UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HOWARD J. PIERCE, OF LONDONDERRY, VERMONT.
DESIGN FOR A FORK-CROWN FOR BICYCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,235, dated February 13, 1900. Application filed December 6, 1899. Serial No. 739,440. Term of patent 7 years- To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HOWARD J. PIERCE, a citizen of the United States, residing at South Londonderry, in the county of Windham and State of Vermont, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Fork- Grown for Bicycles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawings, forming a part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a front or back elevation of a fork for bicycles, showing my design; and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same.
The leading feature of my design consists of straight transverse bars disposed one above the other, substantially straight side bars connecting the extremities of the transverse bars, a straight intermediate bar rising from the central portions of the transverse bars, and a yoke extending from the upper surface of the lower transverse bar connected therewith at its ends and formed integral with a corresponding yoke depending from the upper transverse bar.
a and b are the transverse bars; a c, the side bars; 01, the intermediate bar, and e e the yokes, meeting atf. The transverse bars have fiat upper and lower surfaces and are arranged one above the other, presenting an edge, front, and rear to the eye. The side bars are substantially straight, with the general contour of a flattened ovoid, connecting the flattened extremities of the transverse bars. The intermediate bar connects the central portions of the transverse bars and is circularin contour.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a fork-crown for bicycles, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
HOWARD J. PIERCE.
