Description

개선된 모듈 세척 방법{IMPROVED MODULE CLEANING METHOD}
본 발명은 멤브레인 여과 시스템, 특히 가압 쉘 또는 대기중에 개방된 탱크 또는 셀에 위치되는 다공성 또는 투과성 멤브레인 및 이를 위한 역세척 장치를 사용하는 시스템에 관한 것이다.
명세서를 통한 종래 기술에 대한 어떠한 기재도 이러한 종래 기술이 기술 분야에서 통상의 일반적인 지식으로 폭넓게 알려지거나 또는 그 일부를 형성한다는 것을 인정하는 것으로 고려되어서는 안 된다.

본 발명의 실시예들은 역전된 형태로 모듈의 작동을 가능하게 할 뿐만 아니라, 모듈의 기부 근처에 장착된 매니폴드 장치를 사용하여 가스 및 액체의 세척 및 쓸고 지나가는 작업을 가능하게 한다. 본 발명은 개방된 공급 탱크 내의 개개의 모듈 또는 모듈의 어레이와 함께 사용하는 것에 대해 기술되었지만, 본 발명은 적절한 가압 하우징 및 연결부를 사용하는 가압 시스템에도 마찬가지로 적용된다는 것을 알 수 있다. 바람직하게는, 본 발명은 양 단부로부터 여과액을 수집하도록 배열된 모듈과 함께 사용되지만, 한쪽 단부만으로부터 여과되는 모듈에 마찬가지로 적용될 수 있다. 여과액은 모듈의 상부 또는 하부로부터 배출된다.

가스 및 역세척 매니폴드는 (상술한 바와 같이) 하나의 유닛으로 결합되거나 또는 별개의 매니폴드들로 유지될 수 있다.

이와 달리, 상기 장치의 하부에서 상부로 쓸고 지나가는 단계를 수행하기 보다는, 역세척 폐기물을 실어보내기 위해 역세척/가스 라인 또는 기부의 일부 다른 폐기물 연결부를 사용하여 상부에서 하부로 쓸고 지나가는 단계를 수행하는 것도 가능하다. 이러한 경우, 공급 탱크를 소정의 높이로 채우거나 또는 탱크로 공급액을 공급하여 탱크 레벨을 모듈 위로 유지함으로써 역세척 유동이 모듈을 따라 중력에 의해 유동되게 할 수 있다. 이러한 경우, 역세척 폐기물의 양은 역세척 유동 액체가 하부로부터 공급되는 상기의 상황과 비슷하면서, 탱크 또는 용기로 공급액을 공급하는 기존의 펌프와 다른 추가의 펌프가 필요하지 않는다는 중요한 이점을 가진다.
모듈의 일부로서 차폐부의 중실 부분 또는 덮개를 갖는 것은, 이 부분들이 섬유를 보호하고, 모듈 지지를 제공하고, 역세척 공정 동안 액체 및 가스를 포함하는 용기를 제공하는 여러 기능을 수행하므로 장치를 구성하는 비용을 감소시킨다. 또한, 동일한 기능을 제공하도록 외부 쉘이 사용될 수 있다.

도1을 참조하면, 멤브레인 모듈(5)은 수직으로 이격된 상부 및 하부 헤더(7, 8) 사이에서 연장되고 다발로 형성되는 복수의 다공성 중공 섬유 멤브레인(6)을 포함하고, 상기 섬유 멤브레인(6)의 단부는 상기 상부 및 하부 헤더 내로 넣어진다. 상부 및 하부 헤더(7, 8)는 상부 여과액 캡(12) 및 하부 여과액 수집 컵(13)에 의 해 형성된 관련된 상부 및 하부 여과액 수집 챔버(10, 11) 및 섬유 멤브레인(6)의 단부(9)와 유체 연통된다. 섬유 멤브레인은 하부 헤더(8) 바로 위에 그리고 상부 헤더(7) 바로 아래에 각각 구멍(3, 4)을 갖는 유체 불투과성 차폐부(14)에 의해 상부 및 하부 헤더 사이에서 지지된다. 차폐부(14)의 단부의 구멍(3, 4)은 모듈 멤브레인(6)으로 그리고 모듈 멤브레인으로부터 가스 및 액체의 통과가 가능하도록 제공된다. 여과액 파이프(15)는 멤브레인 다발의 중심을 통해 연장되어 상부 및 하부 여과액 수집 챔버(10, 11)를 연결한다.
도1 내지 도3에 도시된 통기/역세척 장치(16)는 하부 헤더(8) 위의 그리고 차폐부(14)의 구멍(3)에 인접하는 멤브레인 모듈(5)의 부분을 둘러싼다. 통기/역세척 장치는 수직으로 이격된 상부 및 하부 관통 개구(18, 19)를 갖는 연통 챔버(17)를 포함하고, 상기 관통 개구는 연통 챔버(17) 및 멤브레인 모듈(5)과 유체 연통된다. 연통 챔버(17)는 파이프(20)를 통해 가스원 또는 역세척 액체원에 선택적으로 연결된다.
상부 및 하부 헤드(7, 8)는 O링(23, 24)에 의해 각각 상부 캡(12) 및 하부 컵(13)과 밀봉 결합되는 각각의 상부 및 하부 포팅 슬리브(potting sleeve)(22, 21)를 포함한다. 하부 헤더(8)는 임의의 적절한 분리 가능한 연결부에 의해 통기/역세척 장치에 연결될 수 있고, 이 경우에는 바이오넷형 연결부(28)가 사용된다.
작동 중에, 모듈(5)은 공급 탱크(25) 내에 잠기고, 흡입력이 하부 수집 챔버(11)에 가해지고, 이러한 흡입력은 [여과액 파이프(15)를 통해] 섬유 멤브레인(6)의 상부 및 하부 단부에 교대로 가해진다. 여과액은 여과액 캡(12) 및 컵(13)에 수집되어 매니폴드(26)를 통해 파이프로 이동된다(도2 참조). 모듈(5)의 상부 여과액 캡(12) 및 하부 여과액 컵(13)은 모듈의 상부 여과액 캡(12)으로부터 여과액을 수집하여 하부 여과액 컵(13)으로 운반하는 중앙 여과액 파이프(15)에 의해 연결된다. 또한, 상부 및 하부 여과액 헤더(7, 8) 사이의 연결은 모듈(5) 외부의 연결부에 의해 이루어질 수 있지만, 본 실시예에서는 모듈(5)의 일부로서 도시되었다. 여과액은 어느 쪽의 단부로부터도 수집될 수 있지만, 하부로부터 수집되는 것이 분기를 단순하게 한다. 수집된 여과액은 도2 및 도4에 도시된 바와 같이 매니폴드(26)를 통해 파이프로 이동된다.
섬유 멤브레인(6)의 세척은 역세척 동안에 가스, 일반적으로 공기를 통기 개구로 작용하는 상부의 상기 관통 개구(18)를 통해 멤브레인 모듈(5) 내로 도입함으로써 달성된다. 이러한 관통 개구(18)는 하부의 역세척 관통 개구(19)로부터 이격되어 배치되고, 대부분의 가스가 이러한 개구(18)를 통과하고 역세척 개구(19)와 유체 밀봉을 유지하도록 크기가 정해지만, 역세척 개구(19)를 통한 적은 양의 누설은 용인된다. 이는 가스가 모듈 주위로 가능한 한 균일하게 분배되는 것을 보장한다. 모듈 멤브레인(6) 내로 공급된 가스에 의해 발생된 가스 버블을 사용하는 가스 세척이 완료되면(선택적으로 멤브레인의 투과성 역분출과 조합된다), 액체 휩쓸기가 역세척 개구(19) 및 통기 개구(18)를 통해 도입된다. 챔버(17) 내의 임의의 가스가 초기에 통기 개구(18)를 통해 지나가면, 멤브레인(6)을 세척하는 추가의 가스가 사용될 수 있다. 그후, 챔버(17)는 공급 액체로 충전되고, 통기 개구(18) 및 역세척 개구(19)를 통해 모듈(5) 내로의 유동이 발생할 수 있다. 가스에 비해 저 항이 더 큰 액체 유동이 가능하도록 하기 위해 추가적인 역세척 개구(19)가 제공된다.
모듈(5)의 기부 내로 도입된 액체 유동은 모듈(5)로부터 고체를 쓸어내도록 모듈(5)을 따라서 유동한다. 역세척 폐기물은 용기(25)의 상부에서 범람하여, 탱크 또는 용기(25) 상의 출구를 통해 배수되거나 또는 개구(18, 19)의 외부로 배수 또는 펌핑된다.
또한, 기존의 매니폴드 또는 확장된 매니폴드는, 액체가 통기/역세척 장치 및 챔버(17) 내로 도입될 때, 액체가 챔버(17)로부터의 가스를 넘치게 하여 이를 모듈(5) 내로 운반하여 멤브레인(6)의 추가의 가스 세척을 제공하도록 사용될 수 있다.
또한, 가스는 공급액에 의한 역분출이 일어나는 것과 동시에 챔버(17) 또는 역세척 라인(20)으로 유도될 수 있다. 이는 가스가 챔버(17) 내에서 분리되거나 또는 통기 개구(18)를 통해 유동하거나, 또는 임의의 개구(18, 19)를 통해 모듈(5) 내로 역세척 유동과 함께 운반되는 것과 같이 쓸고 지나가는 단계 동안에 두 가지 국면의 세척을 가능하게 한다.
이와 달리, 가스만 먼저 사용되고, 그후 가스가 세척하는 것과 쓸고 지나가는 것의 두 가지 국면을 위해 액체와 조합되고, 이후 액체만 쓸고 지나가도록, 적절하게 형성되고 크기가 정해지고 모듈(5) 주위로 이격 배치되는 관통 개구들과 함께 한 세트의 관통 개구(18, 19)만이 사용될 수 있다. 또한, 투과성 역분출 유동을 갖거나 또는 갖지 않는 이러한 단계들의 다른 조합이 사용될 수 있다.
도4는 모듈(5)이 어떻게 탱크의 위로부터 공급 탱크/용기(25)의 하부를 따라 배열된 여과액 및 통기/역세척 매니폴드(26, 27) 내로 장착되는지를 도시한다. 통기/역세척 매니폴드(27)는 파이프(20) 및 통기/역세척 장치(16)에 연결된다.
도5는 각각의 역세척 후 모듈 내용물이 배수될 때 시간이 지남에 따라 본 발명에 따른 모듈의 막간 압력(TMP)의 그래프를 도시한다. 이 그래프는 본 발명에 따른 막간 압력(TMP)이 각각의 배수 후에 효과적으로 회복되는 것을 도시한다.

Claims (35)

  1. 멤브레인들의 단부가 넣어지는 수직으로 이격된 상부 및 하부 헤더들 사이에서 종방향으로 연장되는 하나 이상의 멤브레인을 포함하는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈과 함께 사용하기 위한 통기/역세척 장치로서, 상기 멤브레인은 사용시에 여과 작동을 받는 투과성 벽을 갖고, 오염 물질을 포함하는 공급액이 멤브레인 벽의 일 측부에 적용되고, 여과액은 멤브레인 벽의 타 측부로부터 배출되는, 통기/역세척 장치이며,
    상기 통기/역세척 장치는 상기 멤브레인 모듈의 일부를 적어도 부분적으로 둘러싸도록 구성되고, 이격된 관통 개구를 갖는 연통 챔버를 포함하고, 상기 관통 개구는 상기 챔버 및 멤브레인 모듈과 유체 연통되고,
    사용시에 가스가 챔버로 공급되고 상기 관통 개구를 통해 멤브레인 모듈과 연통되어 멤브레인 모듈 내의 멤브레인을 통기시키고,
    액체 역세척 유동은 상기 챔버 내로의 상기 관통 개구를 통해 멤브레인 모듈로부터 배출되고 그리고/또는 멤브레인 모듈내로 공급되는 통기/역세척 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 가스 및 액체 역세척 유동은 동일한 관통 개구들을 통해 선택적으로 연통되는 통기/역세척 장치.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 관통 개구는 상기 챔버 및 멤브레인 모듈과 유 체 연통되는 수직으로 이격된 관통 개구이고,
    사용시에 가스는 챔버로 공급되어 상기 관통 개구의 적어도 상부를 통해 멤브레인 모듈과 연통되어 멤브레인 모듈 내의 멤브레인을 통기시키고,
    액체 역세척 유동은 상기 챔버 내로의 상기 관통 개구의 하부를 통해 멤브레인 모듈로부터 배출되는 통기/역세척 장치.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 역세척 유동 또는 공급 액체는 하부 개구 또는 양 세트의 개구를 통해 모듈의 기부 내로 공급 또는 주입되는 통기/역세척 장치.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 역세척 유동 및/또는 공급 액체는 상기 통기 중에 멤브레인 면으로부터 역세척된 고체를 실어보내기 위해 멤브레인을 따라 고체를 쓸어내도록 사용되는 통기/역세척 장치.

  8. 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 수직으로 이격된 관통 개구는 상부 및 하부 세트의 관통 개구를 포함하는 통기/역세척 장치.

  10. 제8항 또는 제9항에 있어서, 각각의 세트의 관통 개구들의 개구는 챔버의 주연부 주위로 축방향으로 이격되는 통기/역세척 장치.
  11. 제8항, 제9항 및 제10항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 액체 역세척 유동은 양 세트의 관통 개구로부터 배출되고 그리고/또는 관통 개구를 통해 공급되는 통기/역세척 장치.
  12. 제1항 내지 제5항, 제8항 내지 제11항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 통기/역세척 장치는 환형으로 형성되는 통기/역세척 장치.
  13. 멤브레인들의 단부가 넣어지는 수직으로 이격된 상부 및 하부 헤더 사이에서 종방향으로 연장되는 하나 이상의 멤브레인을 포함하는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈이며,
    상기 멤브레인은 사용시에 여과 작동을 받는 투과성 벽을 갖고, 오염 물질을 포함하는 공급액은 멤브레인 벽의 일 측부에 적용되고, 여과액은 멤브레인 벽의 타 측부로부터 배출되고,
    상부 및 하부 헤더는 상기 멤브레인의 일 단부 또는 양 단부 그리고 적어도 하나의 관련된 상부 및/또는 하부 여과액 수집 챔버와 유체 연통되어, 사용시에 멤브레인 벽의 상기 타 측부로부터 배출된 여과액이 적어도 하나의 상부 및/또는 하부 헤드를 통해 관련된 상부 및/또는 하부 수집 챔버와 연통되고,
    상기 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈은 상기 멤브레인 모듈의 일부를 적어도 부분적으로 둘러싸는 통기/역세척 장치를 더 포함하고,
    상기 통기/역세척 장치는 이격된 관통 개구를 갖는 연통 챔버를 포함하고, 상기 관통 개구는 상기 연통 챔버 및 멤브레인 모듈과 유체 연통되고,
    사용시에 가스가 연통 챔버로 공급되고 상기 관통 개구를 통해 멤브레인 모듈과 연통되어 멤브레인 모듈 내의 멤브레인을 통기시키고,
    액체 역세척 유동은 상기 연통 챔버 내로의 상기 관통 개구를 통해 멤브레인 모듈로부터 배출되고 그리고/또는 멤브레인 모듈내로 공급되는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 관통 개구는 상기 챔버 및 멤브레인 모듈과 유체 연통되는 수직으로 이격된 관통 개구이고,
    사용시에, 가스가 챔버로 공급되고 상기 관통 개구의 적어도 상부를 통해 멤브레인 모듈과 연통되어 멤브레인 모듈 내의 멤브레인을 통기시키고,
    액체 역세척 유동은 상기 챔버 내로의 상기 관통 개구의 하부를 통해 멤브레인 모듈로부터 배출되고 그리고/또는 멤브레인 모듈 내로 공급되는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  15. 제13항 또는 제14항에 있어서, 여과액 연결 파이프는 상부 및 하부 여과액 수집 챔버 사이에서 유체 연통되도록 제공되고,
    여과액은 수집 챔버들 중 하나 또는 다른 것들로부터 배출되는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  16. 제13항 내지 제15항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 통기/역세척 장치는 하부 헤더에 인접하여 위치되는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  17. 제13항 내지 제16항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상부 및 하부 수집 챔버는 상기 상부 및 하부 헤더를 착탈식으로 수용하여 유체 기밀식으로 결합되는 각각의 상부 및 하부 수집 컵을 포함하는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  18. 제17항에 있어서, 헤더는 바이오넷형 피팅에 의해 수집 컵과 잠금식으로 결합되는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  19. 제13항 내지 제18항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 멤브레인을 적어도 부분적으로 둘러싸는 차폐부를 더 포함하는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  20. 제19항에 있어서, 차폐부는 멤브레인 길이의 일부를 따라 연장되는 슬리브인 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  21. 제19항 또는 제20항에 있어서, 차폐부는 중실인 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.

  24. 제23항에 있어서, 역세척 유동의 우회 유동이 가능하도록 통기/역세척 장치 또는 이에 인접하여 상기 차폐부에 하나 이상의 추가의 개구를 갖는 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈.
  25. 제13항 내지 제24항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 다공성 멤브레인 여과 모듈을 사용하여 공급 액체로부터 오염 물질을 제거하는 방법이며,
    (f) 오염 물질을 포함하는 공급액이 멤브레인 벽의 일 측부에 적용되고 여과액이 멤브레인 벽의 타 측부로부터 배출되는 여과 작동을 수행하는 단계와,
    (g) 상부 및/또는 하부 헤더의 적어도 하나를 통해 상부 및/또는 하부 수집 챔버의 적어도 하나로 상기 배출된 여과액을 연통시키는 단계와,
    (h) 가스를 연통 챔버로 공급하여 상기 가스를 상기 관통 개구를 통해 멤브레인 모듈과 연통시켜 멤브레인 모듈 내의 멤브레인을 통기시키는 단계와,
    (i) 액체를 사용하여 상기 멤브레인 벽을 역세척하는 단계와,
    (j) 상기 연통 챔버 내로의 상기 관통 개구를 통해 멤브레인 모듈로부터 액체 역세척 유동을 배출하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
  26. 제25항에 있어서, 가스 및 액체 역세척 유동은 동일한 관통 개구를 통해 선택적으로 연통 및 배출되는 방법.
  27. 제14항에 따른 제28항에 있어서, 가스는 챔버로 공급되어 상기 관통 개구의 상부를 통해 멤브레인 모듈과 연통되어 멤브레인 모듈 내의 멤브레인을 통기시키고,
    액체 역세척 유동은 상기 챔버 내로의 상기 관통 개구의 적어도 하부를 통해 멤브레인 모듈로부터 배출되고 그리고/또는 멤브레인 모듈 내로 공급되는 방법.
  28. 제14항에 따른 제25항에 있어서, 하부 개구 또는 양 세트의 개구를 통해 모듈의 기부 내로 역세척 유동 또는 공급 액체를 공급하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
  29. 제14항에 따른 제25항 또는 제28항에 있어서, 상기 통기 동안 멤브레인 면으로부터 제거된 고체를 실어보내기 위해 멤브레인을 따라 고체를 쓸어내도록 역세척 유동 및/또는 공급 액체를 이용하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
  30. 제14항에 따른 제25항, 제28항, 제29항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 멤브레인 모듈은 용기 내에 포함된 공급 액체에 잠기고,
    용기의 상부에서 범람시킴으로써 용기로부터 고체를 포함하는 역세척 폐기물을 분출하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
  31. 제14항에 따른 제25항, 제28항, 제29항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 모듈의 상부에서 범람시킴으로써 모듈로부터 고체를 포함하는 역세척 폐기물을 분출하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
  32. 제14항에 따른 제25항, 제28항, 제29항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 개구를 통해 모듈로부터 폐기물을 배수 또는 펌핑함으로써 모듈로부터 고체를 포함하는 역세척 폐기물을 분출하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
  33. 제29항 내지 제32항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 분출 단계 동안 모듈 내로 가스를 도입하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
  34. 제33항에 있어서, 상기 가스는 상기 역세척 유동 및/또는 공급 액체와 혼합되는 방법.
