Abstract
En la presente se proveen métodos de generar microorganismos genéticamente modificados, por ejemplo, cepas de levadura genéticamente modificadas, que comprenden disrupciones funcionales en uno o más genes de respuesta a feromona y uno o más genes de esporulación, y células de levadura genéticamente modificadas, por ejemplo, células de levadura diploides y haploides genéticamente modificadas, que carecen de capacidad de esporulación y capacidad de apareamiento endógeno, producidas por los mismos.
