Abstract

Aquí se proporcionan composiciones y métodos para mejorar la producción de glucósidos de esteviol en una célula hospedera. En algunas modalidades, la célula hospedera se modifica genéticamente para comprender una secuencia de nucleótidos heteróloga que codifique para una kaureno oxidasa de Pisum sativum o su kaureno oxidasa variante. En algunas modalidades, la célula hospedera comprende además una o más secuencias de nucleótidos heterólogas que codifican para enzimas adicionales de una vía capaces de producir glucósidos de esteviol en la célula hospedera. Las composiciones y métodos descritos en este documento proporcionan una ruta eficiente para la producción heteróloga de glucósidos de esteviol, incluyendo, pero no limitados a, rebaudiósido D y rebaudiósido M.
