Claims (22)
- 1.式I ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼I 〔式中、 RはH、または未置換の、CNまたはCF3でモノ置換されるまたはハロゲンで 少なくともモノ置換される1〜15個の炭素原子を有するアルキルまたはアルケ ニル基であり、これらの基における1つ以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに独立 して、酸素原子が互いに直接結合しないように−O−、−S−、▲数式、化学式 、表等があります▼、−CO−、−CO−O−、−O−CO−または−O−CO −O−によって置き換えることも可能であり、 Z1およびZは、それぞれ互いに独立して、−CH2CH2−、−CH=CH− 、−C≡C−または単結合であり、あるいはまたZ1およびZの1つは−(Ch 2)4−または−CH=CH−CH2CH2−であり、AおよびA1は、それそ れ互いに独立して、1つまたは隣接しない2つのCH2基を−O−で置き換えて もよいトランス−1,4−シクロヘキシレン基、あるいは未置換の、またはフッ 素および/またはC1原子でモノ置換またはジ置換される、1つまたは2つのC H基をNで置き換えてもよい1,4−フェニレン基であり、 mは0、1、2または3であり、 oおよびsは0、1または2(但し、(s+o)は≧2である)であり、 Wは−O−、−COO−または単結合であり、Qは−O−、−CH=CH−また は単結合であり、rは1〜7であり、 tは0〜7であり、そして YはF、C1、CF3、OCF3、CHF2、OCHF2またはOCH2Fであ る]の液晶化合物。
- 2.W−(CH2)r−Q−(CH2)t−Yに隣接する環が▲数式、化学式、 表等があります▼である式Iの化合物。
- 3.式I′′ ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼I′′(式中、LはHまたはFであり、そし てR、Z′、Z、W、Y、rおよびtは請求項1で定義した通りである)の化合 物。
- 4.式IA ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼IA(式中、nは0〜7であり、Dは−O− 、−CH=CH−または単結合であり、aは1〜5であり、bは0または1であ り、そしてZ、A、o、rおよびsは請求項1に定義した通りである)の化合物 。
- 5.式Ia ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼Ia(式中、aは1〜5であり、bは0また は1であり、Sは1または2であり、そしてA、Z、oおよびrは請求項1に定 義した通りである)の化合物。
- 6.式Ib ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼Ib(式中、nは1〜7であり、Sは1また は2であり、bは0または1であり、そしてA、Z、oおよびrは請求項1に定 義した通りである)の化合物。
- 7.式Ic ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼Ic(式中、L1はH、FまたはC1であり 、L2はFまたはClであり、そしてR、A1、Z1、Z、mおよびSは請求項 1に定義した通りである)の化合物。
- 8.式II ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼II(式中、LはFであり、そしてR、Z1 およびZは請求項1に定義した通りである)の化合物。

- 13.Zが−(CH2)2−であることを特徴とする請求項10記載の式Ibの 化合物。
- 14.Zが−(CH2)4−であることを特徴とする請求項10記載の式Ibの 化合物。
- 15. 式IV ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼IV(式中、L、W、Q、Y、rおよびtは 請求項1に定義した通りである)の化合物。
- 16. 式IB ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼IB(式中、LはHまたはFである)の化合 物。
- 17.4−ブロモ−2−フルオロフェノキシドまたは4−ブロモ−2,6−ジフ ルオロフェノキシドを1,3−ジメチル−2−イミダゾリジノンの存在下にメチ ルスルホン酸2,2,2−トリフルオロエチルと反応させることを特徴とする化 合物IB ▲数式、化学式、表等があります▼IB(式中、LはHまたはFである)の製造 方法。
- 18.液晶媒体の成分としての式I、IIおよびIIIの化合物の使用。
- 19.少なくとも1種の式Iの化合物を含んでいることを特徴とする少なくとも 2種の液晶成分を有する液晶媒体。
- 20.少なくとも1種の式IIの化合物を含んでいることを特徴とする少なくと も2種の液晶成分を有する液晶媒体。
- 21.請求項19または20記載の液晶媒体を含んでいることを特徴とする液晶 デイスプレイ要素。
- 22.誘電体として請求項19または20記載の液晶媒体を含んでいることを特 徴とする電気光学デイスプレイ要素。
