Abstract
En el presente documento se proporcionan células hospederas modificadas genéticamente, composiciones y métodos para mejorar la producción de glicósidos de esteviol. En algunas modalidades, la célula hospedera se modifica genéticamente para comprender un casete de expresión de ácido nucleico heterólogo que expresa un transportador ABC capaz de transportar glicósidos de esteviol al espacio extracelular o al espacio luminal de un orgánulo intracelular. En algunas modalidades, la célula hospedera comprende además una o más secuencias de nucleótidos heterólogas que codifican para enzimas adicionales de una vía capaz de producir uno o más glucósidos de esteviol en la célula hospedera. Las células hospederas, las composiciones y los métodos descritos en el presente documento proporcionan una ruta eficaz para la producción heteróloga de glicósidos de esteviol, que incluyen, entre otros, rebaudiósido D y rebaudiósido M.
