Abstract
Se proporcionan sistemas y métodos que implican una reacción de agua subcrítica para reciclar los componentes de celulosa y poliéster de los textiles residuales de algodón y mezcla de algodón/poliéster que de otro modo se desecharían o eliminarían. Específicamente, los métodos descritos prevén el tratamiento de los textiles residuales para producir materiales avanzados que incluyen celulosa y ácido tereftálico (TPA) con un bajo impacto ambiental. La celulosa y el TPA que se producen son de alta calidad, lo que permite la producción de celulosa regenerada y tereftalato de polietileno (PET) regenerado adecuado para hilatura de fibras y aplicaciones textiles.
