Description
(i)試料膜(1インチ×6インチ)を脱イオン水(800mL)中で30分間沸騰させ、次いでメタノールおよび水(800mL)の50/50重量%溶液中に入れて終夜浸漬した。次に、これらの膜の1インチ×1インチの大きさの試料はpHを9.5に調整した1×10−4MのAgNO3溶液20mL中に30分間浸漬した。銀イオンを含む容器をテープで包んで、光曝露を制限した。銀イオン溶液に浸漬した後に、2つの新しい乾燥メタノールの20mLアリコートに膜を各5分間浸漬して非結合銀を除去した。最終的に、窒素雰囲気下で最低30分間膜を乾燥させた。
(ii)ラザフォード後方散乱(RBS)測定:膜試料を熱伝導性かつ導電性の両面テープに貼り、次にヒートシンクとして作用するシリコンウエハに装着した。使用したテープは、Chromerics Thermattach T410または3M銅テープであった。RBS測定値は、ファンデグラーフ加速器(High Voltage Engineering Corp.,Burlington,MA)で得た。ビーム径3mmの2MeV He+室温ビームを22.5°の入射角、52.5°の出射角、150°の散乱角、および40ナノアンプ(nAmp)ビーム電流で用いた。膜試料は、測定中、連続して移動する可動式試料台の上に載せた。この移動により、イオンフルエンスが3×1014He+/cm2下に留まることが可能になる。
(iii)データ分析:RBSで得たスペクトルの分析を市販のシミュレーションプログラムのSIMNRA(登録商標)を用いて行った。RO/NF膜のRBS分析から元素組成を引き出すための使用説明は、Coronell,O.,ら(J.of Membrane Sci.2006,282,71−81およびEnvironmental Science & Technology 2008,42(14),5260−5266)によって記述されている。表に記載のデータはSIMNRA(登録商標)シミュレーションプログラムを用いて得て、2層システムを薄いポリアミド層下の厚いポリスルホン層に適合させた。3層システム(ポリスルホン、ポリアミドおよび表面コーティング)の適合は同じ方法を用いることができる。この2層(ポリアミド層を添加する前のポリスルホンおよび最終TFCポリアミド層の表面)の原子分率組成を最初にXPSによって測定し、適合値の範囲を与えた。XPSは水素を測定できないので、提案するポリマーの分子式からのH/C比率、すなわちポリスルホンの0.667および0.60〜0.67の範囲をポリアミドで用いた。硝酸銀で滴定したポリアミドは少量の銀を導入するだけだが、銀の散乱断面積は他の低原子番号元素(C、H、N、O、S)よりもかなり高く、かつ非常に低い濃度で存在している、したがって良好な感度をもたらすにもかかわらずピークの大きさは他と不釣り合いに大きい。銀の濃度は、SMNRA(登録商標)で2層モデリングのアプローチを用いて、ポリアミド層(層2、XPSを用いて事前に決定した範囲)の範囲の狭い組成を維持しながら、ポリスルホン層の組成を固定し、また銀ピーク値を適合することによって決定した。シミュレーションから、ポリアミド層内の元素(炭素、水素、窒素、酸素および銀)のモル濃度を決定した。銀濃度は、試験条件のpHで銀を結合するのに利用可能なカルボン酸のモル濃度を直接に反映する。
本開示は以下も包含する。

複合薄膜ポリアミド膜であって、多孔質支持体と、pH9.5で分離カルボン酸含量を少なくとも0.45モル/kg有することを特徴とする薄膜ポリアミド層とを含む、複合薄膜ポリアミド膜。
[2]
前記ポリアミド層がpH9.5で分離カルボン酸含量を少なくとも0.6モル/kg有する、上記態様1に記載の膜。
[3]
前記ポリアミド層が3.5以下の等電点を有する、上記態様1または2に記載の膜。
[4]
前記ポリアミド層が付加的な外側コーティングの存在なしで前記膜の外面を形成する、上記態様1〜3のいずれかに記載の膜。
[5]
塩水溶液(2000ppmのNaCl)を150psi、pH8および25℃で用いて試験すると、前記複合ポリアミド膜が1%未満のNaCl透過比率を有する、上記態様1〜4のいずれかに記載の膜。

多孔質支持体と薄膜ポリアミド層とを含む複合ポリアミド膜を製造する方法であって、
i)0.1〜20重量%の多官能性アミンモノマーを含む極性溶液と、
ii)ハロゲン化アシル、ハロゲン化スルホニルおよび無水物から選択される少なくとも2つの部分を含む多官能性アミン反応性モノマーを含む非極性溶液とを
前記多孔質支持体の表面に塗布するステップと、前記モノマーを界面重合して薄膜ポリアミド層を形成するステップとを含み、
前記方法が少なくとも1つのカルボン酸部分と、ハロゲン化アシルおよび無水物から選択される少なくとも1つのアミン反応性部分とを含む酸化合物を少なくとも0.025重量%さらに含む非極性溶液を特徴とし、ならびに前記界面重合が多官能性アミン反応性モノマーと少なくとも0.5:1のモル比で供給され、および前記酸化合物と少なくとも0.1:1のモル比で供給されるリン酸トリヒドロカルビル化合物の存在下で行われ、前記リン酸トリヒドロカルビル化合物が式(III):

前記多官能性アミン反応性モノマーが2〜4のハロゲン化アシル部分を含み、および前記酸化合物が1つのハロゲン化アシル部分と少なくとも1つのカルボン酸部分とを含む、上記態様1〜6のいずれかに記載の方法。

前記酸化合物が少なくとも2つのハロゲン化アシル部分と、少なくとも1つのカルボン酸部分とを含む、上記態様1〜7のいずれかに記載の方法。

Claims (4)
- 多孔質支持体と薄膜ポリアミド層とを含む複合ポリアミド膜を製造する方法であって、
i)0.1〜20重量%の多官能性アミンモノマーを含む極性溶液と、
ii)ハロゲン化アシル、ハロゲン化スルホニルおよび無水物から選択される少なくとも2つの部分構造を含む多官能性アミン反応性モノマーを含む非極性溶液とを
前記多孔質支持体の表面に塗布するステップと、前記モノマーを界面重合して薄膜ポリアミド層を形成するステップとを含み、
前記方法は、前記非極性溶液が少なくとも1つのカルボン酸部分と、ハロゲン化アシルおよび無水物から選択される少なくとも1つのアミン反応性部分とを含む酸化合物を0.078〜0.15重量%さらに含み、ならびに前記界面重合が、多官能性アミン反応性モノマーと少なくとも0.5:1のモル比で供給され、かつ、前記酸化合物と少なくとも0.1:1のモル比で供給されるリン酸トリヒドロカルビル化合物の存在下で行われ、前記リン酸トリヒドロカルビル化合物が式(III):
- 前記多官能性アミン反応性モノマーが2〜4のハロゲン化アシル部分を含み、および前記酸化合物が1つのハロゲン化アシル部分と少なくとも1つのカルボン酸部分とを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記酸化合物が少なくとも2つのハロゲン化アシル部分と、少なくとも1つのカルボン酸部分とを含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記酸化合物および前記多官能性アミン反応性モノマーが同じ化合物である、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
