技术领域
本发明涉及一种密封技术相关的密封装置。本发明的密封装置用作例如汽车等车辆的轮毂轴承密封件或其他轴承密封件。
背景技术
如图3所示,目前已知有防止机外O的异物侵入机内I而进行密封的密封装置51,包括安装在非旋转的静止部件61上的唇形密封部件52,使设置在该唇形密封部件52的端面唇53可滑动地接触旋转部件71的端面部72。该密封装置51用作汽车等车辆的轮毂轴承密封件。

近年来,这种轮毂轴承密封件常用于泥水环境要求严格的地区。因此需要改善泥水密封性。但是从燃油费用提高的观点出发还需要低扭矩,因此避免通过增加端面唇53的数量来改善泥水密封性。
发明内容
鉴于此,本发明的目的在于提供一种密封装置,在满足低扭矩要求的同时能够提高密封性,尤其是泥水密封性。
为了达到上述目的,本发明采用如下技术手段。
即,本发明的密封装置的特征在于,由安装在非旋转的静止部件的唇形密封部件和安装在旋转部件的密封凸缘部件组合构成,所述唇形密封部件包括:唇形密封部件主体,具有与所述密封凸缘部件的端面可滑动地接触的端面唇,且被组装到所述静止部件的内周侧;向外凸缘部,一体成型于所述唇形密封部件主体的外周侧,且配置为与所述静止部件的端面相对;以及筒状的外周筒部,一体成型于所述向外的凸缘部的外周侧,且配置在所述静止部件的外周侧,所述密封凸缘部件包括:密封凸缘部件主体,与所述端面唇可滑动地接触;以及外周侧筒状部,一体成型于所述密封凸缘部件主体的外周侧,且以非接触方式配置在所述唇形密封部件中的外周筒部的更靠外的外周侧,在所述唇形密封部件中的外周筒部和所述密封凸缘部件中的外周侧筒状部之间,设置了具有规定轴向长度的非接触式的迷宫密封件。
在具有上述结构的密封装置中,通过端面唇的滑动来设定接触式的密封部,在其外周侧(机外侧)通过唇形密封部件中的外周筒部与密封凸缘部件中的外周侧筒状部的组合来设定非接触式的迷宫密封件。唇形密封部件中的外周筒部和密封凸缘部件中的外周侧筒状部均为筒状,在两者之间形成的间隙朝向轴向一侧而并非朝向径向外侧开口,因此泥水等外部异物难以从机外侧侵入。并且,由于可以任意设定两者之间所形成间隙的轴向长度大小,所以可设定为迷宫密封件的间隙长度较长,从而可以通过迷宫密封件提高密封性。因此可以提供一种密封装置,由于未增加端面唇的数量,从而能够满足低扭矩的要求,并且通过接触式的密封部与非接触式的迷宫密封件的组合来发挥优异的密封性。
安装在旋转部件上的密封凸缘部件可由不锈钢板一体成型有密封凸缘部件主体和外周侧筒状部。当端面唇可滑动地与旋转部件而并非密封凸缘部件直接接触时,由于旋转部件通常由轴承钢制成,所以旋转部件容易受到泥水或盐水的影响而生锈,导致端面唇的接触不稳定而可能发生泄漏。与此相对,由于密封凸缘部件由不锈钢板制成而不易生锈,因此可以使端面唇的接触稳定化。
如上所述,本发明中,通过唇形密封部件中的外周筒部与密封凸缘部件中的外周侧筒状部的组合来设置非接触式的迷宫密封件,除此之外,在唇形密封部件中的向外凸缘部设置有以非接触方式与密封凸缘部件主体相对的迷宫唇,从而可以进一步提高非接触式的迷宫密封件的密封效果。另外,泥水等沿着圆周方向流入迷宫唇的外周面,从而还可以提高密封效果。
在非旋转的静止部件上安装唇缘密封部件时,唇形密封部件中的外周筒部被组装到静止部件的外周面,但是外周筒部不具有金属芯而仅由橡胶态弹性体构成的情况下,外周筒部在组装时发生变形而可能导致产生卷曲等。为了解决这个问题,优选在由橡胶态弹性体构成的外周筒部的前端部内周面设置有防止组装时变形的倒角形状,由此,通过倒角形状实际上扩大了外周筒部的前端部的内径尺寸,因此能够防止外周筒部在组装时发生变形。
制造多个密封装置而在存储或运输时,多个密封凸缘部件以一定的方向同轴堆叠。这种情况下,如果设置有多个密封凸缘部件相互定位的结构,则不会发生堆叠的多个密封凸缘部件荷载崩塌的情况。因此优选设置有密封凸缘部件相互定位的结构,作为定位结构,具体而言,从密封凸缘部件的形状考虑,在密封凸缘部件主体和外周侧筒状部之间的弯曲部的外面设置有阶梯形状。对于该阶梯形状,与相邻的密封凸缘部件的外周侧筒状部的前端相卡合,从而可以防止发生荷载崩塌。
本发明的密封装置用作例如汽车等车辆的轮毂轴承密封件,或作为其他轴承密封件。因此,在这些技术领域的密封装置中,可以实现并获得本发明的效果。
发明效果
根据本发明,通过上述结构,在满足低扭矩要求的同时能够提高密封性,尤其是泥水密封性。

该实施例的密封装置1用作汽车车轮悬挂装置中的轴承部的轮毂轴承密封件(轮毂密封件),防止轴承外部(机外)O的水、泥水、盐水、灰尘、制动液或油等外部异物(外部干扰因素)侵入轴承内部(机内)I的同时,还防止轴承内部I的润滑脂泄露到轴承外部O。
密封装置1由安装在非旋转静止部件(轴承外轮等)61上的唇形密封部件11和安装在旋转部件(旋转轴等)71上的密封凸缘部件21组合构成。
唇形密封部件11一体包括:唇形密封部件主体(唇形密封内周部)12,其具有可滑动地接触密封凸缘部件21的端面部22c的端面唇19,且被组装到静止部件61的内周侧;向外凸缘部(唇形密封端面部)13,一体成型于该唇形密封部件主体12的外周侧,且配置为与静止部件61的端面61a相对;以及筒状的外周筒部(唇形密封外周部)14,一体成型于向外凸缘部13的更靠外的外周侧,且配置在静止部件61的外周侧。
另外,唇形密封部件11作为其构成部件包括:金属环(金属芯)15;以及粘接覆盖(交联粘接)该金属环的橡胶态弹性体16。
金属环15包括与静止部件61的内周面61b嵌合的筒状部15a,通过反转部15b和内周筒部15c,径向向内的凸缘部15d一体成型于该筒状部15a的轴向一侧的端部,同时径向向外的凸缘部15e一体成型于筒状部15a的轴向另一侧的端部。
橡胶态弹性体16一体包括:内周粘接覆盖部17,其对金属环15的筒状部15a、反转部15b、内周筒部15c和向内凸缘部15d进行粘接覆盖;端面粘接覆盖部18,其对金属环15的向外凸缘部15e进行粘接覆盖;以及上述外周筒部14,其中,两个端面唇19一体成型于内周粘接覆盖部17,并且润滑脂唇20一体成型于内周粘接覆盖部17。
另一方面,密封凸缘部件21包括由一个金属环部件构成的密封凸缘部件主体22,即,该密封凸缘部件主体22由与旋转部件71的外周面71a嵌合的筒状部22a、沿着旋转部件71的R面71b配置的截面圆弧形的R面22b以及沿着旋转部件71的端面71c配置的端面部22c构成,从该密封凸缘部件主体22的外周端部朝向轴向一侧,一体成型有在唇形密封部件11中的外周筒部14的更靠外的外周侧以非接触方式配置的外周侧筒状部23。密封凸缘部件21由不锈钢(SUS)板成型。
唇形密封部件11中的外周筒部14和在其外周侧以非接触方式配置的密封凸缘部件21中的外周侧筒状部23之间设置有具有规定轴向长度的非接触式的迷宫密封件31。
唇形密封部件11中的向外凸缘部13设置有以非接触方式与密封凸缘部件主体22相对的迷宫唇32。
唇形密封部件11中的外周筒部14未内置金属环15而仅由橡胶态弹性体16成型,在该外周筒部14的前端部内周面设置有防止组装时变形的倒角形状33。
另外,在密封凸缘部件21中的密封凸缘部件主体22和外周侧筒状部23之间的弯曲部24的外面,设置有当堆叠多个该密封凸缘部件21时与相邻的密封凸缘部件21中的外周侧筒状部23的前端23a卡合的阶梯形状34。
具有上述结构的密封装置1中,通过端面唇19的滑动来设定接触式的密封部,在其外周侧(机外O侧)通过唇形密封部件11中的外周筒部14和密封凸缘部件21中的外周侧筒状部23的组合来设定非接触式的迷宫密封件31。唇形密封部件11中的外周筒部14和密封凸缘部件21中的外周侧筒状部23均为筒状,在两者14、23之间形成的间隙由于朝向轴向一侧而并非朝向径向外侧开口,因此泥水等外部异物难以从机外O侧侵入。并且,由于可以任意设定两者14、23之间所形成间隙的轴向长度的大小,所以可设定为迷宫密封件31的间隙长度较长。因此,具有这种结构的迷宫密封件31通过端面唇19配置在接触式的密封部的外周侧,所以该密封装置1可以发挥优异的密封性。另外,由于该密封装置1与现有密封装置相比并未增加端面唇19的数量,所以可以满足低扭矩的要求。因此,可以提供本发明所望的能够满足滑动部低扭矩的要求且可以通过接触式的密封部和非接触式的迷宫密封件的组合来发挥优异密封性的密封装置。
另外,密封凸缘部件21由不锈钢板成型,所以其材质特性上不容易生锈。因此可以防止与端面唇19接触的部位处生锈而导致端面唇19的接触状态变得不稳定。
另外,由于迷宫唇32设置在上述迷宫密封件31的机内侧的位置,所以能够扩大非接触式的迷宫密封件的密封效果。
另外,如果不设置迷宫唇32,则流过迷宫密封件31的泥水等将会直接到达端面唇19,由于设置有迷宫唇32,所以流过迷宫密封件31的泥水等被该迷宫唇32挡住。泥水等沿着圆周方向向下流入迷宫唇32的外周面。因此也可以通过这种迷宫唇32的阻挡作用提高密封效果。
另外,由于在橡胶态弹性体构成的外周筒部14的前端部内周面设置有防止组装时变形的倒角形状33,所以可以防止外周筒部14发生变形而产生卷曲等。
另外,如图2所示,由于在密封凸缘部件主体22和外周侧筒状部23之间的弯曲部24的外面设置有阶梯形状34,所以当多个密封凸缘部件21堆叠时,上方的密封凸缘部件21中的外周侧筒状部23的前端23a与该阶梯形状34卡合,密封凸缘部件21彼此被定位。因此可以防止发生荷载崩塌情况。

3.根据权利要求1所述的密封装置,其特征在于,
在所述密封凸缘部件主体和所述外周侧筒状部之间的弯曲部设置有外表面侧成为凹陷形状的阶梯形状,所述阶梯形状在堆叠多个所述密封凸缘部件时与相邻的所述密封凸缘部件所具有的所述外周侧筒状部的前端卡合,
所述迷宫唇朝向内表面侧成为凸出形状的所述阶梯形状凸出并以非接触方式相对。
4.根据权利要求3所述的密封装置,其特征在于,
所述迷宫唇由在比所述外周筒部的外周面更靠内径侧的位置处朝向所述阶梯形状突出的多个唇构成。
5.根据权利要求4所述的密封装置,其特征在于,
所述迷宫唇具有由三个所述唇构成的、截面呈波形的形状。
6.根据权利要求1所述的密封装置,其特征在于,
所述密封凸缘部件以不锈钢板一体成型有所述密封凸缘部件主体和所述外周侧筒状部。
7.根据权利要求1所述的密封装置,其特征在于,
所述外周筒部仅仅由橡胶状弹性体成型。
8.根据权利要求7所述的密封装置,其特征在于,
所述外周筒部在前端部内周面具有倒角形状。
9.根据权利要求1~8中任一项所述的密封装置,其特征在于,
所述密封装置用作轴承密封件。
