Abstract

En el presente documento se proveen composiciones y métodos para la producción mejorada de glucósidos de esteviol en una célula hospedera. En algunas modalidades, la célula hospedera es modificada genéticamente para comprender una secuencia de nucleótidos heteróloga que codifica una UDP-glicosiltransferasa 40087 de Setaria italica o su UDP-glicosiltransferasa variante. En algunas modalidades, la célula hospedera es modificada genéticamente para comprender una secuencia de nucleótidos heteróloga que codifica una UDP-glicosiltransferasa sr.UGT_9252778, Bd_UGT10850 y/u Ob_UGT91B1_like. En algunas modalidades, la célula hospedera comprende además una o más secuencias de nucleótidos heterólogas que codifican enzimas adicionales de una vía capaz de producir glucósidos de esteviol en la célula hospedera. Las composiciones y métodos descritos en el presente documento proveen una vía eficaz para la producción heteróloga de glucósidos de esteviol, que incluyen, pero sin limitarse a, rebaudiósido D y rebaudiósido M.
