Abstract
Description
すなわち本発明の密封装置は、非回転の静止部材に取り付けられるリップシール部材と、回転部材に取り付けられるシールフランジ部材との組み合わせよりなり、前記リップシール部材は、前記シールフランジ部材の端面に摺動可能に接触する端面リップを有するとともに前記静止部材の内周側に組み付けられるリップシール部材本体と、前記リップシール部材本体の外周側に一体成形されるとともに前記静止部材の端面と対向するよう配置される外向きフランジ部と、前記外向きフランジ部の外周側に一体成形されるとともに前記静止部材の外周側に配置される筒状の外周筒部とを備え、前記シールフランジ部材は、前記端面リップが摺動可能に接触するシールフランジ部材本体と、前記シールフランジ部材本体の外周側に一体成形されるとともに前記リップシール部材における外周筒部の更に外周側に非接触で配置される外周側筒状部とを備え、前記リップシール部材における外周筒部と前記シールフランジ部材における外周側筒状部との間に、所定の軸方向長さを備える非接触式のラビリンスシールを設けたことを特徴とする。
当該実施例に係る密封装置1は、自動車用車輪懸架装置におけるベアリング部にハブベアリングシール(ハブシール)として用いられものであって、ベアリング外部(機外)Oの水、泥水、塩水、ダスト、ブレーキフルードまたは油等の外部異物(外乱要因)がベアリング内部(機内)Iへ侵入するのを抑制するとともに、ベアリング内部Iの潤滑グリースがベアリング外部Oへ漏洩するのを抑制する。

Claims (6)
- 非回転の静止部材に取り付けられるリップシール部材と、回転部材に取り付けられるシールフランジ部材との組み合わせよりなり、
前記リップシール部材は、前記シールフランジ部材の端面に摺動可能に接触する端面リップを有するとともに前記静止部材の内周側に組み付けられるリップシール部材本体と、前記リップシール部材本体の外周側に一体成形されるとともに前記静止部材の端面と対向するよう配置される外向きフランジ部と、前記外向きフランジ部の外周側に一体成形されるとともに前記静止部材の外周側に配置される筒状の外周筒部とを備え、
前記シールフランジ部材は、前記端面リップが摺動可能に接触するシールフランジ部材本体と、前記シールフランジ部材本体の外周側に一体成形されるとともに前記リップシール部材における外周筒部の更に外周側に非接触で配置される外周側筒状部とを備え、
前記リップシール部材における外周筒部と前記シールフランジ部材における外周側筒状部との間に、所定の軸方向長さを備える非接触式のラビリンスシールを設けたことを特徴とする密封装置。 - 請求項1記載の密封装置において、
前記シールフランジ部材は、ステンレス鋼板をもって前記シールフランジ部材本体および前記外周側筒状部が一体成形されていることを特徴とする密封装置。 - 請求項1または2記載の密封装置において、
前記リップシール部材における前記外向きフランジ部に、前記シールフランジ部材本体に対し非接触で対向するラビリンスリップが設けられていることを特徴とする密封装置。 - 請求項1、2または3記載の密封装置において、
前記リップシール部材における前記外周筒部はゴム状弾性体によって成形され、前記外周筒部の先端部内周面に、組付け時の変形を抑制する面取り形状が設けられていることを特徴とする密封装置。 - 請求項1、2、3または4記載の密封装置において、
前記シールフランジ部材における前記シールフランジ部材本体および前記外周側筒状部間の屈曲部外面に、当該シールフランジ部材を複数積み重ねたときに隣りのシールフランジ部材における外周側筒状部の先端が係合する段差形状が設けられていることを特徴とする密封装置。 - 請求項1、2、3、4または5記載の密封装置において、
当該密封装置は、自動車等車両用のハブベアリングシールまたはその他のベアリングシールとして用いられることを特徴とする密封装置。
