Description

507 706 2 Enligt föreliggande uppfinning framställs keramiska kompo- siter genom att blanda aluminiumoxidpulver och konventionella sintringstillsatser och korntillväxthämmare med monokristallina SiC whiskers med någon lämplig blandningsteknik.
Efter torkning varmpressas eller varmisostatpressas bland- ningen till en densitet àtminstone 99 % av teoretisk densitet.
Längd/diameterförhàllandet för whiskerna pàverkas inte sá mycket av blandningstekniken och varmpressningsoperation även om det kan förväntas att àtminstone de längre whiskerna kommer att brytas varför det önskade längd/diameterförhàllandet för whiskerna maste regleras genom förmalning av whiskerna före blandningen med aluminiumoxid. Längd/diameterförhállandet för kommersiella SiC-whiskers är normalt mycket högre än 10.
Exempel 1 Aluminiumoxid-30 vol-% SiC-whiskerkompositer med olika längd av whiskerna framställdes pá följande sätt. De använda ràmaterialen är upptagna i tabell 1.

Whiskerlängderna hos ràmaterialet och efter de olika mal- ningsstegen mättes efter dispersion av whiskerna vid en lag koncentration i en ammoniaklösning och efterföljande torkning pä en provhàllare. SEM-foton analyserades sedan manuellt i en Quantimet 570 bildanalysator fràn Cambridge Instrument.
Sammansättningen hölls konstant för alla varianter vid 25 vikt-% SiCw och 0,1 vikt-% MgO och YZO3 respektive. Alla 10 15 20 25 30 3 so? 706 sammansättningar var varmpressade vid 1825 OC i 100 min vid 25 MPa till skivor av diameter 80 mm.
Tabell 2 visar de förmalningstider som användes för utvär- deringen av varierande längd/diameterförhàllande pà skärpres- tanda och motsvarande whiskerlängder.

Hàrdhet och seghet mättes med användning av ett Vickersintryck med en 10 kg last. Alla mätningar utfördes pà planet vinkelrätt mot varmpressningsriktningen_ Brottsegheten beräknades enligt for- meln P Klc = 0,0824 -5; c där P = kraften i N och c = spricklängden efter intrycket.
Brotthàllfastheten mättes i tre-punkts böjande. Medelbrott- spänningen beräknades fràn 9 prov 13,3 x 3,5 x 2,0 mm, spann 9 mm, lastpàläggningshastighet 50 N/s. De uppmätta värdena kan återfinnas i tabell 3. 10 15 20 25 30 35 507 706 4 Tabell 3 Densitet, hàrdhet, brottseghet och brotthàllfasthet.

För detta ändamàl tillverkades skär med ISO beteckning RNGN 120400 T01020 av de varmpressade skivorna.
Tvà slag av svarvningsprov utfördes; ett DOC(Depth of Cut) notchmotstàndsprov och ett seghetsprov.
DOC notchmotstàndsprovet genomfördes vid vatsvarvning pà en cylindrisk stäng Inconel 718, med användning av följande data: Matning = 0,15 mm/rev Skärhastighet = 250 m/min Skärdjup = 1,5 mm Seghetsprovet utfördes torrt med användning av ett arbets- stycke av stál(SS 2242)plát. Formen i kombination med en ökande matning leder till brott. Tiden till brott är ett màtt pá seg- heten hos det skärande verktygsmaterialet. Svarvdata var: Matning = 0,1 mm/varv, ökat 0,1 mm/varv varje minut Skärhastighet = Skärdjup = 1,5 mm Resultat fràn skärprovet kan återfinnas i tabell 4. 90 m/min Tabell 4 DOC notchslitstyrka och seghetsbeteende i metallbearbetning Variant DOC notchslitstyrka, Seghet, tid till brott, tid till 2 mm notch median A 15 0,51 B 17 0,65 C 11 0,46 D 6 0,26 507 706 Av provet kan det konstateras att varianten B är nàgot mer slitstark och visar ett bättre seghetsbeteende än variant A med omalda whiskers. För mycket malning reducerar bade slitstyrka och seghetsbeteende.

Oxidbaserat keramiskt skär för spànformande maskinbearbetning av varmhàllfasta legeringar varvid skäret bestàr av en aluminiumoxidbaserad matris och 5-50 volym-% av homogent fördelade whiskers av kiselkarbid, k ä n n e t e c k n a t av, att sagda whiskers har en medellängd av 4-7 pm med en standardavvikelse av 3-5, företrädesvis omkring 4.
