Claims (9)
- 광원과, 상기 광원으로부터 출발된 광(光)을 복수의 부분 광속(光束)으로 분할하기 위한 복수의 렌즈로서 되는 광속 분할 요소와, 광의 편광 방향을 조정하는 편광 변환 소자 어레이를 구비한 조명 광학계에 있어서,상기 편광 변환 소자 어레이는 상기 복수의 부분 광속의 각각을 2종류의 편광광(偏光光)으로 분리하는 편광 빔 스플리터 어레이와, 상기 편광 빔 스플리터 어레이의 출사면측에 배치되어, 상기 2종류의 편광광의 편광 방향을 맞추는 위상차 소자를 구비하고,상기 편광 빔 스플리터 어레이는 번갈아 배열되는 복수의 편광 분리막과 반사막을 갖추며,상기 광속 분할 요소와 상기 편광 빔 스플리터 어레이와의 사이에는 상기 편광 분리막으로의 입사 광량을 조절하는 차광재(遮光材)를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 차광재는 상기 편광 분리막과 반사막에 대응하는 복수의 차광부와 개구부를 구비한 차광판이며, 상기 차광판은 상기 편광 변환 소자 어레이를 따라 이동 가능하게 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 차광재를 평행한 복수의 차광판으로서 구성하고, 그중의 어느 것을 이동시켜서 상기 입사 광량을 조절하는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 복수의 차광판은 상기 복수의 편광 분리막에 각각 대응시켜서 배치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 차광재는 상기 편광 변환 소자 어레이를 구성하는 편광 분리막으로의 입사 광량을 임의로 조르는 가변 조리개인 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 가변 조리개는 광의 통과부가 슬릿(slit)으로서 형성되고, 상기 슬릿의 폭의 변경에 의해서 상기 편광 분리막으로의 입사 광량을 조르는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제1항 내지 제6항의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 차광재는 광 반사율 80% 이상의 금속 재료로서 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제1항 내지 제7항의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 조명 광학계와, 상기 조명 광학계에 의해서 조사(照射)된 광을 변조하는 전기 광학 장치를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 프로젝터.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 조명 광학계에 의해서 조사(照射)된 광속을 3색 광속으로 분리하는 색광 분리 광학계와, 상기 색광 분리 광학계에서 분리시킨 각각의 색광속(色光束)을 변조하는 복수의 상기 전기 광학 장치와, 그 변조된 각각의 색의 광속을 합성하는 색광 합성 광학계와, 그 합성광을 투사하는 투사 렌즈를 또한 구비하여서 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 프로젝터.
