DESIGN.
No. 35,694. Patented Feb. 4, I902.
S. H. HULL.. HALTER LooP.
(Application filed Oct. 23, 1901.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SCOTT H. HULL, O F OSKALOOSA, IOWVA.
DESIGN FOR A HALTER-LOOP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,694, dated February 4, 1902.
Application filed October 23, 1901. Serial No- 79,'748. Term ofpatent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, SCOTT l-I. HULL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oskaloosa, in the county of lWIahaska and State of Iowa, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for Halter-Loops; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to ,which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a design of unique and novel configuration for a halter-loop for connection of the throat-tug to the chin-strap, as shown in the accompanying facsimile drawings, in which Figure 1 is a side view; Fig. 2, a front edge View; Fig. 3, a rear edge View, and Fig. 4 a section on the line X X of Fig. 1.
Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and indicated in all the views of the drawings by the same reference characters.
The essential features of the design are a loop of approximately D form in side elevation, the straight bar being plano-convex in transverse section and arranged with the flat side out and the convex side facing in and having its vertical longitudinal edge portions extended beyond the plane of the sides of the curved bar for a like distance, and a second straight bar spaced from and paralleling the plano-convex bar and connected at its ends to the end portions of the curved bar, which has its end portions gradually widened and merged into the terminals of the front plano-convex bar.
The loop embodies three bars 1, 2, and 3 and is approximately of D form in side view. The bars 1 and 2 are straight and spaced apart a short distance and connect the end portions of the bar 3, which is curved and of substantially semicircular form. The front bar 1 is plano-con vex in cross-section, the fiat side being arranged outermost and the convex side facing in, and this bar is widened, the vertical longitudinal edgeportions projecting equidistant from opposite sides of the loop or parallel planes touching the sides of the bars 2 and 3. The bars 2 and 3 are rounded in transverse section and are about of like transverse extent, so as to lie in the same plane. The end portions of the curvedbar 3 are widened, as shown at 4, and merge into the terminal portions of the bar 1.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is p The design for a halter-loop, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SCOTT H. HULL. [L. s.]
