UNITED STATES PATENT OEEIcE.
PERRY A. STARK, OF DURANGO, COLORADO.
DESIGN FOR A POTATO-BIGGER ATTACHMENT FOR PLOWS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,282, dated February 28, 1899.
Application filed February 4, 1899. Serial No. 704,587. Term of patent 14 years.
To (all whom it may concern.-
lle it known that I, PERRY A. STARK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Du ran go, in the county of La Plata and State of Colorado, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Potato-Digger Attachment for llows, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a potato-digger attachment for plows; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a fork having an obliquely-arranged tine-bar and a plurality of parallel spaced tines de pending from one side of said bar at an inclination to a vertical plane and disposed in a common transverse oblique plane, said tines being longitudinally curved and provided at their lower extremities with bent terminals.
The minor features of the design are the tine-bar provided at one end with a straight arm extension disposed at an obtuse angle thereto and also provided in the end opposite said arm extension with a hole.
An additional minor feature of the design is the curved tines being of a downwardlytapering form.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a potato-digger attachment for plows embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a top view thereof. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view on the line 3 3 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 1 designates an obliquely-arranged straight cross-sectionally-fiat tine-bar provided at one end with a straight arm extension 2, disposed at an obtuse angle thereto and also provided at the end opposite its arm extension with a circular hole 3. At one side of the plane of its straight arm extension 2 the said tine-bar is provided with a plurality of parallel spaced tines 3. The parallel spaced tines S are of a downwardly-tapering form and also have a longitudinal curvature and depend from one side of the tine-bar at an inclination to a vertical plane. \Vhile the said tines depend from the tine-bar at a forward inclination to a vertical plane, the several adjacent tines are alined in a common transverse obliquc plane, which is parallel to the plane of the tine-bar 1, as clearly indicated by the dotted line in Fig. 2 of the drawings.
To complete the design, the longitudinallycurved tines are provided at their lower ex tremities with deflected or bent terminals 5.
\Vhat is claimed is- The design fora potato-digger attachment for plows, herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
PERRY A. STARK.
