decorated with a representation of Santa Claus, and the bowl with a picture of a Christmas tree.
In said drawing, A indicates the broader part of the handle of a spoon, B is the narrower part or shank and C the bowl of the spoon. The bowl is decorated on the concave side thereof with a. picture or representation of a Christmas tree, d, having a star e, at its upper extremity. The shank is decorated with representations of holly leaves and herries,f,and with a bird, g,singing in the midst of the same. At the wide extremity of the handle, the same is decorated with a representation of Santa Claus, h, holding a toy in one hand and with the other stroking his beard.
What I claim is The design for a spoon herein described consisting of a spoon decorated on the handle with the figure of Santa Claus and on the bowl with the figure of a Christmas tree, substantially as shown and described.
