PATENT OFFICE.
\VILLIAM SENTER, OF PORTLAND, MAINE.
DESIGN FOR A SPOON, 80C.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,167,
dated November 10, 1891.
Application filed March 21. 1891. Serial No. 385,928. Term of patent 7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM SENTER, a oiti zen of the United States, residing at Portland, in the county of Cumberland and State of Maine, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Designs for Spoons, Forks, &c.; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as w1ll enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to a new design for spoons, forks, and other like table-ware; and the principal feature of my design is the figure of a tower or observatory on the handle near the end.
In the accompanying drawings I illustrate a spoon embodying my new design.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a face view, and Fig. 2 a section.
A represents the bowl, and I the handle, of the spoon.
G is the figure of a tower or observatory in relief on or near the end of the handle. The base of the tower is toward the bowl of the spoon and the small end is near the extremity of the handle. The tower here shown is 00- tagonal in form with windows in each side, and it has a railing at the top, above which is the lantern with a conical roof ending in a ball. Flag-staffs stand about the lantern. The form of the tower is such that it conforms to the general shape of the handle of the spoon and produces a neat and attractive design.
I claim- The design for a spoon having the shape and ornamentation shown.
In testimony whereof I alfix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
\VILLIAM SENTER.
