Description
Claims (17)
- 금속을 양극용해(anodic dissolution)시키고 하이드록사이드 또는 알칼리성 카보네이트를 수성 매질에서 침전시킴으로써, 금속 하이드록사이드 또는 알칼리성 금속 카보네이트를 제조하는 방법으로서, 3-격실 전해전지의 양극실에서 금속 성분을 양극용해시키고, 양극실과 음극실 사이에 위치하며 다공질 격막에 의해 이들과 분리되어 있는 중간실로 보조(auxiliary) 염 수용액을 계속 공급하며, 적어도 알칼리성은 아닌 금속염 용액을 양극실로부터 계속 제거하고, 알칼리성 보조 염 용액을 음극실로부터 계속 제거하며, 적어도 알칼리성은 아닌 금속염 용액과 알칼리성 보조 염 용액을 전해전지 외부에서 합하여 이로부터 금속 하이드록사이드 또는 알칼리성 금속 카보네이트가 침전되도록 함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 적어도 알칼리성은 아닌 금속염 용액과 알칼리성 보조 염 용액을 합하는 동안에, 여기에 pH를 침전에 적합한 수준으로 조절하기 위한 알칼리 하이드록사이드 용액을 추가로 첨가함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 침전된 금속 하이드록사이드 또는 알칼리성 금속 카보네이트를 분리한 후에는 침전 용액을 전해전지의 중간실로 되돌려 보냄을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 침전 용액을 전해전지로 되돌려 보내기 전에, 이를 마무리 처리(work up)함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 4 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 착화제가 있는 상태에서 침전을 수행함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 5 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 암모니아가 있는 상태에서 침전을 수행함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 금속 하이드록사이드 또는 알칼리성 금속 카보네이트를 분리한 후에, 암모니아를 침전 용액으로부터 제거함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 7 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 격막으로서 다공질 여과천을 사용함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 8 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 다공성 여과천을 통한 보조 염 용액의 유동 속도가, 전기장으로 인해 생긴 보조 염 용액 내 이온들의 평균 이동 속도보다 빠르도록 하는 압력 조건하에서 보조 염 용액을 중간실에 공급함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 9 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 금속으로서는 Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, In, Mn, Sn, Cd 및/또는 Al을 사용함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 10 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 보조 염으로서는 알칼리금속 및/또는 알칼리토금속의 클로라이드, 니트레이트, 설페이트, 아세테이트 및/또는 포르메이트를 사용함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 11 항에 있어서, 금속으로서 니켈 및/또는 코발트를 사용하고, 보조 염으로서 염화나트륨을 사용하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 12 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 보조 염 용액을 1.5 내지 5몰%의 농도로 중간실에 유입시킴을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 13 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 양극실에서 배출되는 산성 금속염 용액의 금속염 농도가 0.3 내지 2몰%임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 14 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 수용성 염 용액 형태의 금속 하이드록사이드 또는 알칼리성 금속 카보네이트를 도핑(doping)시키기 위한 물질을 침전 용액에 첨가함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 15 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 알칼리성 카보네이트를 제조하기 위해, 음극액에 이산화탄소를 유입시킴을 포함하는 방법.
- 다공질 격막에 의해 양극실과 중간실과 음극실로 분할되어 있고, 중간실로 들어가는 입구, 양극실에서 나오는 출구 및 음극실에서 나오는 출구를 갖는 3-격실 전해전지, 각각 양극실의 출구 및 음극실의 출구와 연결된 입구를 하나씩 갖고 출구를 하나 갖는 침전조, 및 침전조에서 배출된 생성물로부터 고체를 분리하는 수단을 갖는 금속 하이드록사이드의 제조장치.
