CHRISTOPHER WfLEVALLEY, OF MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN.
DESEGN FOR A GONVEYER-CHAlN LINK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,245, dated. March 19, 1901.
Application filed February 23, 1901. Serial No. 8,620. Term of patent 14 years.
To ctZZ whom, it may concern:
7 Be it known that I, CHRISTOPHER W. Ln- VALLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented and produced a new and original Design for C013- veyer-Ohain Links, of which the following is a specification.
My present invention is a new and original design for links of a chain conveyer.
In the accompanying drawings, wherein my design is illustrated, Figure 1 is a top plan view of a link made according to my design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation or edge view of the same. Fig. 3 is a cross-section on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 4 is a cross-section on the line a a of Fig. 1.
The cross-bar A, which connects the side bars B at their forward ends, has a flat front face a and a rounded rear face a. The side bars are provided along their lower edges with laterally-extending flanges 19, which are arranged in the plane of the bottom edges of the side bars. Near their rear ends the side bars are formed with outward-extending verticallydisposed wings O, with the lower edges of which the flanges b unite. The rear ends of the side bars are in the shape of substantially cylindrical bosses D, which are centrally perforated, as at d. Short flanges E extend rearward from the wings O in a plane which would substantially bisect the apertures D in the rear ends of the side bars.
The essential and characteristic features of my design are a conveyer-chain link having an end bar with a flat front face or edge and a rounded rear face or edge and side bars con structed or shaped as described, with the flanges b and E and the wings O and with the rear ends perforated.
Having described my design, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a conveyer-chain link, substantially as herein shown and described.
CHRISTOPHER W. LEVALLEY. Witnesses:
